Not my favourite Miranda novel, but still a binagable read. Good story, I saw some of the twists coming, but overall enjoyable read!

As a big fan of Megan Miranda’s work, I was excited to dive into Such a Quiet Place, and it did not disappoint! I loved how the story unfolded slowly, allowing me to piece everything together bit by bit as the mystery was revealed. I couldn’t stop reading the story was so good.

As the mystery came together, it led to a very satisfying resolution that kept me on the edge of my seat. If you enjoy suspenseful thrillers with well-developed characters and a gripping plot, this one is definitely worth the read!

I could not put this down.

I don't even know how many of Megan Miranda's books I have read by now, but I will only keep reading them. Once again, she has written an intricate plot with characters whose stories weave in and out of each others to create such a well-crafted, satisfying mystery. The nosey neighbourhood setting is used a lot, but it was done well in this story.

A quiet, close-knit neighbourhood...torn apart by murder. Thankfully, the murder was solved. Or was it? Ruby, the killer was convicted, but when that conviction gets overturned, the quiet neighbourhood is turned upside again. A wrongfully?-convicted killer living in their midst when they have not even finished mourning the loss of their neighbours.

Even though people had come to terms with their community's loss, they are unprepared for the turmoil set upon them by Ruby's return. Her return sets in motion events that cannot be stopped. Secrets surface, things unsaid are revealed, and everyone begins to question everything they thought they knew about the murder. Worse, it seems that with Ruby's return, a killer IS in their midst again, but it might not be who they think.

I loved piecing everything together, bit by bit, as it was revealed. Every character had something important to add to the overall story and when it was all added together made for a very satisfying resolution of the mystery. This was by no means a "thrilling" book, as the author tends to focus more on a well-crafted story than flashy drama and fast-paced thrills. But, that is precisely what I love about her writing. I would say that she has mastered the slow-burn and multiple characters and perspectives.

Thank-you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my advanced reader copy.

I was excited to read Such a Quiet Place when I received it as I have really enjoyed Megan Miranda's previous novels. This one I found hard to get into and found many plot holes I didn't like.

Hollow’s Edge is a beautiful and supposedly safe neighbourhood. Convicted murderer Ruby is back to clear her name. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I enjoyed the twists and turns and all the homeowner’s reactions to seeing Ruby descend on their neighbourhood again. Who really was the guilty one?

Miranda’s writing style is engaging, but the abundance of characters made it hard to keep track, and none of them were particularly likable. While it was a decently paced domestic thriller, it didn’t offer anything groundbreaking. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish it. I haven’t read any of Miranda’s other books, but I’m willing to give them a chance. Thanks to Net Galley, Simon and Schuster Canada, and Megan Miranda for providing me with an advanced reader’s copy.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fast paced quick thriller. I did not see the twists coming at all! Megan Miranda is now a must read author for me and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

This book was a lot tenser than I anticipated it being, which I loved. The setting was definitely my favourite part of the book - it was interesting reading about such a close community that is overly involved in each others business. The second half of the book was definitely my favourite and I loved that it built up the intensity of the novel.

This was such a fantastic read! I've really been diving into Megan Miranda's books, the mysteries are so entertaining, and I can't get enough! This latest one, about a small community that was rocked by the murder of a couple, and now the supposed murderers' conviction has been overturned, she's been released and has come back? Yeah, sign me up!

At the beginning of each chapter, there would be the chatter on the community's group message board, which was really interesting to read. It gave insight into what was going on with them all, about the meetings that they were going to have-and the paranoia, because the message board was used as evidence in the Truett case.

I felt badly for Harper. She didn't want Ruby back in her house, but wasn't able to find a way to get her to leave. And she's getting ostracised by the rest of the community, who believe that Ruby is still guilty. It puts her in a difficult spot, and there's plenty that she doesn't know, and her opinions change multiple times as new clues were uncovered!

I loved watching the case unfold, the bits of information that were just casually dropped that turned out to be vital, and how all the pieces came together! That ending though? Both the climax, and that final chapter with that reveal of that bit of information, yeah, that was spectacular! I wasn't expecting things to go that way, but to find out what happened? So good!

Loved this story, it was such a thrilling read, and I can't wait to read more!

"Such a Quiet Place" by Megan Miranda is an amazing domestic thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The story follows the residents of a seemingly idyllic neighborhood as they try to unravel the mystery behind a brutal murder that has shattered their community.

Miranda's writing is masterful, with a keen eye for detail and a talent for creating complex and nuanced characters. Her ability to weave together a plot that is both intricate and compelling is truly impressive. The twists and turns of the story kept me guessing until the very end, and the conclusion was both satisfying and surprising.

I've had this one on my NetGalley shelf for a long, long time. When I really think about how long I've had it, I could kick myself because this one was good.

It's a mystery/thriller, which I tend to love. But this one was different, at least for me. First, it wasn't action packed so the first half of the book dragged a little. There were a lot of characters and backstories for them all and keeping them straight could get to be a bit much when it all came down to it. The main character Harper spent a lot of time being unsure of herself and kind of fumbling her way through having an accused murderer show up at her house and make herself comfortable. Her handling of the whole situation was utterly baffling and made me want to shake her more than once.

By the time you get to the second half of the book, if you're like me, then you've invested too much time in the story and want to know how it ends. Plus this is one of the few times in recent memory that I can honestly say that it wasn't apparent to me just who was the actual murderer. Was it Ruby as they all thought, or was it someone else? Right up to the end, if you had told me that the story would go the way it did, I wouldn't have believed you. It's rare that I don't see a twist coming, and Megan Miranda managed to surprise me with this one.

Hollow's Edge used to be a quiet place until the murder of the Truetts. The residents are trapped, unable to sell their homes and suffocated by their trial testimonies that implicated one of their own - Ruby Fletcher, except now she's back to her old place with her roommate Harper. Then Harper begins receiving threatening notes, she realizes she has to uncover the truth before someone else becomes the killer’s next victim.

This is a small town mystery/suspense novel where everyone seems suspicious in their own way. I enjoyed reading and getting to know the various characters and honestly could not say what was going to happen. I live in a neighbourhood where we are close knit and communicate with each other via a neighbourhood Facebook page and I could really relate to some of the neighbourly drama that ensues.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada for my digital review copy.

Hollow’s Edge is the perfect place to live, that is until the murders! Ruby Fletcher is convicted of killing Brandon and Fiona Truett. After serving 14 months in prison, she’s released and now she’s back in Hollow’s Edge. This is much to the surprise and dismay of the residents, who testified against Ruby at her trial. Were they all telling the truth or was Ruby innocent of the crimes and is now out for revenge?

Such a Quiet Place is a chilling and twisty whodunnit. It’s an atmospheric mystery with a compelling and unnerving cast of characters. The story starts off slowly with an opportunity to get to know more about them and the circumstances surrounding the killings. If Ruby isn’t the murderer, it could be any one of them!

Miranda has a delicate, yet convincing way of revealing the layers underneath the surface of the personas. There is definitely a lot more going on in Hollow’s Edge than meets the eye and I enjoyed the tense build up that led to the conclusion!

Megan Miranda is a auto order author for me. This book was not her best. It was good and twisty and well written. I just couldn't bring myself to care about any of the characters. This was a 3/5 for me. But will order her next because I believe this one just wasn't' made for me.

“We had no warning that she’d come back.”

Hollow’s Edge seems like a quaint little neighbourhood situated in a college town on the cusp of a forested lake, before the murder of residents, Brandon and Fiona Truett, by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Harper Nash’s roommate, 25-year-old Ruby Fletcher, is convicted for murdering the Truetts, after nearly every resident has testified against her.

Fourteen months later, the conviction is overturned due to technicalities, and Ruby is a free woman. Where does she go? Right back to the home she once shared with Harper Nash in Hollow’s Edge. Why would she return to the neighborhood that turned against her, and what dark secrets is the neighbourhood hiding?

“Such a Quiet Place” is filled with rumours, red herrings, paranoia, suspicion, and an in-depth look at the possible perils of living in a close-knit community. Perfect for armchair detectives.

A huge thank you to @NetGalley, @Scribnerbooks and @marysueruccibooks for the ARC.

I've enjoyed every Megan Miranda book I've read so far and this one was no different. Although it did take me some time to get into it, it's an atmospheric slow burn with lots of character development. Lots of tension, lies and secrets. It's quietly good. I'll definitely look for more from this author.
