Hollow's Edge: a typical suburban. That is up until the murder of Fiona and Brandon Truett. Residents cannot sell their homes and are stuck in the tragic Truett court case that played out in front of them. One of their own- Ruby Fletcher convicted of murder. But now, Ruby is back to Hollow's Edge with her sentence overturned.
Ruby jumps back into her best friend, Harper's, life like nothing had ever happened. With the whole town convinced that Ruby IS the killer, Harper has to get her out of their fast. Yet, Harper cannot let Ruby go, questioning if she really is the killer. Is everything really not as it seems? Could there be a killer among them who is not Ruby?

Megan Miranda's latest thriller, Such a Quiet Place, had me hooked from page one. The perfect, idyllic community setting is believable and the characters are written with emotion. Megan is able to craft a book that leaves readers on the edge of their seat and keeps them guessing. I definitely did not predict the ending and was left wanting more!

Megan Miranda's Such a Quiet Place will be published July 13, 2021. This is sure to be THE book of the summer and you will not want to miss it!

I was sucked in from the beginning. I had to know, is Ruby the killer?! This is a gripping domestic thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Lots of twists & turns to keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense, but felt the ending was too anticlimactic for such a detailed story. Minus the slightly disappointing ending, Megan Miranda fans will definitely enjoy her latest novel.

**Hollow’s Edge used to be a quiet place. A private and idyllic neighborhood. But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett. A year and a half later, Hollow’s Edge is simmering. The residents are trapped, unable to sell their homes, confronted daily by the empty Truett house, and suffocated by their trial testimonies that implicated one of their own. Ruby Fletcher. And now, Ruby’s back!**

I've read many of Megan's books and have always been gripped by the story fairly early on. Such a quiet place did not disappoint, I devoured this book in 2 days, I was hooked from the very beginning pulled into the story needing to know, Why was ruby back? Did she really Murder her neighbors? Is anyone in this perfect little neighborhood innocent!

Megan has a great way of leaving you second-guessing everything and everyone! No one is innocent!
Harper appears to be the main character she is Ruby’s roommate after her fiancé leaves her. Although she seems a bit of a pushover just letting ruby back into her home and the neighborhood’s lives, she knows the other side of ruby before the deaths of Brandon and Fiona.

Plenty of twists throughout to keep you guessing. I personally didn't see the ending coming until very near the end of the book, if you loved All the missing girls and The perfect stranger then you should add this to your list!

Hallow’s Edge is a quiet neighborhood. Or at least it was until the Truetts were found dead and Ruby was charged with their murder. When she comes back 14 months later as if nothing happened, the whole neighborhood is on edge, and Harper, Ruby’s roommate is in a challenging position. Does she turn her back on Ruby? Can she trust Ruby? What can she do? When Harper starts receiving threatening notes, she gets even more scared and is determined to find who is sending them.

I am a HUGE Megan Miranda fan so when I got sent an advanced copy of Such A Quiet Place, I was beyond excited and I was not disappointed. This was a slow burn mystery as you really got to know the neighbors, all of their personalities and all of their secrets. While there wasn’t much action for the first half of the book, all of this information and knowing a murder took place kept the suspense building. Then the second half hit, and I could not put it down. I don’t want to give anything away, but I was shocked at how it all wrapped up and the journey Miranda took us on with this one.

This might be one of my favorite Megan Miranda books, all of the secrets and deception in a small town mad for the perfect setting and so much tension the whole way through. The mind games, the twists, all of this was just so good.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. Such a Quiet Place will be released on July 13.

Megan Miranda has a way with summer thrillers. They're twisty, they've always got something you don't expect, and they're always quick reads that leave you eager for her next. Such a Quiet Place is no Different. If you've ever lived in a neighborhood where everyone is in everyone's business or where the HOA is a big PIA, then you'll likely find the subject of Such a Quiet Place very relatable. While some aspects of this book were very unrelatable (like how do so many young couples own such nice homes in this day and age :P ), there are also many aspects of this book that could definitely happen. Miranda is a master of building suspense, a master of misdirects and a master of keeping us guessing and this was another solid summer thriller from her.

This definitely wasn’t my favorite of Miranda’s novels. The beginning dragged a bit. It did pick up in the middle. The cast of characters made it interesting but the end was pretty anti climatic for me.

Megan Miranda is the queen of eerie settings. Half of her books are always setting up the atmosphere and getting you to distrust every sound.

I feel like this one was a bit of a warning to all of the people who like true crime and think they are detectives. Like don't.  But also it exposes the flaws in our criminal justice system when it relies on what other people say instead of physical evidence.

I definitely wouldn't call this a fast-paced thriller. But I was a good read that I finished in two days. And I definitely think it is worth a read. A great one for the summer!

Thanks to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster for this eARC I'm exchange for an honest review.

This book is out July 13th 2021!

"Such A Quiet Place" by Megan Miranda is yet another great book that kept me guessing. In this one, Harper is surprised when Ruby's, her former roommate and friend who was in jail for murdering the neighbors, returns. Ruby claims she was falsely imprisoned and is going to make those who sent her pay. Harper is wrestling with her belief on whether or not Ruby did it. The rest of the neighborhood believes she did and want her out. There is a twist about halfway through that I did not see coming. The final twist made the first one even sadder.
I would have to say this is my second favorite of Megan's books, with the first one being The Perfect Stranger. If you like her other books, you will enjoy this one.

My first Megan Miranda book and a pretty average mystery/thriller for me. I appreciated that I did not see the twist at the halfway point and it was easy to get into. I was never super invested in who had done it and the ending seemed like such a major copout.

I would read from this author again, just a different plot!

Hollow's Edge is a small neighborhood in a college town that was shocked when Brandon and Fiona Truett were discovered dead in their home from carbon monoxide poisoning. Their neighbors are sure Ruby Fletcher murdered them, but she's been set free and is back in Harper Nash's house. Ruby was Harper's roommate before the conviction and now Harper isn't sure Ruby should be in the neighborhood let alone her house. Plus Harper has a secret - as does everyone else in this small neighborhood.

Megan Miranda does a great job of creating a sense of dread. From the moment Ruby returns until there is finally a confrontation the reader can feel the tension in the air. I did not feel this was as good as many of her past stories. But she is spot on how it feels to live in a small area where everyone thinks they know everything that is going on all the time. The ending was a bit disappointing to me. The first half of the book really had me interested and then it sort of felt flat after that. I wish there had been another POV given and not just Harper's.

If you like slow burn mysteries pick this one up when it's released in July!

This story started out slow with the return of Ruby Fletcher after she is proclaimed innocent and released from prison. Fourteen months earlier, this quiet idyllic neighborhood was rocked when the Truetts were found dead in their home. Secrets and suspicions added up, pointing to Ruby, and the only one on her side was homeowner and roommate Harper. But now that Ruby is back and threatening revenge, Harper is afraid for her life.
This was a slow build, describing the neighborhood, the closeness of the community, and the many secrets they try to hide. Everyone seems a little too involved in each other's drama. I was imagining a whole neighborhood of interfering busibodies peeping out the window blinds at each other. This book truly makes me thankful to live in a rural area!
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. My review is given voluntarily.

Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda centers around the small, close-knit neighborhood of Hollow's Edge. Hollow's Edge seemed like a safe place to live until the murder of Fiona and Brandon Truett. The testimonies of the residents implicated Ruby Fletcher, but now she's back and her conviction has been overturned. Her return sparks suspicion, distrust, and threats as Harper Nash digs deeper into the stories and secrets of the residents of Hollow's Edge.

The first half of this book is a really slow burn as the reader becomes acquainted with the community at Hollow's Edge. The author weaves in the different personalities and secrets and expertly builds tensions and suspense among those living in the neighborhood. At the mid-point of the book, I was on the edge of my seat and the second half flew by. I loved the web of secrets, the mob mentality, and the mystery that was developed over the course of the book, and I didn't see the ending coming. I've enjoyed several of Megan Miranda's books and this one is no exception! I highly recommend checking this book out if you're interested in secrets, lies, and suspicion in a small community where the residents think they're safe until they're not.

Gah, even knowing the pacing of a typical thriller, how the buildup is obviously taking us somewhere & having ideas of who and how, I'm still somehow shocked with how Miranda gets us there, and how we have to recover from it!

This might be my favorite of hers - there's just something about a small town thriller, where you *think* you're safe, only to find out someone amongst you is a cold blooded killer that makes for a great read. For this book, it takes it that much further with the more exclusive community, many of whom work at the nearby school. The community THOUGHT they were safe, until Ruby returns, having been released & bringing another level of drama, secrets and uncomfortable encounters, especially for our main character Harper.

Deliciously devious I was totally here for all the secrets being kept from each neighbor, and how it all ended up coming together! While the last title I read by Miranda seemed to be focused on just a few characters, this one really gave you a neighborhood of people to get to know, suspect and keep you distracted in the best way possible.

I read this one with my virtual based book club loveARCtually and cannot wait to discuss the book! Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC & Simon & Schuster for the physical copy.

Loved it! Tons of suspense and the story kept moving. Ruby comes home from jail on a murder charge that didn’t stick. The entire community thinks she’s done it. When she returns to her town and moves back in with Harper to resume her life while everyone on the community is keeping a close eye on her. Tons of twists and turns and guessing.

Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda
.
Thank you Netgalley for this digital copy to read!
.
A small neighborhood. A beautiful view of the lake. An intimate community. Sounds like an awesome neighborhood to live in, right? Until that couple was found dead....
.
This was my second Megan Miranda book and it won’t be my last. This was an addicting read with an intriguing mystery to solve.
What I liked:
-The suspicious characters! Ruby was convicted of the crime, but did she do it? Or was she innocent and it was someone else?
-There was just the right amount of suspense for me. It wasn’t too intense.
What I didn’t like:
-No spoilers, but I was waiting for something to happen towards the end and it didn’t happen.
.
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I flew through this one and was very taken in with the mystery. If you like mystery/thrillers then I would recommend this one.

This was a riveting domestic thriller with many twists and turns. I love how this author develops in-depth characters with complicated situations. I recommend this highly!

This book is full of secrets and unknowns. I was constantly asking myself who has killed the Truetts... At times, I wanted to shake Harper into sense, I felt she was naïve and too much a pushover. This book is a testament to the saying "the truth shall set you free". I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you NetGalley, Megan Miranda and Simon and Schuster for this ARC.

Megan Miranda outdid herself with this thriller that kept me guessing until the very end. The characters in Such A Quiet Place are real, flawed, and full of secrets. Who can you trust in this idyllic, picture-perfect community? Miranda reminds us that everyone is innocent until proven guilty... or is it the other way around? An absolute must-read for the Summer!

3 stars

Since I practically live in this book (a quiet, suburban neighborhood with a horrific homeowners' association populated mostly by college and university employees), I was gripped from the start by the nuts and bolts. However, the plot fizzled rapidly and was disappointing overall.

At the start, the m.c., Harper, is quite frightened when her once and again roommate, Ruby, appears. This is a strange situation because Ruby has just gotten out of prison after being convicted of murdering their neighbors: a couple who die in their home of carbon monoxide poisoning. It becomes clear quickly that while Harper testified (it's just the little bits she knows!), she isn't really sure if Ruby did the crime for which she did the time. It is also clear that Ruby has some plans to either payback those who wronged her (?)/ ratted her out (?)/ etc. or to find out what really happened. The setup here is great, but...that's where the fun ends.

The mystery resolves in the most anticlimactic way. I am walking away from this novel still feeling like the setting is gripping and the scenarios are disturbingly believable in it, but I hoped for much bigger reveals, twists, and justice than I got.

I do think this will be a hit at many book clubs if for no other reason than suburban folks will really resonate with these characters, their antics, and their generally insidious culture. But those looking for a real thrill or mystery should keep searching.

Three deaths in a close not neighborhood make everyone on edge. Harper is unsure if her previous roommate was actually guilty of the 2 deaths and goes on a mission to find the truth. I really have enjoyed Megan Miranda books in the past, but this one just missed the mark. I felt like the build up to the end was ok, but the last chapter left a lot of unanswered questions. I’m not sure if this was a precursor for a sequel, but the end was wrapped up quickly as if the author didn’t know where to go with it and needed to end quickly. All characters were unlikeable and the main character is so wimpy, it was hard to read at times. It’s a quick and easy read, but compared to Miranda’s other books, it just fell short.
