I had read book 1 of this series, "Banshee Cry", a while ago and was anxious to start this one. I was hoping with the longer length, the story would be a bit deeper as well as the characters. It felt a bit flat and two-dimensional to me. Or maybe I just wasn't in the right "mood" for it when I read it.

The Banshee cry and Banshee song leave very little to the imagination when it comes to romance. The story starts off with talking about sex and than bam the characters are in bed. The mystery of the story is thrown away for sex scenes. The story has potential for a really good short story but the author takes the easy way out writing over the top sex scenes.

The stories are the reason I have avoid paranormal romance stories. All sex and very little story or character development.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy of Jen Katemi Banshee cry and Banshee song.

It's the second book in the banshee series. It can be read as a stand alone though. The first book was terrific and the second book is just as good. It's fast, exciting and fresh. Lots of action and adventure. I like the couple and the way the talk to each other. A great book.'

(Blood Fae Chronicles Book 2) by Jen Katemi
Publisher: Flourish Books
Genre: Romance | Sci Fi & Fantasy
Release Date: December 7, 2020

Banshee Song is the second book in the Blood Fae Chronicles series by Jen Katemi. It can be read as a standalone book, but I definitely recommend reading the first book because it was so good!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the storyline. The romance was steamy (NSFW) and the banter was fun. Honestly, I thought this was even better than the first book! I thought this was a unique take on the banshee story and I enjoyed all of the paranormal touches.

This was a quick read that I could not put down! I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Banshee Power!

I'm so grateful to Jen Katemi, Flourish Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
