One of my favorite themes to read is what I call Geek Chic Lit, which features academics and university workers. In The Theory (of) attraction it introduces us to a group of astrophysics and a sociologist. Cami lives in a group of flats down the road from the university and is surrounded by others in the Sciences fields. One is her next-door neighbor Ivan. As I was reading this book, all I could visualize was that Ivan's character was so much like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, but since this book was written before the popular TV show, it did make references to the 80's character Urkel. To me though as I am a major fan of Big Bang Theory, I thought of Ivan as a sexier version of Sheldon. Imagine if you had Sheldon's brain in someone like Channing Tatum. The only difference though is that this book starts off with Cami trying to teach Ivan how to talk to donors and teaching him social skills. One thing leads to another, and the pair has this sizzling chemistry, and Ivan is about to introduce and teach Cami to a whole new side of him, she never knew existed - Ivan is into the BDSM world and is known as a Dominant/ Domme and Cami is about to become his Sub. The Theory of Attraction by Delphine Dryden was a fun, steamy geek read. Think The Big Bang Theory meets Fifty Shades of Grey and you have The Theory of Attraction, though of course her book was released before both series. I am now looking forward to reading the remainder of the series.
