This book follows the lead up to Adam and Laruen's wedding, but as their special day looms, so does increasing threat. The perfect thriller, it keeps you guessing, and leaves you with no idea who to trust. Each twist is followed by another, right until the end, and it is packed with suspense throughout.
The prologue grabs you from the off and takes you on a wild ride in this family domestic thriller! Very tense and tight with twists and turns throughout. Adam and Anna are childhood sweethearts about to be married when strange things begin to happen. Just when you think you know whodunnit the story turns again and leads you down the aisle of absolute danger.
This was my first Ruth Heald book and I was not disappointed!
Lauren is so excited to marry Adam. They have know each other for many years. However, as the wedding approaches bad things start to happen. Lauren starts receiving threatening messages and is even pushed down the stairs. Adam thinks he knows who is responsible, but does he really? There are so many twists and turns, just when you think you know what is happening you begin to question yourself.
This book was very well written and I really enjoyed the characters and the suspense throughout the entire plot. I would highly recommend this to readers that enjoy books that are fast paced and keep you fully engaged from the beginning to the very end. I can't wait to read more Ruth Heald books in the future!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Lauren is getting married to Adam who she has known all her life. Just weeks before the wedding she receives a disturbing card saying "he doesn't love you". More strange things begin to happen after that. Who exactly doesn't want them to get married? I liked the characters even if I didn't like their choices. There were so many possible suspects, each with their own motives. Keeps you guessing until the end.
Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc
This book was great fun! It centers on Lauren, who is getting married to her long-time partner, Adam. A few weeks before the wedding, she starts getting threatening messages and it seems clear that someone is trying to stop the wedding. There are a lot of potential culprits for who is out to get Lauren, making for a twisty and fast paced read.
The pacing of this book was great. I thought I had figured out who the villain was and was I was disappointed it was so easy, but turned out I was wrong! The characters were believable and were built up the point where I understood where their actions were coming from. I did think it was a little far-fetched that Lauren and Adam had been together 18 years but she wasn't sure if she could trust him not to cheat- that seems like an awfully time to not have a point of view there!
I would definitely recommend this book to those who like psychological thrillers and mysteries- it's a quick read with a lot of surprises and characters that were 3 dimensional. I will be looking for more books by this author. thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a fun exciting read! The story is was got my attention first! Sounded good.
Some of these characters I didn't really care for their roles..... But that never took a way from the book!
You think you might have it all figured out but something big happens here!
Just when you think you have it figured out.. wrong.. great book, great twists. Easy to pick up and likeable characters that draw you in.
Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.
What a great book! Read it within a day. Loved the characters, loved the suspense, loved the plot twist! I thought I had it figured out but then there was that jaw drop moment. Such a well written, fun, suspenseful read. Another Ruth Heald success!
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It was a typical thriller, fast- paced, keeps- you- on your- toes, with twists coming all the way till the last section.
I finished it in a weekend, and kept on guessing who this crazy stalker/ psycho was. I pretty much figured out it wasn't the obvious choice a few chapters in, but still kept on reading. I would definitely pick up another book by the same author.
What a fantastic read! It threw me off on my initial judgement of the guilty which I loved and it was squirmy enough to keep barreling through to see what the heck was going on! It was fast paced and the story flowed smoothly and you want to keep going to find out who is the crazy person!
The story is told back and forth between Adam and Lauren. They have known eachother forever as their parents were best friends and they were always together. They’re finally getting married and ready for their happily ever after except there are secrets to be unveiled. Lauren keeps getting disturbing “gifts” from someone clearly trying to stop the wedding. Adam’s point of view and story is from their trip in Thailand back in 2001 when Lauren’s parents passed away and how he was falling in love.
I can’t give too much away but there’s different relationships that makes you raise a brow on who the guilty person could be. It finally hit me at about 80% and I loved it! An exciting, good flowing, well developed story I highly recommend!
Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Wedding. Many, many twists, just when you thought you figured it out, BAM you realize you didn’t!! Really kept me engaged, the only downfall was the ending, it became very bizarre AND what happened to the officiant?? All in All a good, fast read.
I'm a sucker for psychological and domestic thrillers, and 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 by Ruth Heald hit the mark! Lauren and Adam are childhood sweethearts looking forward to their big day. As it grows closer, Lauren has reason to wonder how well she really knows this man. So juicy! 🌴🌴🌴🌴 4/5 thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for my copy!
I always enjoy reading Ruth Heald novels. I know I’m in for an exciting, twisty and unexpected story. Here, the bride, Lauren, is getting ready for her dream wedding to Adam who she knew as a teenager. We open with the wedding night when tragedy is happening. We go back and forth in a timeline told by both Lauren and Adam. A sense of dread is in both of their narratives and we learn of secrets untold that have become bombs, secrets that could have been revealed and stripped of their power. Everyone has them, here everyone has many. Tracey, Lauren’s Sister, Kiera, Adam’s best friend are added into the mix. Who wants to stop the wedding and punish Lauren. I had a clear idea but I was wrong. Fast paced, good plot, eye for details and fun to read!.
A wedding should be a day full of happiness and joy. You are surrounded by friends and family who all wish you a long and wonderful life together, but what if someone is not agreeing with that? Will this day you have been planning for weeks, months, even years sometimes leave you with a sinking feeling?
Will the culprit be caught in time or will you end up with a very, very short marriage?
When people are angry they often say something they don’t really mean or that is not true, but you have to be very careful. Others might take it the wrong way and make their own truth out of it and that’s when it’ll be a ballroom blitz.
I totally understood Lauren. I would freak out too if that would be happening to me. You don’t know who you can trust anymore, you don’t even know if you can trust yourself. Are you not imagining things? Aren’t you adding 1 plus 1 and come up with 3? But the more weird things happen, the more you are convinced that someone is out to get you…
Adam has made mistakes, but don’t we all?
I really enjoyed this book thoroughly. The short chapters, apart from the enthralling story, made me keep on reading and loving it. 5 stars
Thank you, Ruth Heald and Bookouture
i very much enjoyed this story very twisty .Lauren and Adam have been through a lot . he a doctor and she a nurse they lost a baby and know they are getting married Lauren lost her parents in a tragic accident in Thailand . and she tried to save them she is estranged from her sister Tracey but have reconciled as soon as wedding invitation s go out Lauren gets a nasty card through post and a chain of events start to unfold Lauren starts to doubt everyone she close to wont say no more but so good.
I dont know what to say - what an unusual premise and story line which really worked. I just had to read it in one session as I was so gripped and needed to find out what happened next. I have not read a book like this which given how many books I read is unusual, so that really helped.
This was so well written and the characters developed with so many false clues that left you guessing. I love that in a book so many are predictable.
I was given an advance copy by netgalley and the publishers; the review is mine alone and not influenced.
Someone is terrorizing Lauren before her wedding to her longtime love Adam. Adam is worried about who it could be because he has some buried secrets too! Who can Lauren trust and will her wedding go off as planned or will secrets be revealed that change everything? This was a wild ride! I enjoyed every single minute of this book. The author kept me guessing about who was terrorizing Lauren until the end. I even loved the beautiful descriptions of Thailand which made me yearn to have a holiday there. A seamless weaving of the plot between the different characters’ point of view kept the story flowing without giving away to much right away. It kept the tension high until the very end . I’m excited I have found another great author and will search out more of her books.
I am definitely getting this book at publishing because I was so blown away from the final reveal. I thought this was going to be predictable and one of those stories that has been told before; IT IS NOT! Lauren and Adam have been friends all their lives because their mothers are long-time friends. One day they agree to marry and the wedding planning starts. Lauren finds her dress slashed and threatening note saying Adam does not really love her. Heartbreaking and shocking as hell.
This book has one twist after another, and once you think you have it figured it out, FLIP. This is not your typical thriller, stalker type of story at all. I am so glad it was not predictable and the cover was perfect for all the action inside the pages. Just wow.
I look forward to reading more from this author if it is as good as this one. Highly recommended.
All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, Ruth Heald, and Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Wedding, A Tragedy and Family Drama! This is what this book is all about!
Lauren and Adam have been dating for a cool almost 18 years since they were teenagers and have now decided to finally tie the knot. They started right after her parents were killed in an accident on a trip to Thailand with Adam and his parents. Lauren starts receiving disturbing dolls that resemble her all cut up and bloody as well as disturbing notes telling her that Adam doesn't love her and threatening her life. Basically her perfect day turns out to be a NIGHTMARE.
I quite enjoyed what this author was portraying and how she mixed in both Adam and Lauren's POV to establish her story. How the author went back to what happened in Thailand to the present-day wedding really helped me piece together what had actually taken place. The characterization of some of the antagonists made me really dislike them from the start of the book and every note, everything that happened to Lauren throughout the book made me question who was doing this till the very end. It is why this thriller is probably one of those books that will stay with me for some time. Those are always the best books when I'm in a slump.
All in all, I quite enjoyed this author's writing and I hope when I decide to marry, it does not have this many issues.
