Just the title "Time Weavers, Inc." was enough for me to pick this up and give it a go. This is the second book in the series, and each one does stand-alone. Time travel has always fascinated me, and this book does not disappoint. The mystery and suspense, along with the interesting character development really moved this story along and created some great chemistry between the characters. An enjoyable escape into Regency London, and wondered if the time-traveler Katz Almira was going to stay or return to her own time...

I received a free copy of A Pocket in Time from NetGalley for preview, and also bought a copy of On Highland Time from Kobo, with my points, so I could read that before this book, to keep things in sequence.

I love historicals - historical romance, historical mysteries and suspense. I usually don't read time travel types, but was intrigued by the description of this book; the idea of women having a genetic mutation allowing them to travel in time, and forming a group to go back in time to fix historical anomalies that have changed the present as it is known, caused by an unknown group with an unknown purpose, which they are calling the Disrupters. Why not give it a try? I have also enjoyed fantasy and scifi genres as well, and have loved time travel shows before, so decided to give this a go.

From the two I have read so far, it has a bit of Charlie's Angels concept behind it, with the ladies of the group being given assignments and information from a leader they have not met, who can mysteriously communicate with them in the present, in their heads. When in the past, communication is via a male go-between named Go-Lucky; a seemingly Leprechaun like character who is looking for love as well.

In A Pocket in Time, the main heroine Katz is a woman with an unfortunate and complex past that causes her to have a lot of difficulty having trust in others and a desire to avoid relationships with others. Growing up in the streets, she had to learn to be a survivor and fend for herself. Perfect for infiltrating a band of pickpockets in 1815. Said pickpockets are under the care of a survivor of the Napoleonic wars, Lord John (aka Jack), who returned as a disillusioned, wounded soldier, who felt like he did not fit in Society anymore. Upon discovering his pickpockets, he found a reason to keep going again.

Jack's character came across as wounded, but very noble, warm, and caring, to me. I found Katz a bit harder to relate too; she seemed so prickly and brittle, but that fits in with her character and background, and makes sense to me. But it was nice to see her opening up to the band of pickpockets and being able to relate to them, in light of her own history. She started out pretty brash and one dimensional and it was nice to see her grow.

I liked how the relationships developed, and also seeing some of the characters from the previous book coming back up, such as Torr MacPherson and his insight; especially considering his own feelings about relationships in the previous book.

What I really enjoyed was seeing more building of the overarching story concept here, and am interested in seeing where this was going.

Also, being Canadian, I do like that the modern story line is either in Cape Breton or Toronto - even though the heroines have said they were American or from America. Upper Canada and Lower Canada did exist as colonies in 1815; Katz could have conceivably said she was a colonial too - but that is just me being a picky Canadian.

This was a fun read and I do look forward to what seeing what happens to the others in the TWI and where this story is going in the end. It would have been nice to see what happened to some of the pickpockets too - like Pip and Toby and their new family, Hum and Covey... but one of the rules of time travel are not to go back and cause splits in the TimeStream, so I presume no visits to the past to check up on friends; not unless they make their mark on history in some way and make it into history records for our heroes and heroines to read about in the present.

I reviewed a copy of this book from Netgalley and all opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this sweet time travel romance. There is plenty of action as well as romance. A cast full of lively characters especially Jack and the boys whom I really liked. The writing is very good and really evokes each era it describes. Overall, this is a book to get lost in and race through in one sitting. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Inspired by “Oliver Twist” by Charles Dickens, this book was enthralling! It is definitely a Must Read!!! Katz Almira has one job. She must travel back in time to Regency England and intercept a note that could potentially change the world, and to do so without getting personally involved. Her best bet to do this is to infiltrate a band of young pickpockets who are protected by Lord John Byron. Posing as a widow in need, Katz convinces John to take her in, which places her in the prime position to complete her mission. However as is usual things go a little awry when the boys and even John himself burrow their way into her hardened heart. Is it possible for her to save them all and by extension save herself? I received an advanced reader copy of this work from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and given freely.

A Pocket In Time by Lexi Post is the second book in the Time Weavers Inc. series. I had not read the previous book, On Highland Time, but was able to easily read this as a standalone book.

I will definitely be reading the first book in the series, as well as any to come in the future!

I was super excited to read this series, I'm a huge fan of Timeless the tv show and after reading the synopsis for the Time Weavers series, it was calling my name.

A Pocket of Time follows Katz and team member of the Time Weavers Inc. who is given the task of going back in time to when Napoleon existed to reverse something that disrupted the current history. USA is no longer and they need to correct a note that carried special information and make sure it got into the right hands. Katz goes undercover as a middle class widow who joins a young group of pick pocketers and the man who protects them, the wealthy Lord John Byron. But when the heart start causing problems as Katz gets close to him, she starts to question if changing history is worth letting her heartbreak.

Katz is a fantastic lead, she grew up on the streets and going back in history and once again putting herself on the streets with young boys who are like her, she is able to adapt quickly. She becomes protective over the boys who are unknowingly helping her change history back to the correct ways. Her connection to Lord John Byron was entertaining at first because their interactions were hilarious, he had no idea how much of a handful Katz was going to be. Their chemistry was their right from the start and every interaction there after was more and more steamy, until the pages caught fire.

Overall this was such a great new series for me as well as new author, I did not read the first book, however I never felt lost. I look forward to going back and reading what happened to the first couple because their story sounds like a great one. In the end I highly recommend this series not only for historical romances lovers but for anyone who enjoys history, as the history aspects were fantastically well thought out.

Katz Almira, common-born thief, is tasked by Time Weavers Inc or TWI to stop a note falling into the wrong hands. Katz with help from pickpockets and a lord must bring the note to the London War Office. Katz knows that this will be an easy assignment because she can steal with no problems and she doesn’t feel anything. When Katz gets to 1815 London England she meets Lord John “Jack” Byron and the boys, Katz becomes close to them. Katz shares one kiss with Jack and falls hard for him because a love between them is impossibility. Katz knows the time she spends there with Jack and the boys will be ending soon. Jack knows there is something about Katz still wants to be with her and knows he can’t because he is a lord. Katz must return to not only her own time but fix what happened in the past to help the future, but all Katz wants to do is stay with Jack.
What an amazing time travel romantic adventure of a story! Yes, it might have a bit of an Oliver Twist vibe to it but told with a flair and uniqueness all its own! Ms. Lexi Post knows how to tell a fun entrancing tale that pulls you in and doesn’t let up until the very last page. The book moves wonderfully, the writing is crisp and the characters are endearing. Katz the feisty sarcastic heroine might be a thief is just charming and so fun. Sure, she steals things and you might have to be watchful if you want to spend time with her because you know what she might take. Katz will keep you on your toes and you just might end up joining her instead. Jack the stiff aristocratic hero is quite mysterious but it totally works for him. He makes for a fantastic book boyfriend so yes he’s added on the list. You feel sympathy for him yet know that he still is a force to be reckoned with. This is a story well worth a read and definitely a keeper!

It's no secret I love the Regency period in historical romance. I enjoy a good time travel romance and having our heroine go back to a Regency London heavily influenced by Oliver Twist. Katz was spunky and had walled off her emotions after a truly tragic childhood. Being among a group of boys who reminded her of her youth helped open up her heart once again.

I loved the boys. They were adorable and heartbreaking at the same time. To think the children ranging from 6-16 had to live in those circumstances is an unimaginable horror. I was pleased they had good outcomes.

This was a fun, imaginative read. It's part of a series with an overarching plot but each book features a new couple.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lexi Post’s A Pocket in Time is a heart-warming time-travel romance with an intriguing premise that is totally captivating!

As the best pickpocket at Time Weavers, Inc, Katz Almira’s latest mission will take her all the way to Regency London where she will have to steal the note that ruins the world and come back to the present-day without arousing anyone’s suspicion. Katz has certainly got her work cut out for her, but she is sure that she can handle this latest assignment. However, what everybody forgot to mention was the presence of sizzling temptation in the devastatingly handsome form of her prey, Lord John Byron, who looks like he just walked out of one of her steamiest romantic fantasies. John is wealthy, attractive and charismatic who also has a philanthropic side to him as she discovers. When Katz poses as a poor widow, she easily convinces him to help her out and rescue her from the streets. When she pleads with him to keep her hidden, John quickly obliges and takes her to a warehouse full of the orphaned boys he takes care of.

The gods seem to be smiling down on Katz. Not only has John been completely taken in by her, but by taking her to the warehouse she can observe him at close quarters, extract information out of the orphans and observe John as he goes about his business on a daily basis which will bring her closer and closer to finding the note she so desperately seeks. Katz’s job is a difficult and delicate one and she simply cannot afford to take her eye off the ball – so finding herself drawn to her target and unable to stop herself from thinking about him is the kind of distraction she certainly does not need.

But with her deadline fast approaching and a return to her own time imminent, Katz knows that a future with the man who has come to mean the world to her is definitely out of the question. Will love manage to find a way to triumph against all the obstacles standing in their way? Or is a lifetime together for the two of them completely and utterly impossible?

Lexi Post’s A Pocket in Time is a delightful time-travel romance that delivers plenty of emotion, humor, heart and heat in an irresistible tale that sweeps the reader back to the past with a streetwise, smart and intelligent heroine who finds herself falling in love with a gorgeous hero with such depth and charisma readers will struggle not to swoon for.

Lexi Post’s A Pocket in Time uniquely blends elements of contemporary, historical and fantasy romance in a unique and satisfying tale readers will thoroughly enjoy.

The story follows Katz who works for Time Weavers Inc., who is sent back to regency England in order to make sure Lord Byron's note is given to the war office instead of being stolen. But there are some choices she'll need to make or else she change history and the world.

The story has a unique concept and was well written. The details make you feel like you are living in the story. Katz attachment to those in the past is relatable and any one would make the choice to stay with them, even if it meant jeopardy for the world.

My only issue is I felt the story got lost in so many details that it fell a little flat in some parts.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF this book. The premise it so cool, but I just couldn't get into the storyline or connect with the characters. I might try picking up later down the line, but right now it's just kind of slow and I don't really care for the heroine.

This is my first time reading a story by Ms. Post! So glad I decided to read A Pocket in Time!

I loved everything about this story. Traveling back in time to correct the course of history…just loved this!

Katz is getting attached to those she's with to help course correct history. Bending the rules, is she also bending the future in a different way!?!

I will definitely check out other stories by this author. Thank you IndieSage for the introduction!

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

The second book in Time Weavers Inc., A Pocket in Time is a time travel romance and a good follow up to On Highland Time. Deception, intrigue and drama with great characters and an engaging story made this an entertaining read. I look to read more of this series and will recommend to readers.

I really liked A Pocket in Time. I love that this Author uses the Classics and puts her own spin on them. This story is a reimagining of Oliver Twist. This time traveling novel goes from present day back to 1815 Regency England. I just adored the young pickpockets. Katz Almira, our time traveler is a great character that I also enjoyed. Lord Byron is a prize, love him. A very enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to reading more of this Authors work.

Loved Katz and Lord John Bryon’s characters. These two are a great match for each other. Katz is a force to be reckoned with but Lord John is his own force too. This was a fun, sexy and entertaining read with lots of twists. A great addition to the time travel series. This author is great in her writing where the storyline flows perfectly. Anything this author publishes is an automatic one-click for me.

Time travel is always a tricky story concept but I think Lexi Post handles it really well. It makes sense and isn't overly complicated or technical. This is the first book from this series that I have read, so it's possible there was more of an explanation in the first book (which I will definitely be going back to read).

I really enjoyed following Katz and Jack's relationship grow. The circumstance surrounding their meeting was amusing and it was clear they would complement each other nicely right from the beginning. I really liked that Jack truly understood who Katz was as a person and loved her for her. I think part of what made Katz fall in love with Jack was the fact that he didn't try to make her into something she wasn't. And how many men would storm a prison to break out the woman they loved? There are some hints that Jack may have some special powers of his own and I am looking forward to seeing if that is indeed the case. Maybe he and Katz are more meant for one another than their already great love story suggests. The other pickpockets added to the story and I loved each of them. I was so happy when Pip and Toby were given the parents and home they always wanted. I wish we could have learned for sure what happened to the other boys.

My only complaint about the book was that I expected there to be more about the race to find the disrupter. It often felt like an afterthought and made me wonder how good of an agent Katz was if she was so easily distracted from her mission. Finding the letter was more of an accident than a result of her hard work.

I really liked this book. It’s unusual for me to read a time travel book but I did and really enjoyed it. (the fact I am mentioned on the authors note page has nothing to do with this review) Katz as a character easily liked. With her one mission, that has an important end, to travel back in time, steal a note that could ruin the world and get back home…..easy eh??? Seems not in the world of fantasy. I mean, she is supposed to be the best pick pocket at Time weavers. As always, things don’t go to plan, with orphans that she starts to care for and a sexy Lord that she might just fall in love with.

The pace within the story was good and didn’t slow down in places. They both seemed to have their own problems that they had to deal with. Although this was book 2 in the series, each book can be read alone. I couldn’t wait to see who the troublemaker was in the book.
