A sweet romance set against an Alaskan backdrop. This was a quick read for me, the story is exactly what the synopsis says it is and moved pretty quickly from agitation to romance. All together I enjoyed it.

If anyone wants a sweet Alaskan romance, I’d point them to Simple Wild by KA Tucker over this in an instant. This was so incredibly bland and boring, I can’t be bothered to keep reading.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this title, but my reading interests have changed. I will not be finishing this book, but look forward to others in the future.

I am loving the trend of books set in Alaska, and this new series is a great addition for lovers of the North! Mia and Silas were great together. I loved their banter and the tension between them. Can't wait for the rest of the series!

Supermodel Mia Westberg has found herself under the scrutiny of the paparazzi after her much older husband dies and leaves her his fashion house. In order to stay out of the public eye, she packs her things and leaves Los Angeles, escaping to visit her cousin Raven, a shipping expeditor working in a remote part of Alaska—where Mia is sure the tabloids won't follow. But she isn't ready for everything Paradise, Alaska throws at her: the wild animals, insanely harsh weather, and a certain no-nonsense bush pilot.

When pilot Silas Burke flies a beautiful blonde into town, it doesn't take him long to figure her out. She's a spoiled, entitled city girl who has zero business in the rough terrain of Alaska, where the storms are as unforgiving as the dangerous wildlife. After seeing her struggle, and against his better judgment, he helps her acclimate to life in Paradise. But he’s an impatient teacher and she’s a frustrated pupil—and nothing gets them fired up more than each other. Can these two polar opposites find common ground and possibly something more?

Thank you @berkleyromancefor a copy of Match Made in Paradise. I read the second book in the series, Finding Paradise, first so this book felt like a back story for me. Mia escaping to Alaska to avoid the media frenzy from the death of her older husband who was more a friend and mentor. Silas sounds like the perfect rugged Alaskan airman. I enjoyed seeing Mia adapt to living in Alaska and their mutual attraction.

“She was an ice-princess’s ice-princess.”

I really loved this one! Mia, a wealthy widow from LA, is being sued by her stepchildren for control of their father/her late husbands company. And people want Mia OUT. After death threats are made, she packs up her things and flies to Alaska to stay with her cousin Raven. What could go wrong with an LA girl in the wilds of Alaska? A lot. A real lot.

This book was just fabulous. I started it months ago, put it down because…I don’t even know why 🤦🏼‍♀️, and then noticed I never finished it. But it is a testament to the writing that, when I did pick it back up, I was right back in Alaska. I could still visualize the characters and what the landscape looked like and I finished it that day!

I really enjoyed watching Silas, the manly Alaskan pilot, soften up in Mia’s presence. Watching a tough woman go toe to toe with a tough man is always entertaining and these two did not disappoint. I have an arc for the second in this series, Finding Paradise, and will be starting as soon as the holidays are over and I am Christmas storied out.

Thank you to Netgalley, Berkley Publishing, and the author for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Hallmark movie meets book form.

I was sent a widget for this thanks to Berkley. Normally I love anything berkley romance. This didn’t do it for me.

Mia claims to love her husband of 9 years that JUST died, yet she has feelings and then ends up marrying this guy she never is even in a true relationship with? I don’t buy it. Also very closed door romance, fade to black, which isn’t my thing. I need a little steam and tension to believe the romance, even if it fades to black. I didn’t get that from this.

This is a charming and sweet opposites attract romance. Socialite widow and supermodel inherits a fashion empire . To get away from the stress of the legal battle with her dead husbands children she goes to Alaska to visit a cousin. There she meets rugged Alaskan Bush Pilot Silas who thinks she’s a spoiled brat.. that’s where this delightful story takes off with great secondary characters as well.

Mia is a model and the new sole owner of a fashion house that she inherited after her husband dies. Under a lot of paparazzi scrutiny, she flees to Paradise, Alaska to stay with her cousin until things calm down. Silas, a bush pilot, has the pleasure of taking Mia to her new digs and things get off on the wrong foot, especially when Mia thinks he’s a serial killer (that part was hilarious). Mia tries to fit in, but she encounters everything from wild animals, harsh conditions, and a no nonsense attractive pilot. Can she fit in and fight her attraction to Silas? After all she’s only there temporarily...
.
This book was a quick fun read! I will never tire of the opposites attract trope, especially when it’s clear that there’s chemistry! There’s some steam in the book, but it’s mostly a closed door romance. I’m excited for the next book in the series.

Match Made In Paradise
By Barbara Dunlop

This was such a charming and sweet romance about an LA supermodel/socialite Mia Westberg who tried to escape the tough media circus after her husband dies and she inherits a fashion empire. She ends up in Paradise, Alaska and meets a bush pilot Silas Burke who pegged her for a spoiled rich brat. This opposites attract romance definitely delivered. I found this to be a wonderful escape read that I really enjoyed. I look forward to the next installments in the series.

Was I immediately attracted to this because it seemed similar to The Simple Wild series? Yes. Did it differ enough to make me feel like I was in a completely different place while getting my Alaska fix? Yes.

This was cute, readable, closed door and made me want to read on. I love when a book easily sets up a series, and this did it.

My only complaint was that there was a bit too much pilot/plane talk and I ended up skimming a lot of it. Otherwise cute!

Thank you to the publisher for my review copy.

I love Alaska. I love books set in Alaska. I love thinking I could actually move to Alaska. The backdrop is always delightful.

The first book in this series was delightful. It was completely predictable and honestly....I felt some things a little hard to believe. But cute, sweet.

Not super spicy. Very closed door romance...which was fine.

I am not sure I will rush to read book two. I might...hard to say.

If you enjoy quick, sweet reads with a lovely setting...pick this one up!

A book set in Alaska? I'm sold! this book was such a cozy read. I loved Silas so much- he might be up there with my one true love from The Simple Wild. Cannot wait to read more of this series.

This was a cute romance read that was set in Alaska. I am a sucker for romance books set in Alaska for some reason. I didn't love the romance as much as I wanted to but if you just need a quick romance book to get you by this is one to read!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up Match Made in Paradise by Barbara Dunlop to review; a new to me author, but I was intrigued by the synopsis and after a trip to Alaska a few years back where we went out with a bush pilot I had to see how this one played out. I was not disappointed; in fact I can’t wait to see how the rest of this series plays out after this strong first book.

After the death of her much older husband, Mia Westberg is being crucified in the media and taken to court by his grown children over the company she fully intended to run after his death. On the advice of her attorney and friend, she leaves L.A. and heads to visit her cousin in Paradise, Alaska, not fully realizing how remote it will be or how rustic the accommodations are. A fish out of water, Mia is soon proving she may have been a well known supermodel, but she is made of sterner stuff than anyone gave her credit for especially grumpy bush pilot Slias.

Silas Burke can’t believe Mia is his friend and co-worker Raven’s cousin, and he’s afraid Mia will throw as fit when she has to leave some of her expensive luggage behind on the last leg of her journey to Paradise but she doesn’t which is one point in her favor. While he is attracted to her like all the other men in Paradise, he isn’t going to let a pampered pretty woman distract him or keep him from the life he’s built and loves.

Mia is a bit of a fish out of water and Silas loves reminding her about all the ways she doesn’t fit in Alaska, but she is also drawn to the rugged, curmudgeon pilot. I loved watching Mia become more confident in her ability to contribute and settle into the Alaskan lifestyle and seeing how she made everyone realize that judging her by her looks and her past was just as bad as people judging them.

Match Made In Paradise was a brilliantly told story filled with friendship, laughter, and emotion. From start to finish I was thoroughly engaged and I am already eagerly anticipating the next book in this series!

This hit the spot for perfect rainy day weekend reading. I like stories that take place in Alaska and I enjoyed the 'big city girl goes to small town and meets a sexy mountain man' trope. Recommended if you are in the mood for a light and fun contemporary romance!

A fun sweet story full of surprises. I loved the two main characters and the side characters were just as interesting. As a pilot I also liked true to life the aviation was. First in a series I am ready for book 2 out in November

- I loved this book! It reminded me so much of The Simple Wild, but with a totally new story. I loved getting to know Silas and Mia, and imagine the gorgeous wilderness in rural Paradise, Alaska.
