This book was too short for my liking.
We finally get a strong plot, fantastic writing, and a swoon-worthy couple, all for it to end so quickly. *Sigh*
.
I was in love with both characters throughout, their adoration and love for each other were so achingly precious. Not many authors are capable of writing feelings and thoughts so vivid you can visualize them. Kerrigan Byrne totally managed this feat.
.
Mercy was such a loveable, fierce, intelligent character that you can't help but fall in love with. I started to like her from the very beginning when she analysed the murder scene, and gave reasons for her conclusions.
Her love and attraction to Raphael was super adorable and lovely to read. She this air about her that was part shy, and part curious and bold.
.
Raphael, tho... He was the death of me. He was the epitome of bad boy with golden heart. What made him distinctive and different from other love interest was, how beautiful his live for Mercy. Usually, with this kind of character, the attraction is mostly lust, and the romance comes as a second stage. Here, though, Raphael was more taken by her personality. He was definitely appreciative if her looks, but that wasn't the only thing he noticed about her.
His declarations of love and devotion thorough the book were so beautiful, and you could feel how gone he was for her.
.
I'm definitely looking forward to reading Felicity's and Gabriel story!!

This third series installments has a murder mystery in addition to the romance in a well paced plot with interesting characters. Their names are a bit to on the nose, but it's a fun read.

This was so good! I really enjoyed the two characters and it had enough romance and mystery to keep me hooked! I just wish it would have been longer but I would definitely recommend.

I love Kerrigan Byrne books! Mercy Goode is definitely my favorite! Romance and mystery! Fast paced, great dialogue. A must read!

4.5 Stars
‘Dancing with Danger’, the third book in the ‘Goode Girls’ Series, was such an enjoyable read. I loved so many things about it - interesting characters, clever heroine, sexy hero, witty banter, and good ol’ whodunit. I hardly noticed that I had basically devoured the book until I reached around 70% in one sitting.

This was a short book, so things were fast-paced. I would have liked it to be longer because so many things were going on it felt rushed at moments. I would have liked to read more of Raphael and Mercy’s relationship (I can never get tired of their banter) and Mercy’s sleuthing.

All in all, this is one book you shouldn’t miss out on.

Another great read from Byrne. Raphael Sauvageau and Mercy are such a good pair. I would like books in this series a to be a little bit longer because.... well, I can't deny their chemistry, but their insta-love... not so believable,

I just realized that I am not a fan of insta-love. The characters fell in love way to quick for my taste. Everything else that ensued made no sense.

I received this book thanks to the publisher & net galley. I thought I posted a review quite a while ago, but it appears to have gone missing...

Anyway, this was such a delightful (the banter!), but at times too fast moving book... but I think that was largely because of a MAJOR plot point that was time sensitive. I highly recommend starting at the beginning of the series because there are very relevant characters that it is helpful if you are introduced to them before reading this one.

I didn’t really care for this book. I felt it was super slow and it took me forever to get through the first few chapters. If I didn’t have to leave a review I probably wouldn’t have finished it. Mercy and Raphael didn’t seem like a good match they just lusted after each other.

If you're searching for angsty historical romance, you'll never go wrong with Kerrigan Byrne. Her heroes are always deliciously wicked.

Raphael and Mercy are an unlikely pair, but that's what makes them so perfect. A bluestocking sleuth and a dangerous smuggler, they must work together to solve a murder, but sparks fly in the process. SPARKS FLY. Byrne writes steam SO WELL. Their passion, their banter, their everything--I couldn't get enough. My only complaint is that their story was so short. It felt a bit rushed, and I'm not the hugest fan of insta-love. But still--Dancing with Danger is a great third addition to the Goode Girls series, and I'm looking forward to the next book featuring Mercy's twin Felicity.

Seriously, if you love the Bareknuckle Bastards trilogy by Sarah MacLean and are looking for your next historical romance featuring a dashing anti-hero, look no further than Kerrigan Byrne.

The good girl and the bad boy. It's a theme I seem to get drawn into a lot. While the chemistry between Mercy and Raphael could be more developed, the back-and-forth between the two of them was well done and kept me smiling. This book is one of a series and I'm interested in seeing what adventures Kerrigan Byrne has in store for her other characters.

I'll always love Kerrigan Byrne, even when her books are more like novellas.

This series is following the 4 Goode sisters, and this is Mercy's book. She's not like other girls, in the same way that all historical romance heroines are. She's a strong main character, and I think that plays well into her romance with Raphael. Raphael is the notorious player, but it doesn't fall in the tropes that you would expect. I think the fact that it was so short pulled me out of the story and moved it too fast, but I'll always enjoy Kerrigan Byrne.

I enjoyed this new installment of the Goode Girls! I loved the feisty heroine and the moody hero, though the story felt a little rushed. I like instalove stories but would have liked to spend a little more time with them. This book wasn't as dark as many of the author's other books (all of which seem to involve tortured heroes or heroines and/or very dark storylines), and felt felt simpler and more breezy and enjoyable. I must be getting old though - the heroine seemed very young and a little immature. I'll read anything by this author though, and can't wait for Felicity's story!

Dancing with Danger is exposition-heavy, which is not unusual in a series, but rehashing old news is tiresome. The "mystery" is less mysterious than expected and the family dynamic is generic but touching. The instant love connection between Mercy and Raphael is hard to believe, but their chemistry is not. Off the charts heat, which makes this a satisfying read. Simplistic but passionate.

Get ready for a exhilarating ride with Mercy Goode and the match she never expected...

This book was everything you want in a romance! Action, adventure, steam and heat for days, and a touch for a mystery that our heroine uncovers along the way.

While this is a continuation from the previous book in the series, it can stand on its own. The male lead is the notorious criminal Raphael Sauvageau, Lord of the Fauves. He has only one love, his brother, and he's willing to die for him until he meets Mercy.

Mercy is as outspoken as she is beautiful. Her modern views and courage cannot be tamed or tempered. Meeting Raphael changes Mercy's view of what good and bad look like and causes a chain reaction of epic proportions.

I could not put this one down! The characters are so rich and vibrantly written. They easily could've stepped out of the book.

The plotline is perfect for the leads, and I look forward to the next in the series. The steamy scenes will take your breath away. Also the male lead is French, and oo la la, does he utter the best lines to his female lead! Get me a fan! It's hot in here!

Definitely worth the read. Kerrigan does not disappoint!

Another great installment in the Goode Girl series by Byrne. This is Mercy and Raphael's story. Mercy is good at finding mischief and gets arrested at a murder scene with Raphael. She has evidence he isn't the killer.
Mercy keeps showing up where she doesn't belong trying to be an amateur sleuth. There is an undeniable attraction that they can't fight.

AM DONE!! And am hooked by this series. After the adventure of Honoria - Nora - the oldest Goode girls, here's Mercy's who fell in love with the villain, Raphael. Well actually it was Rafael who put his cap for Mercy first. The independent girl is such a fresh air to normal pompous English royalties, that makes me turn the pages for more.

Usually I'm not keen on the villain-heroine alliance, but this one is well spun that somehow I reached the end of the novel so quickly.

Now let's start Felicity's ...................

Thanks to the publisher, Netgalley and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As usual, this author has delivered great romance and touching moments dotted with humour. This is the third book in the series and my favourite so far. Mercy is a gutsy heroine with a strong independent streak and her hero is at a loss how to deal with her. Apart from kissing her senseless at every opportunity ... only partly to shut her up I suspect.

This is the most fun out of the three books I have read so far. Eagerly anticipating the 4th book.

This book follows Mercy Goode and I adore her! She's daring and doesn't have the patience to play games and when a friend is found dead (murdered), she is determined to figure out who killed her. When Raphael Sauvageau reveals himself at the scene of the crime, Mercy quickly becomes motivated to figure out his connection.

Raphael may be my favorite...at least until Byrne makes me fall for another of her characters. He has a past and it's clear he and his brother didn't have an easy childhood. I love that he loves his brother and the way he and Mercy are when they are together was fantastic.

As the story progresses, we learn much more about Raphael and what he is up to. When Mercy inserts herself right into the middle of his plans, things shift and everything changes for them both. I loved the ending to this book and can't wait for Felicity's story and learning more about Gabriel. And anything that comes next. I also have to say, I love it when characters from past books make it into the current story and we get a bit of Pru, Morley, and Titus in this book.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy in exchange for an honest review.

It was a well written adventurous romp. I enjoyed both characters, that being said it could have been more of a slow burn. Everything happened incredibly fast in this book. There wasn’t enough time for me to really sit in my feelings about Mercy and Raphael. It was sexy, it was fun, it was good, but it could have been more. Excited to read the next book in the Goode series.
