Pitter, patter goes the rain is a cute book for young children about a boy who plays in the rain with his dog. It would be exciting to read on a rainy day.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I think this was such a cute book! The illustrations are adorable. I am a sucker for sweet children's books including pets. I think kids relate to that as well.
Bottom line -- Really cute and adorable book with great illustrations.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was really cute. A little lyrical with adorable illustrations. I can see this delighting kids for years to come. A timeless story and perfect to read in the spring.
A cute book with short phrases that young children can practice reading. The book goes through an adventure and what animals do when it rains. The illustrations are adorable!
Not very impressed. The illustrations are a bit muddy, and the story itself seems very familiar. Simple rhymes, but not a smooth read aloud style. Just not for me.
This is a sweet book with darling illustrations. Unfortunately, the rhyming didn’t quite work. Perhaps, a few repeating phrases that young children could chime in with “reading” could have been more effective. Cute book though.
A rainy day book. A fun book for young children to learn about rainy days and how the animals deal with rain. The illustrations are very colorful. My daughter thought they were pretty pictures and loved the dog especially. I am not sure where the boat in the story comes from but just a minor thing. I can definitely see reading this book to my kids again and again.
PITTER, PATTER ,GOES THE RAIN - Ellen DeLange.
A beautifully, pleasing to the eye illustrated book about a boy and his dog who set out to explore a rainy day and how they come across various insects and animals who take shelter in the rain.
What I loved about this book is the use of onomatopoeia. The rhyming in the book could have been little better. But the best part of the book is that it teaches young kids to be kind and helpful to tiny creatures which are out in the open and also pushes them to be explorers.
Best suited to toddlers and preschoolers. My 6 year old enjoyed it thoroughly.
Thank you clavis publishing for this super book.
Pitter, patter, goes the rain by Ellen DeLange is a beautifully illustrated picture book. Children of all ages will find the drawings engaging with lots to discover. As a young child and her doggy pal explore the outside during a gentle summer rain, they find a variety of woodland creatures who are happy and not so happy with the rainstorm. The story flows easily when read aloud, basic rhyming and alliteration are used to create the flow of words.
An adorable rhyming picture book about a child and dog who enjoy puddles! In this book we also learn about what other creatures do when it rains. A very fun book for kids!
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
My little sister and I love this book. The illustrations are beautiful, the puppy in his raincoat is the most beautiful thing in life.
The story is about a girl and her puppy who go for a walk in the rain. The only question that remained unsolved was: what is the dog's name? my sister won't rest until she knows ... and neither will I.
There is something about the rain that attract kiddos and with this adorable read, there will be a greater attraction. The illustrations are winsome and the wording is engaging. It makes a rainy day one of the best days. Especially for reading.
A special thank you to Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Cute book with cute pictures! What I really liked about the book is how the author has mentioned the tiny beings from ants and bugs to worms and slugs. It can make a great impact on the little readers and teach them a thing or two about kindness to all creatures, big or small. The various sounds on a rainy day are beautifully captured in a way that is endearing to the little ears. I'd give 4.5 stars for this one!
A rhythmic little story about rain and the animals and insects around us. Nice rhyming poetry that goes along with cute, playful illustrations.
Pitter, Patter, Goes the Rain is the cutest little book! I enjoyed the simple rhyme and the beautiful illustrations. I also loved that it teaches children to care about the little bugs. This book is recommended for ages four and up, but I read this with my three year old niece and she loved it, especially since it has been raining cats and dogs for days! I can't wait to add this precious book to our collection at the library!
A child and their dog go out to play in the rain. Discovery little creatures and what they do in the rain. Even helping a few. Running home to clean up and warm up. Settling in for the night.
A fun adventure, as every child should experience stomping in rain puddles.
A cute story about a kid and their dog having an adventure out in the rain. Good rhyming words and vocabulary. My two year old loved the pictures but so did my four year old, so it’s perfect for young toddlers and preschoolers alike. Good book for a spring unit for preschool.
This book was precious. The celebration of the rain and all of its beauty was truly heartwarming. I loved the art style. The bugs all looked very sweet, and this story reminded me of so many that I loved growing up. The rhyme scheme felt like the pitter patter of rain which I also greatly enjoyed.
As someone who has a dog, this book is absolutely adorable.
This will be perfect for children who love animals and is the perfect bedtime story!!
As parent, we hear way too often how children are not spending enough time outside with grandiose claims, some scientifically sound others overexaggerated, of the detrimental affects of this new modern reality. But as parents, we also have seen reluctant children to go outside when the weather is less than ideal, which let's be real, is probably majority of the time for those of us not blessed, or cursed, with living in California, Hawaii or some tropical island with year-round magnificent weather. This is where this book comes in. As story told from the perspective of a little child and his dog, on all the wonders waiting to be experienced in on a rainy day. As a parent, living in a particularly rainy part of our world, I am most grateful for this book. The rhyming text, for me, was icing on the cake.
