I can’t tell you how much I am a fan of this series and was jumping for joy that I got a ARC for it. The book was not a let down compared to the past installments to the series. We follow the story through the eyes of Lady Tremaine, a sad and lonely widowed wife who one day meets a fairytale charming prince. Reading and seeing the thoughts of Lady Tremaine of what happened to her all those years ago that lead to her cold hearted self was amazingly done. I loved how different Tremaine story was compared to the last installments we have had in this series. In the end Serena Valentino did successfully make me feel bad for Lady Tremaine because of they way she was treated in the end. I thought the pacing was nicely done besides the end which felt a little rushed. I loved Lady Tremaines POV as I have stated before and Drizella and Anastasia were also fun to read. Overall this was 4.5/5 stars for me rounded up and will for sure be one of my top books of 2021.

*Review will be posted on ,B&N and Amazon June 29th and on Goodreads February 24th

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC!

Cold hearted has to be my favorite of the Villains series that I have read so far. Something about this book was different than the others I’ve read. I felt as thought it was more well written and the storyline was more it’s own. Cold hearted follows Lady Tremaine and the “ugly” stepsisters. In the beginning of the book they start out as the innocent / the victims but soon turn into the villains.
It was a new and fresh take on the Cinderella story. We get to see what happened Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters!

4/5 glass slippers for me!

Another amazing glance into a villain, which really makes you wonder if we should be hating them as much as we do! A fun, insightful what if doe kiddos who wonder why villains are so mean and cruel! A great addition to a riveting, fun, and a bit sad series! I think kiddos are going to truly love this, as they loved the precious ones and will likely have some compassion for characters they once deemed horrid! Highly recommend for the kiddos and adults who love Disney, especially villains, but cannot help wonder why are they so mean? Recommend starting with book one!

I have been reading this series since the very first one about the Beast came out, so I was absolutely THRILLED to have been chosen to receive an ARC of this one! It definitely did not disappoint. It drew me in from the get go, and only good writers can make you sympathize with an otherwise evil villain! Cant wait to see what else is to come!

This is my first read in the Villains series and I have to say that I am ready to go back and read all of them! This book drew me in from the very beginning and kept my attention to the very end. Of course, I am a Disney fan at heart and getting to see where the Villains were before they became Villains is pretty interesting to me. I know these are just fictitious stories, but hey! Why not dream right?

Lady Tremaine was not always as cold hearted as we see her in the movie Cinderella. In fact, she wasn't cold hearted at all and let Drizella and Anastasia get away with anything and everything. I love how Serena Valentino tells the story of Lady Tremaine before she was the Lady Tremaine that we came to know in the movie.

We all know the story of Cinderella, but I am not going to give anything away in my review of this book. Serena Valentino has a way of making all of this seem so real that you feel caught up in this whole Magic Kingdom yourself. Very well done and I can't wait to go back and read the other seven books before this one and look forward to more to come! Thanks for fueling my love of Disney Serena Valentino!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all my opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book! Go read it! You won't regret it!

Cold Hearted is a fantastic story about the life of Lady Tremaine and her daughters before they came to infamously known as Cinderella's evil stepmother and stepsisters. This may have been my first time reading one of Serena Valentino's Villains' series but it most certainly won't be my last.

I am a huge Disney fan and could re-watch their fairytale classics over and over again so I was so interested in reading a Villains story. This book really provides a backstory of Lady Tremaine and her daughters, Drizella and Anastasia. The author shows how the main character is so normal and nice. Before she comes to meet Cinderella's father, she is just a woman who is trying to deal with the loss of her husband and keep her daughters well-taken care of.

As the story goes on, readers will see how many warnings she headed about entering the Many Kingdoms and marrying Sir Richard, Cinderella's dad. It is easy to feel for Lady Tremaine in the beginning but ultimately we all know that in the end, she is the evil stepmother.

I give Cold Hearted 5 stars. Any Disney fan will enjoy getting to read the origin story of Lady Tremaine and how she came into Cinderella's life. It's interesting, entertaining, and will keep readers engaged. I am looking forward to reading more from Serena Valentino.

What a fabulous take on the backstory of Madame Tremaine! The pacing and plot points were good. I haven't read the previous story (I have read the beginning of the series) and in this case I felt like I was missing info. The previous stiries , while they connected a bit, were easily standalone. This one has some moments where I felt lost due to missing the books previous. My only complaints are that the villain is really not villainous enough to deserve the harsh ending. I also felt the reconciliation a bit contrite and the ending rushed. Overall, a great story till the unsatisfying end.

I'd like to thank #NetGalley for letting me read an ARC of #Cold Hearted! I adore Disney books and the Villains series is one of my absolute favorites. I was able to finish this book in under 24 hours I really loved it which says a lot because I don't really care for the story of Cinderella very much. I was intrigued to learn of Lady Tremaine's past and I very much enjoyed the kind and intelligent person she was made out to be before moving to the Many Kingdoms. I continue to be intrigued by the Fairies in these books, I can't decide if they are truly as good as they seem or not but maybe that's the point? That fairies even Godmothers can make mistakes as well. Learning about Cinderella's father was something else entirely. We don't really know all that much about him and in Cold Hearted you really get to know what he is like and it explains a lot. The Odd Sisters and Circe continue to be intricately woven through these tales. I enjoyed the mentions of the other stories, of Queen Belle and of Rapunzel who in this story was still trapped in the tower. Anastasia and Drizella were so excited about a new life in the Many Kingdoms, this story shows how sometimes the best of intentions can turn into a terrible situation but you have to try and push through and do your best. I of course recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this series or loves the story of Cinderella or for that matter loves Villians. I want to thank #NetGalley once again for letting me read #Cold Hearted by #SerenaValentino. It comes out June 29th 2021 please give it a read!

This book was received as an ARC from Disney Publishing Worldwide - Disney-Hyperion in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I don't ever think Serena Valentino has written a horrible Disney Villains novel yet and it is most certainly not this one. The one thing I love most about this series is Serena goes in depth of the Villain's upbringing and is very detailed of what made them who they are and it was no different for Lady Tremaine. I loved how the book began and ended and reading Lady Tremaine's story I felt as the reader, questions were being answered and my jaw dropped wide open. We have gotten all of the books in the Villains series in our collection and we can't wait to add Cold Hearted to that collection.

We will consider adding this title to our YA collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Disney fans, this one's for you. Remember Cinderella and her horrible stepmother and stepsisters? The original story just didn't get it right. Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drizella are the focus of this story, about their lives before Lady Tremaine met Cinderella's father and married him. And then it's all downhill from there. CInderella isn't as sweet as those fairy tales would leave you to believe! And evil stepmother and stepsisters? As if! Things are not always as they seem in the Many Kingdoms and with this tale, you'll leasrn all about how terribly Lady Tremaine and her girls were treated. Another fantastic story in the Villains series from Serena Valentino.
