I requested this book on behalf of my high school age son who has recently become interested in stocks. I ended up spending some time going through this book with him and I will admit that I learned a lot! I am not one that typically get into the stock market, but this book made it easy to understand an follow how to invest in stocks. I ended up buying him a hard copy for reference as he continues to buy and sell stocks.

I am not an investor -- however, I do work in a bank (in a completely unrelated area), and enjoy trying to learn more things about finance. This book gave me a nice introduction to some basic concepts of investing - which learning more about is sort of a goal of mine. I appreciate the basics overview.

A great beginners guide to investing. It's filled with great tidbits, tips and easy to digest. As an investor myself, I enjoyed reading a 20th century book on this topic. I have been teaching my 22 year old son how to invest and will be purchasing this book for him.

A fantastic read for beginners and those of us who needed some personal updating.

As a beginner investor this book was concise and easy to understand. I learned the basics and a little bit more. All of my questions were answered and I didn't have to wade through the web to get terms and concepts defined succinctly.

How to Invest in Stocks, A Beginner´s Guide to Making Money in the Stock Market and Managing Risk is a brief and easy to read book for the new investor. All chapters are well argued for and are relevant for beginners even though they get a bit repetitive. However, one can argue repetitiveness in the world of finance can be the way to success as readers try to grasp all subjects and improve knowledge of the markets.

In comparison to other finance books, this one missed a few things. For instance, this book is published in 2021 and it does not mention tools such as Twitter and podcasts, which are trending at the moment. I would also have liked to see more graphs and charts to illustrate ideas that might be hard to grasp.

Another issue that I experienced with the book and might set the new investor on the wrong course is the big focus given to a company´s stock price. In my view, the stock price is a secondary effect of what you should be focused on. In fundamental analysis it is not a great stock performance that generates a good business, it is a great business that generates a good stock price.

Overall, the book provides a lot of good tips and recommendations on how to start investing.

Thank for the publishing house and Netgalley for providing the free version of the book.

The book consists of 9 chapters, each focusing on one aspect of investment, starting with basic vocabulary. The language of the book is simple and undestandable, and the text was professionally edited.

However, I rate the book by 4 stars because of one crucial note. The book is focused on US financial market only, thus, while basics are the same in the field, some regulations and investing strategies may differ from other parts of the world. I think this information is important enough to be mentioned in the summary of the book, provided by the publisher.

Thank you to both #NetGalley and Amakella Publishing/IBPA for providing me an advance copy of Rodolfo Tello’s guide, How to Invest in Stocks, in exchange for an honest review.

#HowtoInvestinStocks is exactly as advertised: a beginner’s guide on how to invest in stocks. The guide prefaces that it is meant to be used as an educational tool for learning the basics and not as an in-depth study of investing. It is divided into nine chapters, starting with a discussion of investing in the stock market and concluding with a chapter on getting ready to invest.

I cannot stress enough that this guide provides an extremely basic overview of the stock market. In other words, if you know virtually anything about the stock market (e.g., definitions, market theory, analyzing risks, etc.), then you may want to check out some of the resources that the author recommends instead. This is for readers who know absolutely nothing about stocks or investing.

Also, though the guide is written in clear and precise language, the information is very cut and dry. It is essentially akin to reading a textbook or dictionary definition. Thus, if you are someone who learns by way of fun examples, this guide is not for you. On the other hand, if you need something to skim during your morning commute and are looking for a simple overview of how the stock market works, then this is your guide.
