Accidentally requested this one, so I didn't actually get a chance to read it. It looked like an interesting story though. Love the integration of faith and fitness.
This book is a guide to bringing spirituality into your running practice. It was written by a catholic priest, so it may not appeal to all. I was drawn to the book looking for insight into combining the physical and mental aspects of running from a faith based perspective. It hits the mark.
Running for a Higher Purpose by Most Rev. Thomas John Paprocki is a terrific resource for those who would like to elevate their running to a spiritual plane.
The Catholic bishop of Springfield, Illinois, an accomplished marathon runner, offers insights on how to combine exercise with prayer in order to grow closer to God.
The author provides a game plan for reaching the heights of both physical and spiritual fitness.
If you are a runner with a strong faith this book will likely be a godsend to you as you attempt to improve your pace--both on your running course and in your pathway to God.
Interesting read about how a priest combines running and faith. Loved reading his story and reading about the connection he makes between physical and spiritual health. He (naturally, being a priest) comes from a perspective of Catholic theology (so i would differ on some things) and it does account for quite a large proportion of the book.
