I adored this author’s Christmas novel, Home for the Holidays, so I couldn’t have been happier to read the latest instalment in the Juniper Springs series. These characters felt like old friends and I just loved seeing where they had ended up since the last book. I adore the setting of these books and wish I could actually visit Juniper Springs. The inclusion of Aunt Sassy’s perspective in this book was a very welcome addition for me, being my favourite character from the first book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope there’s more to come from this wonderful bunch of ladies.

knew I needed to squeeze this one into my summer reading and it was the perfect one to end August with.

This is book two in Juniper Springs series but could definitely be read as a stand alone. I loved Home for the Holidays and loved this one just as much.

This is a feel good read. Hallmark-ish without the cheese - a small town story, with sprinkles of slow burn love stories and family coming together throughout. I would definitely read even more of the Buchanan sisters.

Thanks to Read Forever for the #gifted book!

I absolutely adored this story. Sara Richardson is such a great writer. The Buchanan sisters were so relatable. I definitely recommend this for womens fiction fans.

I enjoyed Home for the Holidays and this was a great follow up! I continued to like the different POV from each sister. I love the themes of family and community in this series. The balance of romance in this women's fiction is just right - important to the story but not the central focus. Wonderful series - reading the first is a must to enjoy and understand the second book. If you like Kristan Higgins or Sarah Morgan, you’d enjoy this series!

Has anyone else been in the mood for cozy, comfort reads lately? My anxiety has been through the roof again so I’ve been craving a pure escape when I read and this one was such a delight. It’s set in Colorado and follows three sisters as they’re about to have a grand reopening of The Juniper Inn. I love a multigenerational story and besides Rose, Dahlia and Magnolia there’s also their aunt Sassy and their mother Lillian. There was plenty going on here plot wise since each sister has some sort of romantic storyline and Lillian and Sassy have a decades long feud. So there’s romance and family drama all in an idyllic, quaint setting that I couldn’t get enough of. I really hope there’s a third book coming up because I love this little family! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Summer Sisters is a heartwarming tale of family, transformation and finding love and yourself in the process. It was a delight to follow Rose on her journey to leave behind a relationship and rebuild her aunt Sassy’s in to honor her childhood memories. While her sister Dahlia moves there to help her sister while starting over with her two kids after her husband’s infidelity. The two sister share a unique bond and are enjoying their time with their Aunt. Their mother, on the other hand, doesn’t seem quite so ready to make amends with her estranged sister. All leading up to a surprise grand opening and birthday celebration each woman finds themselves in their own budding relationships and it was so fun to see them all play out. This is a quick, enjoyable and uplifting read that focuses on the joy of family and the freedom of forgiveness.

This is the 2nd book in a series and I have not read the first but I had no problem at all diving in and enjoying this great read!

A very well-written story, in third person with alternating narration. Easy to follow the story. The pacing of the story was perfect, it kept my attention and flowed smoothly. The characters are so vivid and I really didn't want this story to end. Sara Richardson is a new to me author, but I will be searching for more great reads from her!

I recommend this book, a great vacation read!

Another fabulous trip to Juniper Springs. I really enjoyed this one maybe even more than Home for the Holidays. It was great to catch up with each sister and loved exploring the relationship between the aunt and the mom - sisters everywhere!

I hope there is more of this delightful series.

I really loved being back at Juniper Inn with the Buchanan sisters.
We get some sweet and funny scenes between Rose and Colt.
Sweet and angsty for Dahlia and Ike.
And Sassy and Lillian both get love interests.

Rose has been working on updating the Inn and hoping to get most of it done before her Aunt Sassy returns from her road trip with Colt. Who she's very much like to see after his time away with Sassy.

Dahlia and her kids have finally made the move to Colorado. She can't wait to see Ike and spend time with him. But she's also nervous.

The sisters are determined to get their mother to reconcile with her sister Sassy. All those plans are thrown off when Sassy returns early and they try to keep their mother from finding out and leaving town.

It was fun to return to Juniper Springs and the Buchanan sisters (mostly just two of them). I absolutely loved a few of the plotlines in this book and a couple of others irked me a bit, but overall, this was a fun and light-hearted book that put a smile on my face...what more can you ask of a summer read?!

Reads as a standalone but might be more enjoyable if you've read the first in this series first.

What a delightful read! I officially want to move to the small town of Juniper Springs and stay in the Christmas themed cabins!

If you read Home For The Holidays, the Christmas novel from this author, this story is the follow up in the series. The Buchanan sisters inherited an inn from their Aunt Sassy and, in this story, are completing renovations and getting ready for a grand re-opening. But when their Mother Lillian (Sassy's sister) shoes up in town unannounced it throws a wrench in the plans. Sassy and Lillian havn't spoken since the girls were young.

I adore this family! The sisters all have such unique and fun personalities and they are as strong separately as they are together. Aunt Sassy is just the sweetest! Even the side characters are a real treat and have so much heart! I even find myself loving the moody town coffee shop owner!

This was such a great follow up to the first novel and I honestly want more from this family! While this is the second book in the series, I do believe it could be read as a stand alone as well. I would highly recommend picking up both books!

I can't lie. I wasn't expecting a direct sequel to the first book in this series when I heard about it. I thought it would be a companion novel! It's fun to see these characters again after the holiday book last year.
I think that Richardson knows how she wants things to go, and this family saga continues to keep my interest. Can't wait to see if there is more to come!

I just loved this book so much! I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Home For The Holidays, so I was so excited to read this one. I am so glad to say I loved it just as much as the first one! It was so much fun to catch up with the sisters again.

This book is the perfect wholesome small town sisters fiction. This is the perfect summertime read. I love the small town cozy vibes in this book. This would make the perfect Hallmark movie. The book is told in multiple POVs, so you really get to know each character and their stories. They are all such great and lovable characters! This story will bring a smile to your face. I highly recommend checking this series out, but I do suggest reading them in order to connect with the story more.

This is the second book in the Juniper Springs series. Rose and her sister Dahlia have relocated to the majestic mountain town of Juniper Springs. As they work to renovate their aunt Sassy’s inn the sisters plot to bring an end to the estrangement between their mother and aunt. It is a heartwarming story of sisters, family secrets, restoration and love (with just a touch of small town politics) that had me smiling from the first page. “The Juniper Springs Inn has a history of giving people a refuge from the chaos.” Similarly, this book is a happy escape from the chaos of reality. If you’re looking for a fun and predictable read with a focus on second chances at romance, this will not disappoint.

I saw a fair amount of people reading books for Christmas in July this year and this book would make an interesting addition! No, This book doesn't take place at Christmas but this multi-generational feel-good family story has all the makings of a true warm-your-heart Hallmark Christmas movie AND The inn has a Christmas decoration theme.

Sara Richardson is one of my favourite authors. I get so excited whenever I have the chance to pick up her books. They feel whimsical, romantic and fun. I hate romance novels that bore me - I want the joy of being whisked away on a romantic adventure (like a swash buckling pirate wants to go on a ship and sail across the sea). Every time I pick up Sara's books, it feels like home. I'm free to enjoy the romance and smile. These are the kind of books I LOVE.

This book was no different! I'm super glad I picked this book up because it was such a gem. I read the original book of this series, so it was no problem for me going for round two. I do recommend picking up the first book if you get the chance, because a lot goes on in the first novel (and man am I glad it continued - so many ways this could have gone!).

New relationships, new adventures and a whole lot of spunk fills this book. It's a heartwarming, drama-filled, women's fiction novel. These women grow and learn - which is exactly what I want. Give me more! I love it.

Four out of five stars.

Sarah Richardson’s Home for the Holidays was one of my favorite holiday reads last year. I loved the Buchanan sisters and their delightful Aunt Sassy! The Summer Sisters is the second book in the Juniper Springs series – and FABULOUS is the best way to describe it!
The Summer Sisters continues the storyline from Home for the Holidays. Rose and Dahlia Buchanan have relocated to Colorado and are restoring the cabins at the Juniper Inn. Loved the scene when Sassy and Colt returned from their vacation to find Rose with her leg stuck in the roof of a cabin! I enjoyed the heart-to heart conversations between Dally and Rose as they worked together to make each cabin special.
Sara Richardson creates charming, entertaining and relatable characters. I adored Sassy McGrath - her affection for her family and community fills the pages of this novel. Sassy agrees to be the mayor of Juniper Springs because her community needs her and this decision opens up a new chapter in her life.
Dahlia needs a fresh start after her divorce and welcomes the opportunity. Dahlia’s journey resonated with me; she saw herself as a wife and mother but wanted a chance to be happy to find love again. Rose immersed herself in the renovations to put distance between her broken engagement and to figure out her feelings for Colt. I admired Rose’s determination to finish the inn renovation and rooted for her romance with Colt.
The Summer Sisters is a heartwarming story that celebrates sisters. Sarah Richardson illustrates the bonds, the love and the complex relationships between two generations of sisters. Each sister is tested during the novel—this kept me engaged because I wanted to see how they would respond to their challenges.
The Summer Sisters is a well-paced novel with character growth and development—with the perfect amount of laughter, romance and forgiveness!
I highly recommend this book—it’s the perfect vacation read. I can’t wait to read Sara Richardson’s next novel!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5 // 5

I thought this book was cute and easy to read. I didn't realize it was book 2 in a series until a little ways in but I never felt like I missed any important info that affected the story. Overall, the story line was slightly cheesy and overly predictable but not a bad read!

I thought it was sweet and I absolutely loved Sassy. Recommended for fans of Maisey Yates. It was an easy, breezy read with elements of family drama, awkward romance, and interesting small town dynamics.
