Oml! Why so GOOD! I loooooved it, like seriously! The graphics are literally a treat for sore eyes!
Okay, I know, too many exclamation marks! But seriously, this is super!

But here’s the thing, the story got lost on me a few volumes in, like there’s so much happening, and I don’t know if I missed something but what’s with the weird names and terms?! I mean it sure adds to the whole atmosphere and theme of the story, occults, voodoo and all that! But at one point it became a bit too jarring and kinda interfered with my reading. I’ll be honest I gave up on the story somewhere towards the end but kept on feasting my eyes on the graphics. Did I mention they are epic? Totally frame-worthy, once you’re done staring hard at them. This might be because I love skulls, and dead things, but like, who doesn’t, right? Also, how can you still make monsters look so monstrous? So cool!

Whoever said graphical novels read faster is in for a shock, because there is o much going on in this story, layers upon layers, back and forth in time, dead to the living, and back to the death, voodoo, cults....and what not. This is a sweet ride, bound to keep you at it for daaaays!

Suuuper impressed, and I sooo hope to get it in physical copy! 😍

I liked this one a lot. It's different because it doesn't go with the common stories about greek/nordic mythology, which is very nice and something new. There's a lot of nice things going on here and I love the characters. The comic book has very nice colors and I really liked the art here. It is not too messy and not too simple.
The plot here revolves around this man who has a loa whithin himself and he needs to fight the bad guys who want to bring something evil back and he also needs to deal with his problems with the loa that gives him power.
The one thing is that I think the information is a little bit too fast in the beginning. But I really enjoyed it.

Well, we get the unexpected here and no mistake – a deluxe, big price-tag (and then some!) edition of Andy Diggle's time on the Shadowman title. My experience of this cycle of books, which the publishers cared so much about, included:- a review file for the first book that left off the entire final third, until the whole thing was dumped on the market as a freebie; a big campaign that provided reviewers through multiple paths with what was supposed to be the second book and was for some weeks another copy of the first; and so on. You may think that all completely irrelevant, but I put it to you the better books, the ones the publishers can love as their babies, will get greater care and attention.

For this isn't a good run by any means. The first book was OK, if you knew the characters of old at least – but still bogged itself down with the 'heroes' being forced to do completely stupid things; the second volume was an utter waste of space diversion down some hole nobody could care for; and only the third, especially with its art trying its best to look hand-crafted, got things going.

Oh, and I'm reviewing this 'deluxe' as I've seen it, which is the vanilla reproduction of the stories, and nothing else. We're promised 20 pages of exclusive end-matter, and a tie-in for Shadowman with some one-hit wonder rappers. 'Cos that's what we'd be here for. Again it shows a little bit of reluctance to show the alleged wonders of this franchise off, in case us reviewers find said wonders don't exist. Seemingly these books have had some admirers, but try as I can I've not got to be one, so I'm left with the opinion that this deluxe is remainder-shelf bound. Two stars.
