Such a good recipe book for mocktails. Whether you don't drink alcohol at all or are just cutting back, this book is quintessential for social drinking without alcohol.

I personally adored this book while I was pregnant. When I wanted and craved a pretty and tasty cocktail, I could simply enjoy one of these mocktails completely guilt free.

I have been looking for a good cocktail book. Specifically for enjoying drinks that have no alcohol. I was excited to see this title. There are more and more offerings for people interested in the trending "sobercurious" or "soberminded" world. I want to expand my dinner party cocktails to include non-alcoholic options.

The author sets the book up to learn mixology. I liked that - it is interesting and offers flavor combinations that I hadn't thought of. Besides that - it gives me lessons for stirring up a cocktail for friends and dinner parties.

Regarding the recipes, the appear flavorful and complex. However, they are completely directed at the authors company DRY. I have not tried her product but are botanical sparkling sodas. I like that idea.
They are not available in public and - while I would try them if they were, they are cost prohibitive when ordering online.

This book is a great add for her website but the cover of the book should note this is a companion book to her sodas.

3☆ A Fun Guide to making Mocktails

The Guide to Zero-Proof Cocktails is a fun and entertaining Cocktail Recipe Book without the need for Alcohol. Ie Mocktails!

The Cocktail Recipes are split into the following categories :-
Sweet, Sour, Bitter, Spicy, Savoury.

This book is really informative and gives you a real step by step guide to making Cocktails. It teaches you all about flavours, and flavour combinations, ingredients, equipment you need and the different glassware options depending on your drink.

Although these recipes sound simply divine, my only niggle is that I'm In the UK and some of the ingredients I have no idea.... a) where to get them b) what the equivalent is. So it would be nice to add in alternatives.

I'm not entirely convinced this book is going to be cost effective as with any basis where food and drink is involved ingredients can be costly.
So it would be good to stock up for a party or a cocktail making session with friends or family.

I adored all the yummy illustrations, it made me want to grab a glass right from the very page!
This book would definitely make a perfect gift. 🍹 Cheers 🍸

As someone who can't have alcohol due to medical reasons, I was so excited to have a fun book on making tasty and exciting mocktails but instead, I was met with an advertisement for the author's DRY brand. I was very disappointed. I feel as though this book was falsely advertised. The recipes in this book sound really good and my anger would not have occurred if I knew going in that it was about the DRY brand not just making zero proof cocktails as the title suggests.

I thought this would be a good full of delicious mock tail ideas. Instead it seems to be an advertisement for the author’s DRY brand. Disappointing to say the least.

I have to say I was a little disappointed by the book.
I love the idea of non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails and think they should be normalised and mainstreamed. Between pregnant or nursing women, people driving, adventure sports which require you to be sober, odd working hours, medication and health – why is drinking (alcohol) still such a common social activity and sometimes (more often than I would like) the only activity people seem to agree on?
Which is why I welcome any book which give you alternatives to drinking water or the odd juice.
And while I applaud Sharelle Klaus’ determination to create this alternative by founding DRY, the book in itself is mostly marketing (or a recipe book) for her product. I learnt about flavour pairings and the basics about tools, ingredients and glasses, but the recipes themselves almost all require DRY, so unless it is available to you, this book probably isn’t for you.
Nonetheless the recipes and pictures are stunning and make you want to taste them, but I just couldn’t try them due to the lack of the main ingredient where I am.

I love the premise of this book. There are tons of people who can't or don't want to drink and this book provides plenty of non-alcoholic recipes for you to serve when you are hosting a gathering.

I like that the recipes are separated by taste (sweet, savory, sour, bitter, and spicy) and that a lot of the recipes had variations on the same page. I also like the "stocking a bar cart" and "tools" sections; these sections provide a lot of great information for anyone new to mixology.

I do think that some of the ingredients will be harder to find in smaller cities and towns so people will have to get creative and think outside the box. However, the authors do say this isn't the end all book of zero-proof drinks and they highly recommend you experiment with your own flavor profiles.

I am so tired of ordering sparkling water.

As a person who doesn't drink alcohol, whenever I go out for drinks or go to a friend's house for drinks, I'm always stuck ordering sparkling water. Sometimes I throw in a lime wedge for zest. This book, The Guide to Zero-Proof Cocktails, is the answer to my prayers.

This recipe book contains so many fun, inspired, really exciting recipes for cocktails with no alcohol and clever titles like "Short and Sassy" and "The Mom-osa."

The guide offers a primer on the diverse range of flavors, glassware, and the tools of the trade all in easy, accessible writing. The recipes are organized by flavor profile - sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, savory - and compliment by fresh, crisp, clean photographs with bright pops of color.

This book is beautiful, thorough, accessible, and really fun to read!

Every hospital should be required to gift these in a bag when leaving the maternity ward!!!!!!!! WHERE or WHERE was this book when I was pregnant and after I gave birth????? I would have toted this thing around with me when going out too eat. I am not joking.
This reason alone is enough to give this mocktail Cookbook a 5 star rating

I was really excited to get my hands on this book because I am constantly on a personal journey to find delicious craft mocktails but I was a bit let down. Essentially every recipe found in this book features a product from DRY, a non-alcoholic beverage company. Which is great to demonstrate to the reader that there are alternative manufacturing going on but it also felt limiting. What happens if you do not have easy access to their products? There are no alternative suggestions given for the DRY products. What was inspiring about this little book of craft beverages was just the breadth of possibilities. No longer do the non-alcohol drinkers amongst us have to rely on a Shirley Temple, water, or plain soda. Another highlight for me was the "how to build a bar cart" section because, as a drinking novice, I often get overwhelmed by the sheer number of tools people use to make magic in a cup. Through a very straight forward fashion Klaus and Bottles demonstrate that anyone can have a beautifully created bar cart that serves their needs and ensures they are always ready for whatever flight of fancy takes them next. Make sure to check out the simple syrup recipes, I for one will definitely be trying the ginger simple syrup recipe out in my own kitchen. With the right ingredients and a little streak of adventure you too can craft your own Gimlet or French 75!

As a non-drinker, I really appreciate this book and all that it has to offer! I love the tastes of all these cocktails, I just hate the alcohol taste, so these recipes are PERFECT for still getting that great taste. I especially love the fact that it's separated out by flavors: sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and savory.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Chatwin Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book, and the opinions are my own. This is a nonfiction book. As you can imagine from the title-one is interested in trying zero=proof cocktails, and while I found the book beautiful and the cocktails interesting. I found that there were few that I could make with ingredients on hand. For example where in the world do you even get Botanical Bubbly? What the heck-did I miss something? So while I found it creative and fun-I also was frustrated. Maybe I need a book that says Beginners Guide. 3 stars

They are saying that zero proof cocktails are all the rage now!! This book is a wonderful treat if you would like suggestions on recipes for a cocktail without the alcohol. The best part is the real pictures of the ingredients and cocktails when they are finished. The author goes in detail on how to create the best drink for you. Again, the recipes and the source of material is wonderful, but the best part is that you feel like you are sitting at the authors table, trying out some drinks with her.

I'm so glad I found this book. I've wanted to figure out how to make alcohol free cocktails but never seem to find the time. This book gives so many ideas and simple instructions. This is a must book to have if you entertain. There are always folks that attend events that don't drink alcohol. Now they don't have to feel left out!

As more and more people explore the dry movement, this book comes at a great time to help readers transition to alcohol free cocktails. Most of the drinks in this book are very easy to make with simple ingredients--it seems the ingredients are repeated so once you have your stash of supplies, you can make quite a few recipes. Great pictures and layout! Very modern, sophisticated read!

I was hoping for a book to help me build cocktails on nights when I didn't feel like drinking alcohol, but using the types of ingredients I would be and to have on hand. Besides some general information on flavor profiles, this book relies heavily on a single brand of specialty product. Since I am not familiar with the flavor profiles and properties of that brand of sodas, I was unable to try the recipes.

Although the photos are gorgeous and the setup sections and recipes are somewhat helpful, I would be remiss to mention that this feels more like website content for DRY soda than a book.

The good: these sounds delicious, the photography is great, and the basics (what you need in your bar etc.) were solid and helpful.

The bad: this book relied on a brand names not only in the sodas, which was expected, but also in some of the other ingredients, which was frustrating and made it feel like a marketing tool. In addition, the recipes relied heavily on the flavors of the branded items, so they are not easily replaceable with other brands.

I'm not posting this online because it is a more negative review.
