B.A. Paris has once again blown me away! Who can you trust? Do you ever really know someone? These are the questions I imagine Alice asked herself in The Therapist. As a new resident in the gated community called The Circle, Alice is trying to fit in and make friends. But, she stumbles into a twisted murder mystery that she cannot let go. With twists and turns I didn't see coming, this one kept me guessing almost to the very end. Though it began a little slow, after a few chapters, I was hooked. If you want a suspenseful, domestic thriller that you won't be able to put down and will keep you reading late into the night, this is the one for you!!

When Alice moves into a her new home with her boyfriend Leo, she is thrilled and excited to start a new adventure with the man she loves in the exclusive, gated community, The Circle. As Alice attempts to get to know her new neighbours, she senses that there is something they are holding back from her. And Leo's evasiveness in terms of why he doesn't want to spend time with the neighbours piques her suspicion also. As it turns out, one of the previous owners was murdered in her home, and her husband was suspected of her murder. Alice begins to feel a strong connection with the deceased Nina, and delves into the story through research and discussing with her neighbours, in order to find out the truth about Nina's death. But who can she trust?
As with B.A. Paris' other books, I was hooked right from the beginning. I didn't know who to suspect, or if there even was someone to suspect. There were several red herrings sprinkled in throughout so that it wasn't too simple to unravel the truth. I had guessed the truth by the end, but it was still enjoyable to read along and see how Alice dealt with things. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this title.

I'm a huge B.A. Paris fan and this latest read did not disappoint! This thriller was a complete page-turner with secrets & lies. You won't want to put this down!

B.A. Paris has written another psychological thriller that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat until the final words of the book are read. Alice and Leo move into an exclusive neighborhood and soon things start to get weird. Secrets are revealed. Before I got to the halfway point of this book, I was already sure that three of the characters had "done it." By the end of book, I think I had convinced myself that half of the characters in the book had "done it." That's what I loved about this book. With all the twists, you never really know what will happen next, or who is guilty. I was confused about Alice and Leo's relationship, though. It seems like they'd moved into this house together way too soon, and without really knowing each other. I found some of those dynamics to be strange. All in all, this book was a win for me!

B.A. Paris does it again!
This was a wish for it book and I couldn't have been more excited. I'm an immense fan of Paris' books.
The Dilemma was less than I had hoped for being it was more drama less thriller so I had my fingers crossed that The Therapist would make up for it and it did.
The Therapist went far and beyond my expectations. I couldn't solve it before the reveal but not for lack of trying. I was all over the place in my theories of what was what and who was doing what and once I got there I was floored.
A brutal murder in a gated cul-de-sac community. You know full well the murder was committed by someone in The Circle but who and why?
Paris' characters are strong and easy to attach to as always. You're immediately sucked into the story right from the get go. The Circle is described so vividly described that I could see everyone's house while I read. The story twisted and turned and I couldn't stop reading. Paris has a flair for intensity. She leaves you gasping for breath on nearly every turn and makes you excited for the next one.
I'm not giving anything away on this one. You are just going to have to read it, enjoy the ride and try not fall off. When the reveal comes you'll bolt upright and scream, "Oh...my...gawd."
I am so honored that I had my wish granted on this one. I've been lapse in my reading and this was the perfect book to bring me back. I finished it 24hrs. I rarely give 5 stars to a book but I am on this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for granting me a chance to read this before so many others get a chance. Also a big thank you to B.A. Paris for her amazing talent.

I breezed through this novel. I thought the mystery was fine - I thought there would be more about therapy as a feature of the novel. It was really a domestic, neighborhood/community murder mystery. Not my favorite type of mystery, but I didn't guess the ending!

Thanks St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the advance copy. I typically like Paris’ books. This was the same. Alice and her boyfriend Leo move into a gated community in London, called The Circle. Alice finds out that a woman was murdered in her house. The woman’s name was Nina, and that just so happens to be the name of Alice’s dead sister. Of course, instead of translating books, Alice decides to play Nancy Drew. For anyone who has ever read a mystery, you already know that the person the author wants you to think is the culprit is NEVER the culprit. Same here. There aren’t too many surprises, but a couple to keep you interested. This will be a wonderful Summer read. Enjoy

This author is great for an unputdownable, question everyone kind of story. Of course, most of these kinds of thrillers could also be solved if the protagonist wasn't so self-involved or if people actually had real conversations with their friends/loved ones/spouses, but hey, then it would just be a boring family drama and less murdery (probably).

To start, I am a HUGE fan of this author and will continue to read all published works. The storytelling is always good. I did feel that the twist of this story was easy to figure out, but I still wanted to read to find out the ending. I always read these books quickly. 😊 Overall, an great, quick read- you end up being transported and immersed into the story.

"The Therapist" is a very good suspense novel. Alice and Leo have moved into The Circle, a gated estate with twelve homes in London. Alice wants to meet the neighbors, but Leo encourages her to wait and take it slowly. She soon discovers that the reason that Leo did not want her to become too friendly with the neighbors, and the reason that some of the neighbors behave somewhat awkwardly around her or have been making comments about her that she has happened to overhear, is that a year ago, the prior occupant of the house, Nina Maxwell, was murdered, and her husband, Oliver, was charged with the crime and then committed suicide. Leo had hidden this information from Alice, knowing that she would never agree to live in the house if she knew about the murder; especially since the victim shared the same name as Alice's sister, who died in a car accident, and Alice could become obsessive about women named Nina. The revelation of the house's history causes a rift between Alice and Leo, which only worsens when Alice is approached by a private investigator who says he represents Oliver's sister and does not believe that Oliver was the killer, suggesting that it was another resident in The Circle, and asking her to pass along any information she learns from the neighbors, some of whom also privately doubt Oliver's involvement.
The Circle is full of secrets and certain residents seem to know more than they should and more than they are telling. Leo and Alice also have some rather significant personal secrets. The author does a great job of keeping up the suspense and mystery. There are numerous things about the various residents of The Circle and their interactions, as well as the information that Alice learns about Nina and her interactions with her neighbors, that causes Alice to be suspicious of multiple neighbors. Her suspicion only intensifies when strange things start happening in the house. Interspersed throughout the story are old therapy sessions involving Nina; however, as she was a therapist and also seeing a therapist, it is unclear until near the end whether she is the therapist or the client in these interactions.
If you enjoy a good suspense novel, "The Therapist" is the book for you.
I received a copy of the e-book via NetGalley in exchange for a review.

I have read all of B A Paris’ book and have enjoyed them all.
This one had me on the edge of seat at various points throughout and had me guessing until the very end.
Intriguing from the beginning, Paris’ manages to weave a story that like the main character has you second guessing “who did it”. There is definitely some creepy moments that stayed with me but the major plot twist at the end was nothing but pure brilliance!

Alice pulls up roots from her small town to move to London into a home with boyfriend, Leo, where, unbeknownst to her, the previous woman of the house, Nina, was brutally murdered. The setting of this novel, a development called "The Circle" reminded me of the fake town in the movie The Truman Show. It didn't feel real, and neither did the neighbors living on "The Circle". The mystery of Nina's death is eventually solved in the less than convincing setting.

I will be posting a review to Goodreads and Instagram in a couple of days. This is my favorite BA Paris book so far, and I have loved them all.

After moving to the circle with Leo, Alice is desperate to become friends with the other couples on the street. Leaving her cottage and support system for London, and with Leo traveling all week, she just wants to have some friends. When she finds out the horrors that made her new home so cheap for them to buy, Alice starts to feel a connection to the woman that used to live there, Nina. Alice wants to find out what happened, but nobody is willing to talk about it.
So I gotta say I had a feeling with this one pretty early on, which rarely happens to me. However, I still loved following the story and trying to figure out what had actually happened to Nina, and why the entire circle was so hush hush about talking about it. I also just watched the circle on Netflix so the entire time I was just imaging all these people in their own little pods talking over circle chat! I really loved The Dilemma last year, so this one had a lot to live up to. It wasn’t as good as The Dilemma but I still really enjoyed it!

Ohhhh what a letdown. I really wanted this to be a winner. A slow burn with an odd ending that seemed out of left field. This could have gone in so many directions and the one in went in seemed to be the most dull.
I did like the setting of “The Circle” and could picture this small community in London so she set the scene quite well.
Unfortunately this is a miss for me.

Quite enjoyed this whodunnit thriller! I am a big B.A. Paris fan tho. I kept trying to figure out who did it, but I was thrown in so many directions I never got it until it was revealed. That’s a well written book in my opinion!

Another amazing novel by B.A. Paris. The Therapist has everything a good thriller should- amazing characters, twists and turns, and a dramatic ending. It was hard to put down and had me guessing until the very end.
Thank you, Net Galley, for an advanced copy of this book.

Ohhhh my creepiness! This was so good! B.A. Paris has done it again.
This one checks all the boxes that make me want to devour a book: creepy, murder, lies, strange neighbors, and a twist!
5 stars.
Thank you to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Look for this book July 13 and I promise you, it will pull you in and spit you out!

I think this is one of her best books. I liked her first books a lot and this one harkens back to them but fast paced tight plot and characters

I really enjoyed this book. The red herrings, and plot were nicely handled. Admittedly I thought I knew who the therapist was, but didn't realize all of the details and back story, so it was played out quite nicely.
