Holly Parmenter is a survivor and it's a miracle that she is alive. But, she's not only left with a horrible disfigurement, but she is also left with a lingering doubt, something she witnessed, that is so incredible that no one actually believes it is true.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I was really pleasantly surprised! First of all, our heroine has a huge scar marring her otherwise beautiful face. I thought the author did an excellent job of bringing the character's inner beauty to light. I enjoyed seeing her evolve and gain confidence; and I loved that the characters surrounding her saw past her outer "defect."
Also, the mystery surrounding the crash sight victims was seriously interesting and unexpected. The author did an amazing job of weaving and detailing the events of the plot into a real page-turner. The characters were well developed and believable, and the plot had just enough mystery with twists and turns to keep me from putting the book down until late into the night.
This was a solid 4 star read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Holly and Oliver meet and his rock climbing gym. Holly has been through a tragedy that has left her scarred and hiding from the world. She was in a helicopter crash where everyone died but her. After the crash she saw something they no one believes, 2 lovers bodies frozen together. She starts rock climbing so that she can find them again bring their family closure. Through this Holly and Oliver’s relationship develops and they eventually fall in love. He offers to go with her on this climbing trip. Along the way there are twists and turns that make it harder for this to happen! The ending is great and unexpected!!
A must read!!
**I received a copy of Extreme Limit from Xpresso Book Tours and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions are my own and not solicited in any way.**
Extreme Limit by Kendall Talbot is the first (Or second if you read this under it's previous name) book in her Maximum Exposure series while the author is new to me the Canadian Rockies aren't having visited them years ago. This book is a fly by the seat of your pants adventure. I will have to check out the the rest of the series there are snippets at the end of the book.
Holly Parameter (AKA Amber Hope) not only survives a helicopter crash but also the loss of her fiance' and his son. But it's what she sees that will not only haunt and give her a reason to find out the truth behind what she saw in the crevasse on Whiskey Mountain. Since no one believes she saw bodies, she sets out to learn how to ski, mountain climbing and rock climb to prove them wrong. When she meet Oliver owner of the rock gym there's a spark as well as admiration of her determination. But when she tells him why and her secret past will he stay and help or run for the hills?
There are two different stories in the plot with both Holly/Amber and a young man Regi who's being not only exploited by a criminal and but is also shocked to find out how he's connected to Holly and her late fiance'. It's confusing early on but works out in the end . All in all Extreme Limit is worthy of a four stars rating.
This had a bit of a slow beginning, despite the early excitement. I didn't connect with Holly until about 15% in, but was able to after.
This was a solid story, with a little of everything. I really enjoyed the suspense, the slow burn romance, the mystery surrounding how Regi fit in, and the action. The only thing that felt a bit off was the description of sex. It was a bit awkward, but forgiveable considering how well everything else was described.
The tone of everything matched Holly's growth, and the ending felt very satisfying in many ways.
As a bit of an aside, I was amused several times throughout at some word choices (like describing a voice as "posh"). As an American who is very familiar with British/Australian English, it made me smile, but also wonder for a second if any of these characters were not from the U.S.
You must read this book!!!!
I haven’t read anything by this author before at wasn’t sure what to expect...and I was blown away. This is a perfect book. The characters were so well developed and as a reader I was sucked into their lives! The pacing was exceptional, the whole way through the book I new it was leading to an epic adventure
I don’t wasn’t to spoil it for anyone, all I can say is this book is everything you want from a romantic suspense and more
