Thanks to receiving advance copy of the book to read on my Kindle. Even though the book has come out, I have finally managed to get some time to sit down and read this book. I was first intrigued in reading this book as it touches on a subject matter which we will working with in the not so distance future which is Artificial Intelligence and how it will affect as individuals with this technology.

The book was very informative with regards to the technology and how it is to be used within the fiction world. In learning about the technology, I can see it being used by companies and governments alike. I enjoyed the plot and how it progressed in the book where it had twists and turns but didn't know how it would end up.

I really enjoyed the book and the subject matter as it is up my alley. I look forward to seeing what the other comes up with next,.

Although the story moves quickly, it is disjointed and needs further editing to take out the rough patches of writing. Further, the characters are a stretch.

Having said that, the premise of the story works, even though some of the actual scenes are a stretch at times. The plot is a little slow at times.

The story premise is that the worlds nations and corporations are competing to dominate the world’s artificial intelligence industry. This includes killing leading scientist. CIA officer Colt McShane has been assigned to investigate an international espionage ring has been stealing classified technology from Pax AI.

But as Colt learns more about Pax AI’s classified programs, he discovers just how powerful—and dangerous—their new technology can be. As the struggle for AI dominance grows ever more competitive, the factions vying for power are becoming desperate to achieve victory.

It is really an average book, that will engage some, but is hard to plough through.

Spies, counter-spies, industrial espionage, murders, and deception abound in this fast-paced techno-thriller revolving around the race to control AI.

Wow, what an interesting and fascinating book. This is the first book in a new series about the CIA officer Colt McShane. The book is part technothriller part spy novel and the story is about the race to dominate the world's AI industry. The Americans, the Chinese, the Russians and the Israelis are all involved in the power play and in the middle of all this is our protagonist Colt McShane. It's a fast-paced, chilling and thrilling story that kept me on edge until the very last page. I hope there will be more books in this series and I really recommend this book.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Severn River Publisher for the opportunity to read this book and share my honest opinion.

It was a bit of a slow start for me as it is not my normal genre of reading, but once the story took off I couldn’t put it down. – Colt McShane (CIA) is assigned to “Pax AI” a leader in the AI technology, to investigate which world espionage group is stealing Pax AI technology, all under the cover of his normal cover of working for a large investment firm. The AI technology is powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands, after a while I started looking at my phone and computer with a bit of distrust .. just saying 😊
Murder, spies, conspiracy theories, computer technology, working together or not, will computers aka AI rule … I highly recommend Firewall.
