This was an entertaining read but felt entirely too familiar. Unfortunately, there were no big surprises here and I don't think it'll be memorable in a few days.
The story in emojis: 👶🏼 💊 😳
My Top 3 things from this book:
•Multiple POV
•Psychological Thriller
•Dislikable Characters
I enjoy a good Psychological Thriller and The Perfect Nanny definitely hit the spot.
It was full of really dislikable characters and rather than put me off the book, it made me want to read it more!
There was a lot going on in this story and most of it was red herrings. I did pick up on some of the goings on relatively early but there were some twists and the ending specifically was very clever!
I previously read The Secret Sister by this duo (which I loved) and will definitely be looking out for more books from them.
This was a good change of pace against reading my usual genre of books. I plot was easy to follow along and kept me invested in the ending of the story. It worked at a good pace, very enjoyable read.
Brilliant thriller what a thrilling fast paced edge of your seat read it kept guessing right until the end this is definitely worth a read
"The Perfect Nanny" by Karen Clarke is an engaging read that effortlessly draws the reader into its suspenseful narrative. Clarke's writing is polished, and her ability to craft a compelling story is evident from the first page. The plot revolves around the complex, often fraught relationships between families and their nannies, a theme that Clarke explores with nuance and depth.
However, while the book is undeniably good, it unfortunately does not stand out in a genre that has seen numerous similar offerings. The storyline, although well-executed, treads familiar ground, echoing themes and plot elements found in other works that deal with the same subject matter. This sense of déjà vu might leave readers who are well-versed in this genre feeling a bit underwhelmed.
Despite its strengths, including Clarke's skillful character development and her ability to maintain suspense, "The Perfect Nanny" might not be the best recommendation for those seeking a novel that offers a fresh perspective on the nanny-family dynamic. For readers new to the genre, this book could be a captivating read, but for those who have already explored similar stories, it might feel like a retread of familiar themes. In conclusion, while "The Perfect Nanny" is a well-written and engaging book, its lack of originality in a crowded field makes it difficult to recommend to others looking for something new and unique.
This book is gripping from the start
I felt that some of the characters were under developed
The ending of the book was really good but also very unrealistic
I have read too many books with the same plot of this one so nothing was surprising to me. It was a fun read but it was not unique in the slightest.
Told from the perspective of two very different women, this was a highly addictive dual timeline read. Though I kind of had my theories of the ending, it didn't really spoil it for me. The perfect amount of suspense that kept me reading long into the night. Highly enjoyable!
I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to HQ Digital, NetGalley, and Karen Clarke and Amanda Brittany.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I couldn't stop reading it. Despite my theories being correct, my enjoyment wasn't spoiled. Sophy is a new mum and really struggling when she meets Olivia, a nanny at a mother and baby group, but doesn’t realise that she is hell bent on destroying Sophy’s happiness after an incident year ago.
Elizabeth, Sophy's mother-in-law, keeps appearing and taking control, while Dom, her busy husband, remains unaware of Sophy's growing desperation. There are some excellent red herrings and a satisfying ending. I found it to be great and enjoyed it.
This was a brilliant book. I missed reading it when it first came out, and I am extremely gutted I did. It was a brilliant story that was so close to getting full marks. It is extremely difficult to put down, so I just had to read it all in one sitting it was that good. I just loved the characters and the way you never knew who you could trust. It was a very exciting story that had me on the edge of my seat throughout. I just loved all the twists to this story. Especially the ending where my jaw hit the floor. I definitely recommend reading this book if you love psychological thrillers.
So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such an exciting and thrilling story

Many thanks to Netgalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Man I love a good nanny story and a good thriller and this had the best of both.
This is told in two points of view: mother Sophy, who is a struggle new mom, and Liv, who is out for revenge.
Liv takes on the job as Sophy’s nanny but soon discovers she may not be the only one who wants to harm her.
I enjoyed this one! There are a lot of twists so prepare your neck ahead of time 😂
This was a cute, one sitting read. The story follows two women struggling on their own journeys through life. This was a very entertaining read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy read.
This book is told from the perspective of two very different women who both have their problems. Liv thinks Sophy killed her brother and so is set on revenge and Sophy is a new mum who is struggling to cope. There are a few main plot points that nicely come together at the end and there are some twists and turns which will keep you reading for more. This is a quick read that you definitely won't be able to put down as the two women figure out their issues to reveal a thriller-esque style book.
I read a LOT of mystery/thriller books, but this might be one of the best ones yet. The book alternates perspectives between the two main characters, Sophy and Liv, giving you an insight into the mind of both. You have no idea who's side to take, and it's amazing. Both characters (and even the side characters) are written in a way where you can truly connect to them and really feel like you are apart of their world. Plus, the PLOT TWISTS. Insane. Every single one of them caught me off guard. I will definitely be reading everything these two authors put out in the future!!!!!
I want to thank Netgalley and the author's for gifting me the ebook. A good suspense/Thriller novel. Great weekend read.
There is always more to the story when a perfect nanny appears to help a struggling new mom. This was a "can't put down" thriller that I devoured!!! Read this book!!!
This book was a perfect mix of secrets, lies and revenge.
Imagine inviting a woman into your home that you trust with your child, but she has an ulterior motive and is holding onto a life long grudge from years ago.
That's all I will say for now, other than if you want to find out more then you need to read this book immediately!
I loved every second of reading and I could not put it down.
A big thank you to netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Well written with beautifully drawn characters and plenty of twists. I enjoyed this and devoured it in one sitting.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by these authors! I will definitely be looking for more by them. It was a very good, unputdownable, book!! I was surprised at some of the twists. I would definitely recommend this book!
I really enjoyed this book. An emotional story full of grief and love. A great easy to read book full of enough twists and turns to keep you hooked
