Wow! What can I say about this book?
Liv is still hurting from her brother dying a long time ago. Finally, she tracks down the woman she believes is responsible. And she is going to make her pay!
Sophy is struggling with new motherhood. She needs a nanny. Who better than Liv to step into the breech?
This book was Fast paced from start to finish! Well written and thought out, although I guessed some minor twists, it was very enjoyable and I was sad it came to an end.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy to read and review.

This is a story about revenge. The last few chapters were fast moving as it moved towards the conclusion and final reveal but I was somewhat disappointed in the book as a whole.
An event many years ago had poisoned the mind of the main character and after all this time has passed, she sees an opportunity to gain her revenge. The story seemed a little thin to me, until the final part.
For me, the story seemed unlikely with several members of the local residents being involved in criminal activities?
Sorry, it was not for me

This took tells the story of Liv and Sophy. Some chapters told from Liv’s viewpoint others from Sophy’s.
Sophy appears to have it all a husband, nice house, new baby. Unfortunately Sophy is not bonding with her baby, struggling to cope, an interfering mother-in-law who makes her feel even more inadequate. Along comes Liv who she meets at a Mothers Group and offers to be her nanny. She is grateful and glad to be able to get some sleep and some help.
Unfortunately Liv has an agenda, she believes Sophy was the reason her brother killed himself at University after she dumped him. Never having got over brother’s death she wants revenge.
Things start happening and is Liv to blame or does the blame lie elsewhere or is Sophy just a bad mother?

Despite it's dark undertones this book was an easy read and I finished it quickly. This was mainly due to the style of writing with alternate chapters written from the two main characters viewpoints and a storyline that flowed well.
It was a book that you wanted to keep on reading to find out what would happen next although I found the main twists were pretty predictable from early on.
So overall it was an ok read that was entertaining enough but not quite what I would class as a thriller. Probably a good 3.5 stars generally but I'll round it up to 4 for the style of writing.
Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sophy’s perfect house, perfect husband and perfect baby are too much for Liv to bear… and she’s going to make her pay.
Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish and could not get enough of.
This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!!
Absolutely loved the characters, the plot, the tension - impossible to put it down.
Certainly recommended!

A first for me with the authors and won’t be my last. A well written story with a great storyline, characters you love and characters you will hate. Something happening all the time and didn’t really let up from the start. Some things I guessed correctly along the way and others threw me an absolute curve ball and was so far off what was happening. I won’t write about the storyline as that’s for the blurb to draw you in, but I will say an enjoyable read and eagerly await what is next from the authors.

A very good thriller that kept me guessing until the end.
Told in alternate POV of new mum Sophy and nanny Liv. Sophy can't seem to get it together as a new mum and Liv wants to make Sophy pay for her brothers death from years back. There were many twists and turns in this book and I had zero idea who "had done it". Well done by the authors.

I really enjoyed this book. Sophy is a new mum and is really struggling to cope. When she meets nanny Liv at a baby group and she offers to come and help out, Sophie is relieved. However, Liv has an ulterior motive: she believes that Sophy is responsible for the tragic death of her brother years before, and she is determined to make Sophy pay. This is a great story, full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing to the end. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.
Copied to Goodreads.

Secrets And Lies Abound....
Secrets and lies abound in this engaging psychological suspense. Is revenge as sweet as it seems? With a cast of credible characters and a tense, compelling storyline this is an engaging and entertaining read.

‘Do you trust her with your baby?’ cover tag line.
My thanks to HQ Digital for an eARC via NetGalley of ‘The Perfect Nanny’ by Karen Clarke and Amanda Brittany in exchange for an honest review.
This is a domestic noir that focuses upon a young mother and a nanny, who may not be as perfect as she seems.
Sophy Pemberton is struggling to cope with the pressures of motherhood. Finn, her nine-month old, never seems to settle and she feels tired all the time. When Liv Granger from the local mother and baby group offers her services as a nanny, Sophy is delighted to accept.
Yet Liv has an ulterior motive as she considers Sophy responsible for her brother’s tragic death while they were at university and has been seeking Sophy for years. Now Liv is outraged as Sophy appears to have the perfect life with the perfect home, the perfect husband and perfect baby. Liv doesn’t know how but she is determined to make Sophy pay.
The narrative viewpoints move between Liv and Sophy. The friend/employee with a secret agenda is an established trope in domestic noirs/psychological thrillers and I felt that the co-authors did well in presenting these dual perspectives along with some interesting plot twists.
Overall, I felt that ‘The Perfect Nanny’ was an okay domestic noir that held my attention though didn’t particularly wow me. Likely this was because I am not that into mum and baby stories.

The Nanny
Book was very good, kept me gripped. I hadnt a clue who abducted the baby until the end, but I did suss out the who was drugging the baby's mum because she wanted him for herself.
Not my usual type of read but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. I figured out what was happening around 70% of the way in but with no confirmation, I raced to the end.
An easy read, in that I was invested in the plot and the characters and wanted to read on.
I would recommend and look forward to reading more from this author.

The Perfect Nanny is a thriller you will not be able to put down! You know by the title there probably is NOT a perfect nanny in this story and that person is Liv. She meets Sophy who seems to have everything - wealth, a handsome husband and a newborn son. But their meeting is not really an accident because Liv has been looking for Sophy because she believes she is responsible for her brother's death. This book is fast paced and really had me guessing right up until the end! Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Firstly, sorry to the publishers that I am a day late posting my review. I finished the book late last night and wanted to do a full review.
I am often sceptical about when authors collab together as I have read a few books recently where this has spoilt the book. However, this duo write perfect together and I will certainly be looking for more by this duo in the future.
This book is told from multiple points of view of Liv and Sophy. I repeatedly say this in my reviews, but it is true. I much prefer the dual timelines and multiple point of view format books. They always sit well with me
The book runs smoothly and it feels as though each writer has taken one of the characters and made them their own. It just worked.
The book is a suspenseful family drama with twists thrown in along the way. It is easy to read and perfect for escaping the outside world.

I loved this book! It was not your typical thriller, definitely a book that kept my attention from beginning to end. I didn’t guess the plot twists until they were happening. The author had you thinking you had it figured out and then it goes a completely different way. I found myself guessing throughout the entire book! The characters were well developed. Thank you for the privilege to read this book!

Excellent read. The development of the two main characters is brilliant. There are so many twists and turns throughout and it keeps you guessing right to the end. Suspicions are rife which makes you change your mind all the way through. Definitely going to check out this author again.

The Perfect Nanny was a trip!! I pride myself in being able to figure out the twist before reveals in mysteries/thrillers, but this one got me!! The dual story telling was well done with events switching between narrators. I’ve read a few crazy nanny or possessive mother in law books, but these authors had a new take. Overall, this was an enjoyable read that kept me guessing and revising my internal predictions.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Perfect Nanny initially attracted me as it sounded like an intriguing suburban thriller which I love. There is just something so satisfying reading about rich people getting karma, their just desserts, or maybe that’s just me. #I’mSaneIPromise
Anyway let’s have a bit of blurb:
You trust her with your home, your husband, your baby… but she is about to destroy it all.
Sophy Pemberton is struggling to cope with the pressures of becoming a new mother. Her nine-month-old son never settles in her arms and the unrelenting tiredness from late night feeds is all-consuming.
So, when Liv Granger from the mother and baby group offers her services as a nanny, Sophy is overcome with relief. Now she can finally get some sleep… She can stop failing at being a mother.
But Liv has a secret.
She is convinced that Sophy was accountable for her brother’s tragic death and she has been searching for her for years.
And now that Liv’s found her, she’s outraged Sophy seems oblivious to the pain she has caused her family.
Sophy’s perfect house, perfect husband and perfect baby are too much for Liv to bear… and she’s going to make her pay.

This blurb just made the story sound so dark and sinister with a slight hint of violence. However in my opinion the story didn’t live up to the blurb.
However, I do have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand the story hooked me in and I read this in 2 days. I needed to know what happened next. And the characters were well developed.
I predicted some of the twists but others I half predicted so it is a well written story line. I also really liked how it utilised multi person narratives, it is possibly one of my favourite writing tools as it just builds so much more into the story and adds so much more depth.
It felt slow a lot but at the same time I couldn’t stop reading. It’s one of those books I can’t make my mind up about. I think I just wanted a bit more to the storyline, maybe a bit more about the lust for revenge to make it a bit more darker. I felt that as a thriller it needed to be a bit more sinister but that is just my opinion.
Nevertheless I still enjoyed it, it was an easy read (not something I would usually say about a thriller) and it had a few good (although predictable) twists along the way.
⭐⭐⭐ – a good thriller but I wanted more to the story, more darkness and sinister undertones

This book grabbed me and pulled me in relatively quickly and I couldn't read it fast enough!
It was fast-paced, fresh and exciting. It felt slightly predictable but I didn't mind that. This held my attention and I read it with relative ease and at a good pace.
The characters came across as very complex and deep, I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first but they grew on me. The alternating chapters were a plus for me, I always like them in a good book!
The ending was quite a surprise and there had been a few twists unfolding throughout the book. It was juicy, full of tension and I really enjoyed it.

A totally gripping twisty book. I had calculated some of what was going on but did not determine the whole plot as it unfolded . A book full of real characters that were so easy to sympathise with and understand their emotions. Once I started reading I found it so compelling that I just had to keep reading, loving every minute. This could serve as a great story for all new mothers to read to make them aware of what can so easily happen.
Highly recommend this to all readers that like crime stories.
