I love stories about nannys. This one was dark and delicious with at least one twist I didn't see coming. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would read these authors again!
Quick and easy read. Enjoyable but a bit predictable. Some of the plot clues were laid a little too emphatically making it too easy to see where the story was heading,
This is quick and easy to read, with a lot of potential for a really good book. For me, there were too many clues and possible suspects. Liv, the main character, has held a grudge for years, wanting revenge on who she sees as the person responsible for her brothers death. Sophy has been struggling since the birth of her son, and her mother in law, Elizabeth is taking over more and more. There was enough interest in it to make me want to see how it ends, despite working out the truth fairly early on.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
A bit dizzying throughout, from the many twisty turns and spinning brain trying to figure it out! Well written, fast paced, unputdownable, and intriguing whodunnit with some revenge type thrills! Would highly, highly recommend, as I definitely think it’ll keep you flipping pages, so you know exactly who did what and why!
Will buzz around platforms and use pow Amazon reviewer number on release!
Thank you netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this fantastic book.
Quick paced story that I couldn’t put down. I did work out the ending but they didn’t spoil the story for me at all.
I’ll look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.
Thank you to Net Galley for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Um ... Right. An interesting concept that was flawed on writing. Too many twists, too many red herrings. While Liv is presented as a fairly sane, competent adult, her entire reasoning for becoming Sophie's nanny is a huge grief-related mistake that surely the passing of time would heal, or at least make sense of?
I mean ... It was okay. I want to be more positive because at times it was great, but just not a book for me.
Yummy Mummy's world is a strange one but adds to the intrigue and excitement. Follows a nanny who is seeking revenge however this develops into something more and it gets get out of control. Thank you #NetGalley for the copy to review.
This book was easy to read and left you guessing when you thought you had it figured out. If you want a light and easy read that has a bit of a twist then this is it
I really liked this book. It was entertaining and a quick read.
Liv's brother committed suicide several years ago and she believes it is all Sophy's fault. So her plan is to get close to Sophy and wreck her life like she did hers.
The story is told in two POVs: Liv and Sophy's. You can definitely feel for each character and can see what they are going through. Even though I figured out what was going on halfway through the book, I still enjoyed it, but I was definitely frustrated that no one in the book could see what was happening.
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
What a page turner - even up to the very end! It was easy to be captivated by the two main characters; I was quickly drawn into their lives. The problem I had - choosing sides; which woman was I cheering for? Ultimately, both women won me over even though their stories and lives were so different. You can feel their pain and experience their sadness.
Just when I thought I had solved the mystery, this book took another turn that kept me guessing and left me wondering who you can really trust.
I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This book was so very good. When I first started reading it, I was reminded of other books where the storyline is a new mom being drugged and someone claiming she did not deserve a baby. But I continued to read it and I was so glad that I did. There were so many twists and turns that when I was not reading, I was trying to figure out who did it.
The premise of this book on first glance is nothing new but I am so glad I gave it a shot! There is so much that doesn't quite add up and keeps you on tenterhooks throughout.
The story is told from the perspectives of Liv, the determined nanny with secret demons and Sophy, first time mum who is evidently struggling though with what exactly, she and those around her aren't quite sure.
A brilliant, fast-paced read, thanks to netgalley for the advance read in exchange for an honest review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am struggling to give three stars but it deserves more than two. My apologies there may be spoilers.
I had it figured out in no time. The nanny inveigling her way into the posh group to get her long awaited revenge which had been shown to be misguided by the first photograph.
Daughter in law being forced to accept help from her overbearing mother in law, whose son does not have a clue about why or when his wife's illness occurs.
Nosey neighbour with everything except , well except.
Carer with a background that is never quite explained. So many red herrings it was comical and ultimately the real villain is left alone but unpunished. Ready to spread some more manure in someone else's stables.
In between there were lots of words. I can't be too unkind. I did read it all so there must be some merit. I just don't recall.
The Perfect Nanny. An edge of your seat book. I was guessing till the end. Sophy is struggling with being a mom to her nine month old son. She feels tired and can’t seem to bond with her baby. Her husband thinks it’s good to have his mother come by everyday to help. This further doubts of Sophy’s mind that she can’t handle her baby. Along comes Liv. Someone who wants to help Sophy and will hopefully lessen the need for her mother in law. Things aren’t as they seem. Sophy thinks she’s going crazy. She has no energy and her husband is worried about her and the baby. What is happening to Sophy? #goodreads #netgalley
I flew through this book! If you are worried about this thriller being another "weary wife", don't fret because you will not be dissapointed. I loved how aware the characters were and how no one knew what was actually going on until 80% through the book. The last chapter will also leave you reeling and wanting more!
This was so unbelievably unbelievable it was fantastic! Such an easy read, and I figured out right away what was happening, but it didn’t take away my enjoyment! Like a guilty pleasure, it was like all the soap operas rolled into one! I read it in a day and feel totally satisfied afterwards!
Interesting and disturbing novel with excellent characters and a strong plot. I love that this book was a collaborative writing experiment too.
Hold on tight and get ready for a thrilling ride filled with so many OMG moments and "what did I just read". I absolutely loved this book and it held my interest till the very end. I would highly recommend reading this gem.
This is a fabulous read with twists and surprises until the very end. Its hard to believe it is written by two authors as it flows beautifully. A really gripping story with an array of characters in Sophy's life struggling with new motherhood. A new nanny seems to be the answer but all is not as seems. A really tense thriller.
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
This book contained all the necessary ingredients, It was easy to get straight into, flowed smoothly, and had endless twists and turns right up until the last page. What more could you ask for?
