Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.
I really wanted to like this book. I have read other books by Harding and really enjoyed them. However, I could not get into this one. It did not hold my attention and it took me quite a long time to finish.
Thanks to NetGalley and Gallery Books for this ARC. I love a good mystery, so this was intriguing. This book is the perfect example of "looks can be deceiving" and it sure is the case with this family. I enjoyed learning about the different secrets among the five family members. Slowly the book unravels how all of the secrets are intertwined, however I have to say I found the ending to be anticlimactic. I dislike committing to reading a book that leaves me with an "EH" feeling at the end. The book was a quick read, so if you are looking for that, this book could be just the one for you!
Okay, let's play cards. 52 cards, 4 suits, plus a joker. 4 suits, 4 people. Shuffle the cards. Start the deal. As cards are dealt, each suit will become the object of our suspicions. When the last card is dealt, who is left standing? Has the joker won?
The perfect family is 4 people living a dream life or so it would seem from the outside looking in. But from the inside, their lives are not as perfect as they want everyone to think. Someone outside the family knows. Malicious pranks start, but who's the target? The pranks escalate to become dangerous. Alternating POV from each family member gives us 4 credible targets.....a mystery lover's dream. Page by page Robyn Harding builds the tension as she parcels out the clues like a hand of poker. But her poker face left me changing my guess every few chapters. A great thriller that is a 5 star read for any mystery/thriller lover.
Entertaining and immersive. A recommended purchase for collections where crime and thrillers are popular.
Again with the picture perfect trope. Although I am tired of this trope, Robyn Harding has a masterful talent of weaving a wickedly addictive tale.
From the moment I started this book I was hooked and I couldn’t wait to find how it would all play out. Each member of the family are hiding secrets and I was curious to see how it would all connect. Sadly the last part of the book fell flat for me. I wanted more especially after all the build up and the ending was underwhelming.
I loved this compulsive read about the perfect family you couldn't help but loathe, with dark secrets that slowly come out in the story. Will be recommending the book and the author!
This perfect family is perfect in appearance only. Two successful parents and an athletic son in college and a bright daughter. But appearances are not what they seem. Each has their own secret that could individually burst the family bubble. First the family home is first egged by teenagers then the attacks escalate until they are forced to begin to expose their secrets. But will that be enough to make it all stop? Some of the secrets could have been more disturbing if delved into deeper - overall enjoyable and entertaining.
This is perfectly chilling and perfectly well done! Kudos to Robyn Harding who never misses and provides hours of entertainment for me and readers like me. I do enjoy getting Thriller readers who haven't heard of her to try her books because they are inevitably hooked!
Can you think of that one family in your neighborhood or among your friends where they just seem, well, perfect? You know that everyone has "stuff" going on in their lives, but you just can't imagine what could be wrong with their family?
I love a good thriller, which is why I was drawn to this book. The Perfect Family by Robyn Harding follows four characters that make up the family members in this book. I like a book where the characters are being messed with, and no one can figure out who is messing with them.
Harding does a good job of developing the characters as you watch their secrets unfold. The story was fast-paced and made me want to keep reading. The book contains vandalism, theft, late night video chats in lingerie, sexual assault, and drunken indiscretions Just wanted to make sure you were aware ahead of time. :)
I gave this book four out of five stars. I was given this book for my honest review.
Always a fan of Robyn Harding's fast-paced, page turning thrillers. Add in family secrets and drama and you've got The Perfect Family!
A fabulous ride from start to finish, I enjoyed the different POVs of each family member and the ever growing tension to figure out who and why these "pranks" are happening to the Adlers. Highly recommend for an easy and quick read.
Thank you to the publisher & Netgally for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Bahaaaaa The Perfect Family is a not so perfect family 😏
This domestic drama centers around the Adler family, who is under attack, tires are flashed, home is egged, smoke bomb on the lawn, attempted house fire and much more, but who is behind these attacks? And more importantly, why?
We quickly learn everyone in the Adler family has secrets, not just from the community but from each other 😳
Excellent read with an explosive ending!
The perfect family seemed not so perfect from the moment I knew their inner thoughts. Such unlikeable people who don’t appear to like each other very much either. Quick to accuse and blame others while knowing they are guilty of wrong doings also. This family wallows in their individual and collective miseries while they are attacked by mystery vandals and more. I enjoy Robyn’s books they always seem to be smooth and seem effortless. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and their juicy dark secrets. The suspense ramps up as we learn note and more and the story is expertly told from the four POVs of the family. I feel over all I enjoyed the book and I would recommend it.
An amazing thriller that you’re sure to devour! It will have you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to end.
This was a pretty quick "popcorn" thriller that I enjoyed! I have enjoyed the other Harding books I have read, so was excited to dive into this one. I thought the premise was good and the execution overall was good, but felt like it needed more somehow? I can't quite put my finger on it! Regardless I did devour it and thought it was a good read. I liked the different family member pod's. The many, many secrets among the family kept me guessing and made it a difficult mystery to crack as a reader! Already looking forward to her next book!
Thomas and Viv give the impression of being in a very happy marriage. But you know the old saying.. you never know what goes on behind closed door. Well there is another saying that fits this book well.. What's done in the dark will come to light. Told in multiple points a view, mom, dad, and two kids. There is someone out there black mailing the whole family. All for different reasons.
I was very frustrated with all the characters, they just acted on impulse all the time!
Robyn Harding blew me away with her novel "The Swap," however, this one fell just a bit short to me.
For whatever reason, I didn't find myself resonating with the characters like I did with The Swap. Her writing is beautiful, the quick pace really suits my style, and I enjoy her voice as an author, but this one didn't pull me in like I was hoping it would.
I can count on Harding to write a novel that is hard hitting and makes me think, this one did that, regardless. I look forward to the opportunity to read more of her work in the future, whether that be through NetGalley or through my local library.
Robyn Harding writes such good, compelling thrillers. It's a quick read and a good page-turner. A great vacation read!
The Perfect Family is a phenomenal thriller from start to finish. Filled to the brim with twists and a captivating plot, this one is sure to keep readers hooked. The characters are well-developed. The story is incredibly fast-paced. This is one not to be missed! Highly recommended! Be sure to check out The Perfect Family today.
I completed the entire book, but I am not entirely sure why. This was full of pretty horrible characters and such an unrealistic, bizarre premise. Not recommended.
