The Perfect Family had me hooked from the very beginning. I love how each chapter was told from a different person's POV. I found myself flying through this one and wanting to pick it up every free moment I had. I wasn't a fan of the ending but overall I really enjoyed this one and will read anything Robyn writes.

I was completely absorbed in this story and could not put it down. Usually, I can predict at least a few twists, but this story had me guessing. I also really loved the setting of Portland, OR, maybe that was because I happened to be visiting Portland for the first time while reading this and I felt like I got to discover the city a little more via this book.

Some of the twists were more satisfying than others and the tone was a little confusing at times, I think it was supposed to have some dark humor? Either way, I really enjoyed reading this just based on the tension that was built from the start, I had to find out what was going on.

Robyn Harding does it again.

The Perfect Family. 🥴

No. No they aren't.

Everyone says they didn't do it. Everyone wants to blame it on the daughter.

Meanwhile, Everyone has a secret that could be causing the escalating aggressions against their manicured house (my favorites being the literal shit on the door and wasp nests in the trash can).

The wife tries to do gratitude exercises except she loves who husband who she is sure she is cheating, her daughter hates her and her son is dropping out of college.

Twisted, fun and fast-paced. Look beyond the manicured lawn and the picture perfect lie and find the multi-colored truth.... and shocking ending.

To all outward appearances, Thomas & Viv Adler and their children Eli & Tarryn are the perfect family. Thomas is a successful real estate agent, his wife stages homes and has just started her own interior design business, Eli is a freshman in college and Tarryn is a junior in high school. They live in a beautiful craftsman home in a nice ' neighborhood and seem to have the perfect life. Appearances are deceiving. Each one of the Adlers is hiding something.....something that would be devestating if it got out. Only someone may just know their secrets.....because they are being tormented, first by childish pranks like throwing eggs at the house, but soon escalating to something much more sinister. Keeping secrets is not just hard... it is dangerous.

I am a huge fan of this author, and this latest book did not disappoint. The book did an excellent job keeping me guessing as to who the culprit was. I loved how it told the story in alternating parts under each person's view point, in the present day, while slowly giving you clues as to what their secret was. It really allowed you to get to know each character thoroughly. If you are a fan of thrillers, then you definitely need to add this to your TBR pile!

Wowzers! This should be titled 'The Perfectly Messed Up Family!'

From the outside, the Adlers look like they are living the perfect life: They have a lovely home in Portland, Oregon; the husband, Thomas, is a successful real estate agent; the wife, Viv, is an interior designer who often helps him 'stage' houses; the son, Eli, is a college student at a prestigious Eastern college; and the daughter, Tarryn, is attending high school.

But each has a secret, a problem that is tearing them apart. And now, someone is attacking their home. It starts small with an egging but quickly escalates to more serious damage. Each family member begins to wonder if their secret is behind this harassment...

They each tell their story in alternating chapters. Like watching a train wreck, it's fascinating to watch these people self-destruct. One keeps wondering why they don't just tell the truth and deal with it! Robyn Harding is back with an entertaining summer thriller.

I received an arc of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks for the opportunity.

Thomas and Vivian Adler live in a beautiful home in a perfect neighborhood with two perfect children,
20 year old Eli Adler and 16 year old Tarryn Adler. Perfect is how the Adler family appears anyway until one day when the house starts getting vandalized by someone, eggs, then dead animals...then fire. The police won't do anything 😒 and the family is under great stress. Each family member believes they are responsible as each has a secret.
This is a great read for those who love family drama and thrillers. I had a hard time putting the book down as it was a real page turner for me.
5 star read

The Perfect Family by Robyn Harding is a highly recommended domestic thriller.

Thomas and Viv Adler by all outward appearances are the perfect family. They are parents to two children Eli, 20, and Tarryn, 17. They are both successful and live in a beautiful home. So why is someone targeting them? They have woken up to find that eggs and rotten vegetables were hurled at their home. They have found excrement on the front door handle, woke up to slashed tires, and have had a smoke bomb tossed into their front yard. The police believe it is all from bored teens playing pranks on them, but each of the Adler's have reasons to believe that it is something more. Everyone in the Adler family has secrets that they believe could be behind the pranks and the fear is that the assaults will escalate.

After the opening when an unnamed individual is planning to set fire to the side of the Adler's house, the narrative alternates between the point-of-view of each character. All of their secrets and worries are revealed in their chapters. And these people have some major secrets! They are all terrified that their secrets will be revealed and people will know that they are not the perfect family. Basically: Viv is worried that Thomas is having an affair, and, oh, by the way she's an interior designer who has a little problem with kleptomania; Thomas is being blackmailed after a wild night at a bachelor party; Eli is back home after his sophomore year of college and he is dropping out after an incident he is keeping secret; Tarryn is secretly camming at night when she puts on lingerie and a wig and is being paid to talk to strangers online.

All the characters are fully realized and developed. They are all flawed and concerned about appearances in their own way. It becomes clear that each of them has an awful secret that may be responsible for the assault on their home. This means readers have a whole lot of people to consider when trying to figure out who is attacking the Adlers. And the secrets and suspects seem to multiply, as does the paranoia of each character, as the novel progresses. At the same time not all the actions of the characters are completely believable

This is a well written domestic thriller that is addictively intriguing and compelling. The pages will fly by as you want to find out what each character is thinking about in their narratives. It is fascinating to see a family so worried about outward appearances when a little soul searching and honesty would go a long way to lessening some of their anxiety. Although some secrets are shared, the plot has enough twists that there are no real answers until the final chapters where we get a lot of answers up to the surprising final denouement. There are a plethora of pop culture mentions that I found distracting, although they do establish the pretentious nature of the family.

No doubt every family has its secrets, but the Adler family is covering up some seriously twisted stuff 😳

Beginning with a series of seemingly harmless pranks, the Adler family is continually harassed, with the events increasing in severity. Each family member becomes convinced their transgressions make them responsible, all the while hoping their deepest secrets won’t be revealed.

My thoughts…Robyn Harding’s fictional Adler family is anything but perfect, BUT they were perfectly crafted, perfectly relatable, perfectly imperfect.

The Perfect Family is a quick, twisty, enjoyable read that will leave you wondering what’s happening at your neighbor’s house, and I loved every single minute of it!

The Perfect Family by Robyn Harding is a suspenseful thriller with a wonderful storyline that keeps you guessing from page one. The book opens with a dramatic scene of an unnamed person setting the bushes of a suburban house on fire. You are then catapulted into more secrets than you could have imagined by the seemingly perfect family of four.

Thomas and Viv Adler and their children Eli and Tarryn have an outward appearance of prosperity and happiness. This book delves into each of their secrets and is told from their perspective. You learn quickly that all have big secrets and anyone of them could be the catalyst of the attacks on their home. As the attacks escalate in severity the secrets seem to escalate. You are left with more questions than answers and at times think that any of the perfect on the outside family members could be the cause.

You can not help but sympathize with the Adler’s though and you will keep turning the pages quickly in an attempt to solve this mystery before it becomes deadly. This book will grip you and leave you wondering who is trustworthy and who is already willing to look the other way in hopes of keeping their secret life under wraps.

All the characters have flaws and secrets which draws the reader even further. You can not help but try to figure out who to sympathize with and who is at fault. Trust me though, you will be shocked when it is not at all what it seems.

A suspenseful novel by Harding.
Thomas and Viv Adler are the envy of their neighbors: attractive, successful, with well-mannered children and a beautifully restored home. Until one morning, when they wake up to find their porch has been pelted with eggs. It’s a prank, Thomas insists; the work of a few out-of-control kids. But when a smoke bomb is tossed on their front lawn, and their car’s tires are punctured, the family begins to worry. Surveillance cameras show nothing but grainy images of shadowy figures in hoodies. And the police dismiss the attacks, insisting they’re just the work of bored teenagers. Unable to identify the perpetrators, the Adlers are helpless as the assaults escalate into violence, and worse. And each new violation brings with it a growing fear. Because everyone in the Adler family is keeping a secret—not just from the outside world, but from each other. And secrets can be very dangerous.
Go for it. I loved this book.

A seemingly perfect family is pushed by neighbors to the edge with eggs on the porch. A smoke bomb in the front yard. What’s next? Secret suspenseful novel.

The Perfect Family --- More like The Dysfunctional Family. What a whirlwind?

Overall this book was very intriguing. I found myself wanting to pick it up to see where it would go next. Some of the twists were predictable but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the book. I found that though others have found this to be fast-paced, it just missed the mark for me. I did love the multi-perspective aspect of the book. Sometimes I would get so frustrated with the characters for not owning up to their mistakes and lies, but I do understand why it was told the way it was told. If you love a slow burn, domestic setting, this book is definitely for you.

I did really enjoy this book and will definitely be picking up future Robyn Harding books.

Take a family of snappy characters, each with a dark secret, and see what unfolds when the truth comes knocking on the front door of their perfect house. Told in multiple POV’s, you get everyone’s perspective in this family of four, and while each member is hiding things they have done, they evaluate each other in order to understand the current situation. I enjoyed all the intricate and well-developed plots that kept me guessing till the very end. An unpredictable book!

Robyn Harding has been an auto-buy author for me ever since reading and loving Her Pretty Face in 2018, and I was super excited to read her latest, The Perfect Family. It definitely didn't disappoint from beginning to end with its captivatingly twisted and suspenseful tale of a far from perfect family with secrets galore.

The Adler family, Thomas, Viv, and kids Eli and Tarryn, look like the perfect suburban family on the outside. But looks can be deceiving, and this family is far from perfect. Each one is keeping a secret that they are desperate to keep from each other. Then suddenly their house begins to be targeted by acts of violence--eggs are thrown, then tomatoes, until it escalates to slashed tires, smoke bombs, and a fire set outside while they're asleep! This is definitely not harmless pranks like the police originally thought, and each of the members of the Adler family can't help but wonder if it's their fault. Does someone know about their individual secret and are they targeting them because of it?

This book is absolutely sensational! It's one of those reads that you can't put down because it's just so addictive, shocking, and unputdownable. That Ending!

Harding is one of those authors who writes suspense that is compulsively readable and so well-done. It's unpredictable, which is refreshing in a genre that is often so predictable. I will read anything Harding writes and highly recommend The Perfect Family!

Sadly, although I love the author, this one did not work for me. This might be because I have read a lot of domestic suspense lately- I had just finished Lights Out In Lincolnwood that had similar elements and comparatively, the stakes in this one felt too low.

What you have here is the Adler family. They’re a family of 4 that are said to be the envy of their neighbors: they’re attractive, successful, have well-mannered children and a beautifully restored home. The their house starts getting mysteriously vandalized, and each prank is getting progressively worse and worse. It seems like someone within their beautiful home has done something to piss someone off. We come to find out that it could have been any of the 4 main characters- they all had their own secrets that they were trying to keep buried, and they each had inadvertently made enemies. My issues with it were my own. I didn’t ever get invested in the characters and didn’t understand their motivation. One thing I will say that Harding does very well is that it never comes across like she’s passing judgment on her characters, no matter what they’ve done. If you like domestic suspense, family drama, and thrillers that aren’t too graphic, this could work for you.

By all appearances, the Adler's are the perfect family. The family of four are living the ideal life in their suburban two-story home that has a welcoming front porch accentuated by a lush green lawn and well-tended flower beds. So when their house becomes the target of late-night egg-throwing mischief, the unsuspecting family naturally assumes it is a harmless prank executed by random neighborhood teenagers. However, as the late-night mischief on the family home escalates in intensity, it quickly becomes apparent that the Adler family isn't as perfect as they appear on the surface. Hidden secrets bubble to the surface as tension mounts and the threat of exposure intensifies. I was captivated by the family secrets in this story and gobbled this book up in my quest to learn who was behind the threats on this family. A page-turning thriller that kept me captivated until the last page!

Wow. Families always keep secrets, but this family takes the cake. Sheesh, all of them are living a life of lies. Crazy stuff. Hard to figure out who is after them, since they all have hidden things in their lives. Quite a few wrap ups, which I liked. Really enjoyed this book, even though I wasn’t crazy about anyone in the family. Thank you to Netgalley for the early read.

I’ve been hoarding this egalley for months! I’ve read quite a bit from Harding and loved The Arrangement, so I had high hopes for this one. Was I entertained? Most definitely. This family is full is secrets and the POV from each of them kept me turning pages. I was desperate to find out what really was going on and then ultimately left rolling my eyes. I’m not mad I read it but I won’t be shouting it from the rooftops.

The Adler family is the perfect-on-the-outside family. Normal kids, nice house, good jobs -- it all seems like everything is going as it should. Looks can be deceiving, though, and as the house gets egged, and then the harassment gets worse and more dangerous, each family member struggles with the secrets they're each keeping. Will sharing their secrets set them free and stop the attacks? Or will the perfect family crumble under the weight of their own guilt?

The Perfect Family (Robyn Harding) consists of a mother, father, a son, and a daughter. Unfortunately their home is being targeted. Each of them has a secret and they each think their secret is what is causing the harassment. I want to thank NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for an early copy to review.
