The writing and pacing are well done, but the overall believability was the downfall for me. Any one of the secrets would be pretty big on its own, but all four in one family seems like a pretty big stretch. None of the characters are particularly likeable, which isn’t always necessary, but it left me not rooting for this family in anyway.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

The Adlers are a family that carries many secrets, mainly secrets from each other. However, innocent family secrets turn into huge problems for the entire family when they begin to be harassed in the safety of the own home. What begins as innocent harassment evolves into attempted murder. Whose family secret is the worst?

Robyn Harding's newest novel is certainly a page-turner from the very beginning. I love a good suspenseful thriller, and this one certainly kept me wondering. Thank you NetGalley for the arc of this complex family mystery.

I feel a little conflicted about this novel. On the one hand, the premise sounds great, if not particularly inventive. However, the execution falls slightly flat. The situations Harding puts her characters in are somewhat contrived -- not throughout the entire story, but at some pivotal moments. I found myself not believing that a realistic character would act that way, which pulled me out of the story. It was almost as though the author's intentional (and probably necessary for this type of book) manipulation of the reader "showed through." To be fair, for the most part, the narrative is tense and suspenseful and I kept turning the pages. I was definitely anxious to find out what would happen and the ending is satisfying.

The characters and their problems felt very cliché. I wanted it to be more wrapped up at the end (felt like there were still some threads left hanging) and I would have preferred a bonus twist or something. It was okay for a quick read but I didn't find it particularly engaging.

Interesting books full of twists and turns.

The book tells the story of a seemingly perfect family each with their own secret. When they begin to be targeted, each family member wonders if its his or her fault.

While sometimes straining credibility, the book was a fun, fast read. I will try others from this author.

I read "The Perfect Family" in one sitting literally on the edge of my seat. Imaging your worst nightmares taken to the max and the utter terror and helplessness you feel in trying to protect all you love and hold dear. I highly recommend this book to anyone feeling the need to be scared witless!

Everyone in this family has secrets and now they are being harassed, but whose secret is causing the harassment? There were a few parts of this book where I was like huh, why wouldn't they XYZ? BUT the unguessable twists made up for those few moments. This was a great twisty read, that had me guessing until the end.

This book was disappointing for me. A family where everyone has shameful secrets is attacked - their house hit with eggs and rocks and set on fire; a dead rat in the refrigerator and a wasps’ set in the trash can; a mother who is a kleptomaniac; a father being blackmailed; a college-age son who is hiding the reason he won’t return to college; and a teenage daughter who engages in camming (a term I had to look up). One would think that these would be the makings of a first-rate thriller.

Sadly, these elements just don’t work. The story is ponderous, the situations cliches, and the surprise at the end is just ludicrous. I’ve not read anything by Robyn Harding, but given rave reviews of her other books, I’m certainly willing to give her another try.

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley.

Solid story that deals with family and the secrets everyone keeps. Wonderful plot with believable characters. If you like a book with a bit of mystery and family drama this one is for you.

A family four that seems perfect on the outside but as you know, nothing is as it seems. They are each barely holding it together because they have their own secrets - and they are hiding them from each other. But someone knows one of the secrets because their house begins to get vandalized. As the situation gets worse, the secrets begin to come out and they are doozies. I just loved this book and had no idea where it would turn next. This was a fun read!

Robyn Harding gives us insight into The Perfect Family. Where the multiple secrets are numerous and will give you whiplash. Where one secret turns deadly.

I didn't love this book.

The idea is interesting, privileged family getting harassed but can't figure out who is doing it or why. None of the characters are particularly likable, and I never cared that they were getting harassed. I didn't understand their motivations, and their arcs were underwhelming/superficial. The big reveal felt heavily circumstantial and coincidental, at best. In the end, did I feel like they deserved it? (minus Tarryn) Yes, yes I did. Regardless, some parts were well down. I did enjoy it switching between each person's perspective. It never once got confusing even though we had four narrators.

Robyn Harding is a dear favorite. She can take the term family, created the characters of the family, and develop unforgettable characters. There are layers and shreds of these characters that create the blanket of the family in entirety. You want to feel sorry for them but at the same time they have their secrets. I liked that family she created within this book because there was duel issues with each character and as the story developed your feelings towards them evolved bringing you to the end of the book. Robyn crafts a family that keeps you engaged, torn, and wanting to devour this book. Thank you so much for an early e-copy for this book.

I always enjoy Robyn Harding’s books and The Perfect Family was no exception. Peeping in on a seemingly perfect family under attack by unknown assailants is one way to find the cracks under the surface. Secrets are kept by the Adler’s, each and every one of them but some secrets are worse than others.

When a series of random attacks occur, progressing from prankish egg throwing to far worse & more dangerous attacks, each member of the Adler family has reason to suspect it’s because of something they did – something secretive and shameful. As each attack worsens, the Adler’s begin to lose control of their perfect lives and spiral out of control.

Ah, I loved the way this book took a family that was already drifting apart over high expectations and public facades and worked the perfect thrilling mystery. Everything isn’t always as it’s perceived and this is never more apparent than when you get a glimpse into the Adler family. The characters themselves are beautifully flawed and I love that they’re explored fully in this book. There’s no doubt who each of them is and what role they play in the story. Ms. Harding is forthcoming with each character’s flaws and secrets which made for the ultimate guessing game in this thriller where everyone is suspect!

With a quickly paced plot and perfectly timed twists, The Perfect Family is an absorbing story that had me racing to the end. Highly recommend this for any fan of the genre!

This is a unique family drama/thriller! This family is definitely one of a kind. They're all so involved in their own worlds to realize what's happening within their own home. We see POVs from the entire family- not just the husband and wife. This is a nice change from the typical he said/she said narrative. It's clear someone or multiple someone's is out to get them and I kind of understand why. All of the characters are flawed and not entirely likable. Their mistakes have caused a ripple effect throughout the community. Despite them not being the most likeable people in town, I did enjoy piecing together each of their stories. The middle felt a bit repetitive but it helped with the tension buildup. The short chapters allowed me to quickly uncover the Adler's secrets and not want to stop reading until I did. I needed to know who wanted to take them down. While the ending felt a bit lackluster, it did tie all of the plotlines together nicely. Thank you to NetGalley & Gallery Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. I've also read The Party by the same author and I really enjoyed this book! Everyone in the Adler family has a secret and not they're not sure who's to blame for the recent attacks on their home. The author keeps you guessing right up to the end. This will be a great end of summer read and I'll definitely read more by this author in the future.

The perfect family isn't so perfect! Secrets and lies abound in Robyn Harding's new thriller and you'll be enthralled by each and every one of them. Thomas and Viv have the perfect, house, jobs, children - you name it. But someone is targeting them, throwing eggs at their house, slashing tires, even setting their porch on fire, and they are all at a loss as to figure out who it is. This is because all four family members have reason to believe they are the cause of the attacks. They all have a secret they don't want anyone else to find out about. The story is told from the four (4) points of view of each of the family members, and the reader is privy to all the characters' secrets. And they are all good ones! This book kept me guessing to the end, where everything is wrapped up neatly and the family can live in harmony and peace once again - or can they? Another great thriller from Robyn Harding that will have you tearing through the pages to reach the satisfying conclusion. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a huge Robyn Harding fan, so I was excited to read The Perfect Family, but unfortunately, I felt a bit let down at the end of this book because I was hoping for a more twisted ending like some of her previous books.

Each member of the Adler family is hiding something from the other members of the family, but each also thinks the attacks on their house can't possibly be about them. I enjoyed reading about all the mistakes, secrets, and despicable thoughts behind each member of the so-called "perfect family." Robyn Harding really does a great job of exposing the things many suburban dwellers would prefer to hide behind closed doors.

This was certainly an addictive popcorn read for domestic thriller lovers! i only wish I wasn't left slightly puzzled and annoyed at the non-ending ending.

Save this one for when you need a slump buster and have a great snack and alcoholic beverage ready. An ideal choice for the beach!

The Adlers are seemingly the perfect family, but when vandals begin egging their house, each family member wonders what has caused them to be a target.

Because each of them has a terrible secret that nobody else in the family knows.

Viv is a kleptomaniac who just can’t seem to help herself. She steals from friends and clients alike.

Thomas is being blackmailed by a stripper from a friend’s bachelor party who shows him evidence that he beat her while blackout drunk.

Eli, now a college dropout, participated in severe hazing of another student, and stood by as he was assaulted.

Tarryn, a high school student, is camming in her bedroom at night, though she’s underage. Someone from her real life has found out that she is doing this and is threatening her.

As the attacks on the family escalate, they each must face their darkest secret and find a way to make it right.

This book was delicious and horrible in the best way, and I couldn’t put it down. The ending was excruciating in a fun way!

I am always a sucker for suburbia books and secrets in seemingly boring lives. The book started easily enough - a home was egged! and then it escalated into a crescendo. The Adler family puts up with a lot of things tossed at them and we learn who it is with them. Something I am sad about is that the big, delicious confrontation never came at the end. The book ended in a whimper.
