Not everything is the same on the inside as it is portrayed on the outside! Thomas and Viv look like the perfect couple and family. As things start happening to their house, the entire family is hiding secrets so why is this stuff happening? I loved getting to know all 4 Adlers and their secrets! I read this book quickly as I couldn't put it down! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.
This was a great domestic thriller. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the story. The ending fell flat to me but overall it was a very enjoyable read.

The Adlers are the perfect family.
Except, they’re not really.
Every single member is hiding a dark secret and when the entire family becomes the target of pranks, it’s hard to know who is doing it or why this is happening.
The pranks start off harmless enough, but soon escalate to terrifying levels.
I have very mixed feelings on this one. It’s a very quick read and kept my attention the entire time. The writing is easy to read and the author does a great job at keeping you wondering what is going to happen next.
I never quite knew what was happening or what to expect, which I do like from thrillers.
However, these characters are so unlikeable and just flat. They’re all very stereotypical and flat with no dimension. I couldn’t connect to any of them and I didn’t really care what the outcome was for any member of the family.
The buildup was well done, until the end.
When the pieces start coming together I found myself getting a little frustrated. It felt like the climax didn’t hit that pivotal point that it needed, it just kinda flattened out and didn’t have this explosive conclusion that I was hoping for.
The reveal just didn’t fully give me what I wanted.
In the end, I read the whole thing because it was addictive and a page turner. However, there were just some flaws that made the book a little too average of a thriller for me.
Entertaining in a voyeurish way, The Perfect Family is anything but. Each member has a secret that could be the cause of the terrible attacks on their home. The problem is, those secrets must be brought to light to flesh out the perpetrators. The result is a long, tedious nails-on-the-chalkboard alternating perspective as we get to watch each character self-destruct. I felt a little guilty for finding entertainment in this book.
I’m not quite sure how to rate this. Everything about this story interested me and I couldn’t wait to start reading. As I got deeper into it, I had mixed feelings and a few times almost stopped reading. It had its moments where I was like what the heck and other moments that I couldn’t understand. It’s certainly twisty and keeps you guessing. I enjoyed parts and others not so much. Overall it’s interesting and I do recommend others give it a go.
Riveting domestic thriller with all the twists and turns! Outwardly, the Adler family is picture perfect but in reality, each member of this perfect family is harboring secrets from one another which if revealed can have major consequences. Though I did not like the characters, the plot is juicy and very engaging. And then it becomes a race against to identify who is behind these random acts that they are being forced to endure.
It definitely got me hooked and was a page turner. I liked the ending even though it was far-fetched. All it matters is that is highly entertaining!

Pretty pictures, perfect lives. That is what was presented and boom, this family moves into the perfect house and neighborhood. Except things start to happen...tires are slashed, cars egged, and then worse. The police are no help and even act as if these actions are just pranks.
Violence is around the corner but this perfect family can't really do anything because is seems they aren't so perfect after all.
Oh my, this was WILD!! I am a huge fan of Robyn Harding, and this was undoubtedly my favorite of hers so far. It was very well done, each member of the Adler family had something crazy going on, and I really loved that. The Adler’s wake up one morning to their house being egged, and Thomas (father) says eh, just some kids, and they all keep it moving. Then things escalate pretty quickly, as in a smoke bomb is thrown on their lawn, tires are slit, and the family thinks maybe this is a little more than pranking kids.
We quickly learn that each of the members are hiding something, which leads to a whole host of suspects that could be behind this, as they are clearly not well liked at all. I could not figure out what in the world was going on for the duration of this book, which was great because that speaks to how messed up this book was. In fact, I did not end up guessing this one and was shocked by the ending. What a thriller this was, it is one that will stay with me for a while.

Wow, The Perfect Family by Robyn Harding is now at the top of my best reads of the year! I was so captivated by this utterly compelling domestic thriller that does not disappoint!
Thomas & Viv Adler live a seemingly perfect life in their idyllic Oregon town with their children, Eli and Tarryn. Happy marriage, beautiful home, fancy cars, successful jobs, etc. But behind closed doors their world is crumbling as they begin to be harassed. Unbeknownst to each other, each member of the family is keeping ugly secrets that could lead to the culprit, but no one is admitting anything.
Lots of twists and turns in this well-written whodunit where each chapter is told from the POV of a different family member. None of them are likable characters, but the crisp, engaging, and interesting writing keeps you turning the page.
Books like this is why I love reading! This one kept me riveted. I highly recommend!

Every family family has secrets and the Adler family is no exception. Inside this picture perfect home with a perfectly landscaped yard, expensive cars and beautiful family lie so many lies. The Alders home is being attacked almost daily but why and due to which family member? This book was very quickly paced and I like that just enough details were given to give us the story without too much. I really liked that the chapters were super short with each member of the family having their say. I honestly had no idea who the culprit will be as there were plenty of suspects. It was a twist I really enjoyed and didn’t see coming. Definitely worth the read if you want a fast paced book that will keep you guessing up until the very end!

I was intrigued by this thriller as it is set in Portland, one of my favorite PNW cities. Yet, I was thoroughly not entertained by this one. A family who is FAR from perfect, is victimized with random vandalism which escalates into some weird, creepy stuff. The story is told through the four members viewpoints, with none of the family members like-able in the least bit. Halfway through the book I found myself rooting for the vandals. And then a cliffhanger-ish ending which did not satisfy.
You know that old saying “when it rains, it pours.” That is what this book makes me think of.
All families have secrets. What happens when those secrets boil out of control? That’s exactly what this book is about and it was a great ride.
I loved getting the POV’s of each family member. Individually their stories are full of struggles, frustration, and wanting to protect their family. Together the stories were woven together so well and it makes you question whether each person is responsible.
If suspenseful mysteries are your thing then definitely grab this book!
The Perfect Family is a tense psychological thriller that follows the Adler family. Each of the family members has a secret that they are hiding from each other and as the attacks increase, it becomes a guessing game as to who is causing the attacks.
This story kept me entertained, has good detail and the characters are believable and excellently written. This is the first book I have read from Robyn Harding and I will search for more!

Finally got to this book and was pleasantly surprised at how fun and enjoyable it was
The Perfect Family follows the story of Viv, Thomas, Tarryn and Eli,; A family that seemingly has it all: a successful realtor father, a mother with an interior design business, the perfect collegiate son and a daughter with a bright future. When the family starts receiving random attacks on their property they begin to wonder who can be behind those attacks and why. As the story unravels we understand that each character in this family is perfectly imperfect and have made more than enough enemies along the way to wish them ill, will they get to the bottom of who is behind their attacks before something terrible happens?
The story was broken up by character and in first person which was perfect for the type of story being told. I also really enjoyed how layered and flawed each of them was. With the many possibilities of rivals it was nice to bounce around the many options of "whodonit"
Fast paced and easy to read, this book is perfect for picking up and breezing through it on a bookish afternoon.
The Perfect Family, ummm not so much!
The Adlers seem to have it all but each one has their own secrets that are destroying them and possibly their own family. Starting out as kid pranks like egging, but escalating into more dangerous incidents like slashed tires and smoke bombs. Could it be the mom Viv with her budding career as a designer but a terrible habit that she hides. Or the husband Thomas who made a mistake one night that will continue to follow him? Then there is Eli who has left college without warning and refuses to go back or explain why? Last there is the daughter Tarryn, typical moody teen with few friends and in the unpopular group but with a secret of her own. Which member of the family’s secrets are causing so much trouble and destruction?
Kept me reading trying to figure out the next secret and then who was behind all the trouble. So many characters in addition to the main four that will keep you changing your mind again and again! Very engrossing read! Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was such a great thriller, and it really had me wondering what I would’ve done in the same situation.
The Adlers may appear to be perfect, but after falling victim to a few pranks, we begin to see the a new side to this family. The pranks continue to escalate, as does their fear, and along with them we learn that the Adlers are harboring secrets from one another that could tear them apart. The police dismiss their concerns and now the family is faced with taking matters into their own hands. The situation becomes more dangerous and time is running out for them to find out who is behind these attacks before someone gets hurts…or worse.
This book grabbed my attention from the get-go, and I couldn’t put it down! The story continued to build in intensity from one chapter to the next, and with each secret that was revealed, my heart was raving with anticipation. I was quite surprised by the ending, and I think other readers will be as well. Highly recommend!

Robyn Harding is a notably edgy author, in subject matter and in delivery. She pens a style of novels that are literally unforgettable. Deep in character and plotting events that on the surface seem unlikely but are soon clearly not just possible but probable, her stories are both enlightening and startling--often shocking. They are not easily set aside.
So prepare for this tale of a "perfect" family group in an idyllic setting, beloved by friends, neighbors, classmates, and coworkers. In a sort of "reality TV for the mind," Robyn Harding clearly exposes the secrets immediately beneath the surface, then the muck below that, plus the ways that this "ideal" family appears to others. Be prepared for a shortage of sleep and a plethora of eye-openers as you follow the unraveling of ostensible perfection.

This book... literally I have few words.... it blew me away! I could NOT put this one down until I knew how it was gonna turn out. All the twists, turns, secrets and lies were just perfect in my opinion!!!
I loved that it was told in the alternating perspectives of each family member. It helped the reader get to know what each was thinking at very specific points in the book. The fact that they all had secrets and we so unreliable made them that much more reliable.
I consider this one of my absolute favorite books of 2021, and I have read so many amazing ones this year. The whole book kept me on the edge of my seat with it's wonderful pacing. I can't recommend this one enough if you like a good thriller!
This family is definitely anything BUT "perfect"......
The Adlers are a family where they're each hiding a secret. It's hard to gauge which secret seems to be the worst. They are all pretty bad in their own way. Of course, there are certain details that we don't find out about right away which make some things seem a bit worse while others seem less so. The book is written well and keeps the reader intrigued and curious as to how everything will ultimately play out.
Truthfully, I did have a difficult time connecting to the characters. They all seemed dishonest and not very easy to like. I found little about them that seemed to be redeeming which in turn made it difficult to empathize. However, as the story progresses, I did find myself feeling sorry for them as they are being "targeted" over and over.
I did find the resolution to be clever - - even though I didn't necessarily find it too believable. This is fiction after all so I can suspend belief and just enjoy it for entertainment value.
