Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book. I have read the first 2 volumes but the 3rd book was disappointing and uninspired. Just my opinion.

It does not make much sense to read a book that's the third in a series without having read the other two first... I missed a whole lot of backstory and I am very sorry that I am unable to honour this book properly.

It was a very amusing and informative read. It's evident that the person who's behind the keyboard really knows what they are doing and the result is this gripping, realistic novel. I've never read such a survival novel - or any survival novel, come to think of it - before and I found myself being deeply involved in that story. It was amazing!
So, the writing and plot are amazing, but I couldn't quite connect with the characters. Which is mostly my fault, for reading the third books in a series before the others.

I received a free copy by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have not read the first couple books in this series, but it didn’t matter too much.
This is a post apocalyptic story. A family is in the wilds of British Columbia and has just spent the winter in a cave. Spring comes and they decide to finish their journey to a family cabin in the mountains. Choosing the wrong trail leads to a series of devastating events.
A great story with realistic characters and a lot of action.

I love end of the world books, but this one fell short.
This is the first book in the series that I read...for that reason, I did not give it a lower rating.
However, coming in at the 3rd book, I never found out what had happened, who the characters were and why I should care about them.
Further, was Sasha and her crew part of an earlier plot/book/storyline? Was she a brand new bad, evil character?
The author provided scant background information on the supposed bad people. What was their background, why were they in the mountains.
I do not require a full book but a synopsis of what happened in the previous books would have been helpful.
I would be remiss if I did not mention the horrible use of foreshadowing. Look the river is going to/has flooded. OK. Lets take the river route and wonder what will happen. Two paragraphs later..oh look the river flooded.
The fight scenes were long and drawn out.

There is a story there. Just not enough character development and too much on fight scenes.

By any means necessary. As we move into book #3 of the Return of the Wild West series, this is the heart of the Healy family's fight to survive. Unable to hold and protect their land, they have left their family ranch to regroup at their hunting cabin away from populated areas. But the struggle to get there as they travel on foot moving cattle and possessions may be too much for some. Will their struggles and battles pay off? Before you find out, you will travel along some very rough prepper roads, courtesy of Grace Hamilton! 5 stars!!!!
