Mutual Saviors
Excellent story for Andrea de Wolfe! This story grabbed at my heart for I knew the story of his father, Troy, and his twin brother Scott. I always wondered about him. This was an excellent read for me. Sir Andrea de Wolfe, while in London with his cousins and friend comes to the assistance of a woman while in Gommorah. Assisting her brought various emotions to him, not sure how to take them.
Gavriella de Leia has had a horrific time of it. Now in London, not of her choice, she is still experiencing unpleasant things. To say she has suffered is an understatement. She is nervous at meeting the Knight who offers to help her. There is so much evil taking flight around her life.
Truly loved their story!
I always read Kathryn LeVeque whenever I get a copy of any of her books and review them when they come out on the other platforms. I sometimes forget to review them on here. This was a wonderful book by her as always.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I love this author and this book was just as captivating as the rest. She really brings detail in the lives of the characters
The story of Andreas De Wolfe and how on a dark night he rescues a lady from drowning or was it simply drowning? Gavriella has lost hope, he misery knows no end, until one night she decides to end it. When the most handsome of knights rescues her, can it be a new beginning?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
Andreas is chivalrous as he rescues the mysterious Lady Gavriella from an unexpected and scandalous venue! Circumstance throw them together and pull them apart as they navigate through secrets, intrigue and danger before they can find their happily ever after.
Great Story! Great characters! Great cover! Gavriella is a lost soul who is persuaded by her cousins to go to an underground gambling den (and other things) called Gomorrah (great name). She is very timid and frightened in this place. Andreas (Dray) who doesn't typically attend this type of establishment, rescues her and leads her out of this horrible place. This is the start of a very interesting relationship.
As a reader I got to watch the development of the character Gavriella as she gets sent to her Aunt's house in disgrace, leaves her aunt's house in disgrace to go home to try to forget Andreas and fit back into her childhood home. Things are not good at her home since her father found a companion.
There is a lot going on in this book; action - fighting and battles, intrigue, mystery, evil and love. What else would you want in a book? It is well written and a page turner that kept me interested until the end.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kathryn Le Veque and the publisher for giving me an opportunity to read an arc of WolfeBlade for free and I am giving an honest review.
What a wonderful adventure, especially when your favorite characters are involved. I felt like I had come home and entered an action-packed world with the best knights in the realm. The DeWolfe, Hage and Paris’s sons are among the best. I enjoy the exploits of the de Wolfe grandsons and this is Andreas’s story the second oldest, son of Troy. Evil has decided to destroy the family and it must be stopped. Naturally, there is a beautiful young woman that needs saving and Andreas calms the young lady emotions. The adventures they share bring are filled with so much excitement that you feel like you are sharing it with them. A great adventure and Thank you, Kathryn for another fantastic journey.
A prophecy that would change a woman and child's life is uttered and evil surrounds to bring power to those unworthy. To bring down the House of de Wolfe.
Gavriella de Leia has been abused and broken, then sent by her father to her aunt's house in London. Her terrible cousins take her to an underground place called Gomorrah, which lives up to it's name and she is desperate to leave. A stranger comes to her rescue and leads her outside.
Andreas de Wolfe was in London and he found himself at a an underground gild called Gomorrah at the urging of his friends. That is where he met her and helped get her out of the place when he found her huddled and terrified in a corner. He is a knight and man of honor and also very handsome. Oh yes, very.
As they spend time together, magic seems to happen, but soon evil steps back in and they are separated. Can they come back together and find love?
An intense story full of murder, evil, secrets and villains of the worst sort, but also a chance at a love that will last forever.
An Epic Medieval Romance
The de Wolfe men fight hard, and when they love, they fall hard. Andreas is no exception. This epic book might be long, but it kept me turning the pages, and I read it in less than half a day. If you like medieval romance with a lot of action, you will enjoy this story. There will be brutal fighting, but there will be love that knows no bounds. Will Andreas and Gavriella win against the evil that stocks them?
WolfeBlade by Kathryn Le Veque is vintage Le Veque. A knight, a lady in trouble, love, and a happy ending. Andreas (Dray) was William de Wolfe's grandson, Troy's son. He was in London on a mission for his grandfather; his two cousins and best friend all had joined him. Each with a mission of their own to fulfill. They were about done when they went to a tavern called The Pox for an evening of fun. They had it, of a sort, and then, his friend, Theodis, suggested another entertainment: a place called Gomorrah where all manner of debauchery could be found. Dray was not taken with it but on his way out he found a young woman (Gavriella) who was even less taken with it than he. She was crabby but grateful for his help. She had come with her cousins and she didn't know her way home. After tramping around for a while she finally managed to drive him away. She found herself at the river. It looked so enticing (based on her mood) that she simply walked in and kept walking. Dray had followed her and seen what she had done. He could not allow her to drown to he took off his armor and protective garments and dived in after her. He saved her but she was not happy. After much travail, they gave n to their attraction and agreed to meet the next day. She had a wonderful time, as did he, although he still knew nothing about her: her name or from whence she came. Nor she about him. They agreed to meet the next morning, but she never came. He waited all day, and the next, until his friends pulled him away and forced him to go home. There is so much more to this story, even at this point.
Dray still had residual pain from his mother being drowned along with his baby sisters, so many years ago. He had never been in love; never able to commit, knowing the pain that could follow. Well, now there was pain. Gavy was in just as much pain, despite the fact that he could never love her; not with her past. Plenty of side forces coming together to make this a love story for the ages. Andreas is a big man, in all ways, above petty gossip and accusations made by others. What was his, was his, and he took care of it. His family was large and loving and he liked it that way; he couldn't imagine it to be anything else. He was shocked when he found Gavy with her father; shocked at the way the man treated her. He is the kind of man we are all looking for: he always puts her first. This was a wonderful story, told by master storyteller, Le Veque. It soars with the twists and turns taken and the people out to destroy the lives of others. How she continues to come up with plot ideas after all the de Wolfe books she has written, but she does and this one is better than ever. Kathryn le Veque rocks!
I was invited to read a free ARC of WolfeBlade by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All opinions contained herein are solely my own. #netgalley #wolfeblade
Oh my goodness, this book was AMAZING! The plot was unique, the characters were deep and wonderfully well written, and the emotional it makes the reader feel takes from joy and laughter to sadness and tears. This book was a little different from Kathryn's other books because there is no sex until the very end of the book. I also loved how the books prequel tells the story of how Andreas came to be, he was an "early" baby. Both Andreas and Gavriella are strong, passionate people who had to let go of their past, her's is far more recent than his, inorder to find happiness. They also must fight an evil foe destined to destroy her and take everything they hold dear.
I received an ARC of this book and am volunteering an honest review.
Andreas de Wolfe is the son of Troy de Wolfe, and William de Wolfe is his grandfather. Andreas is pure de Wolfe warrior, who has little time for women. Even though he is in his late thirties he hasn't thought much about women and marriage. That is until he rescues Gavriella de Leia. There is instant chemistry between Andreas and Gavriella. Their initial time together takes on a playful banter as neither reveals their last names. In true Kathryn Le Veque style - Andreas and Gavriella are separated without knowing how to find each other. Andreas knows Gavriella is somewhere in the North, but the Scots are also creating problems along the border. Thus Andreas is delayed fighting. Andreas discovers Gavriella by accident when he is sent on a mission by his father.
The story is romantic, full of passion, and lots of suspense. Kathryn has such a fantastic talent of creating characters that just draw you into the story and into their lives. You just feel a part of Andreas and Gavriella's life. Thank you Kathryn for another outstanding story.
I received an ARC of this book and chose to post this review.
Andreas de Wolfe, son of Troy, grandson of Paris de Norville and William de Wolfe, the greatest knight England has known, has grown to be a strong, loyal and great knight in his own right. The one thing missing is someone to share his life with.
Gavriellea de Leia is a women with secrets. When the two meet it seems that the "something" they have both been looking for brings them together. Unfortunately, before they can get any farther life tears them apart. When they finally meet, all of the confusion, fears and secrets come to light. But in the end with the help of family and friends they are able to come together to make both of their dreams come true.
Filled with a lot of old and new characters, (and the Helm of Shame). Ms. Le Veque's newest book does not disappoint. I love how she combines the newest generation with the old to make stories that you can't put down.
another five star read from America's medieval queen!
thank you to NetGalley for giving me that chance to read this wonderful book, in exchange for an honest review.
Andreas de Wolfe and his constant companions were in London, bored and passing time at The Pox, a tavern with a quite seedy reputation. A reputation built on bets and the men that indulged in that pastime. Leaving the tavern abruptly, the men needed a new distraction, which led them to Gomorrah. Andreas was not comfortable and was deciding to leave, when a beauty caught his attention.
Lady Gavriella de Leia was very upset. Angry with her cousins for bringing her to this den of disgust, she was trying to find her way to the door, when she was attacked by a drunken stranger. After being rescued by Andreas, Gavy was torn between trusting him and fleeing for her life.
Andreas is enamored with Gavy and she with him. But, their plans to meet go awry when her cousins’ betrayal sends her home to her father and all of the dangers still waiting.
But, fate is not finished with them. When Andreas is sent to an outlying post, he finds his love and discovers her secrets. Will he turn his back on her or will he love her unconditionally?
A family with strong loyalties towards one another, the De Wolfe Clan support each other, play together and even mete out their own discipline in a way that preserves strong ties but brings order in their ranks. One cannot help but love them and their extended family. On a business trip to London, Andreas de Wolfe accompanies his cousins to a gambling den where anything goes. However, his distaste for the place has him finding an exit where he meets a hysterical young woman trying to make her own getaway. Despite his initial attraction towards Gavriella, she is nevertheless as prickly as a thorn bush. When Gavriella disappears from London, Andreas feels extreme disappointment, not realising that they are indeed fated to meet. Sent on a mission by his father, Andreas rediscovers Gabriella but with their meeting, the appalling truth about their initial meeting comes out. The story is romantic, and Andreas is a wonderful hero who sees beyond a pretty face. His need to protect Gavriella drives him, even to defending her against her own father. The story is suspenseful and romantic, coming to a very satisfying conclusion. I received a copy of this book from Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
WolfeBlade by Kathryn Le Veque
This is a Old school Le Veque Book and it is spellbinding and fierce! The characters relate to one another and the emotional process the author weaves together for them is unbelievable!
Andreas de Wolfe is a skilled Knight that has never found a soulmate. Then while in London he meets Gavriella, but all they do is exchange first names. Gavriella disappears and Andreas becomes despondent, but he actually becomes more aggressive on the battlefield.
This is one book that has Knights in action, true cherished love, intrigue, and family dynamics that will astound you! An all around Fantabulous book that is Unputdownable!
I would definitely recommend this book to friends and anyone looking for a breathtaking read!
I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.
Andreas de Wolfe is the son of Troy and grandson to William de Wolfe and Paris de Norville. A fierce warrior in his late thirties, he has never married. When he rescues a beautiful angel, Gavriella de Leia, his heart is hers. Then she disappears. With a broken heart, he takes his pain out on his enemies. Unexpectedly he finds her with a joyous reunion. When her pain and secrets are revealed, the compassionate man beneath the fierce warrior claims his angel and soothes her soul.
I laughed until I could not breathe and cried for their pain. No way could I not give 5 STARS. I wish I could give it more.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Get ready to swoon for this delicious warrior romance!
The story opens with a banging prologue that dramatically (and hilariously) describes the testosterone-driven world into which Andreas de Wolfe was born. From there, we jump ahead to a now-adult Andreas in London, where he runs across the very beautiful but very troubled Gavriella.
The action never stops, the family intrigue is every bit as captivating as the political villainy, and the love that blooms between Dray and Gavy will make even the hardest heart sigh. These two have a lot of trauma and mysteries to overcome on their way to a truly sublime HEA.
I loved the immediate immersion in this entrancing world, and I was so engrossed that I couldn't put the book down until I was done. The story is in no hurry as the events unfold over a rather lengthy period of time, but the delays are necessary in order to position the characters where they need to be. The author brilliantly transitioned between different settings and different points of view so we get unimpeded insight into all the simultaneous developments.
The story will challenge you to defy its definition of family while it reinforces the power of love to conquer all evil. There are a few truly heartbreaking moments where characters are faced with extremely difficult decisions, but through it all love finds a way and family is the only thing that matters in the end.
This author is among the very best in medieval romance and I highly recommend every single one of her books, including this one. It's an amazing addition to the de Wolfe Pack collection. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This book is the fourth book in the De Wolfe Pack Generations series and tells Andreas de Wolfe’s love story. The book begins with a prophecy that has a horrible impact on the life of Gavriella de Leia, who is the heroine of this book. Andreas and Gavriella bump into each other in a promiscuous gambling establishment. It is full of scandal and danger which is very overwhelming for Gavriella.
Andreas becomes her hero. He escorts her out of the building and eventually sees her home. They begin to develop a relationship, but it is cut short by Gavriella’s nefarious relatives. Fate will not let these two lovers be parted. Andreas is sent with the de Wolfe army to assist an ally with a potential Scottish attack.
This was a lovely story that has the couple battling an evil family bent on destroying them. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy Hannah Howell’s Murray Family series or Monica McCarty’s Highland Guard series.
I was provided an advanced reader copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion of the book.
