This is a well-written excerpt. I can see where the story is building to and really want to continue it once I get a chance to reread its predecessor. I, obviously, did not write a full review, since it’s only a few chapters. However, it’s intrigued me to continue.
Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo was a fantastically amazing book. It was so great to be back in this world and see what some of our favorite characters were up to.
I liked it. To be more specific i like how the story of nikolai , zoya and nina completes in this book. There a lot of plow twists in the book and i some point i was too confused. I loved the ending
The Rule of Wolves is in the Grishaverse and it's maybe the seventh book or so in the series. I enjoy reading this series, but it can be a bit much and sometimes confusing. There's lots of characters and so much world building; thus, you will find it entertaining to read.
Mi sento presa in giro.
Quindi niente, io mi stavo preparando a dargli 4 stelle piene, tutta contenta. Avevo cantato vittoria troppo presto. Quindi 3.5, ma solo perché mi ha fatto emozionare troppo per essere un 3.
One of the best books I have read all year. The world building was exquisite and the pace was pretty much perfect. I loved getting to see the character development in some of my most beloved characters.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
I am a die hard Leigh Bardugo fan and have been invested in the world of the grishaverse since the beginning. I adored Six of Crows and crooked kingdom and was so excited when the King of Scars duology stated it was going to predominantly follow Nikolai, a favourite character of mine!
The start of Rule of Wolves picks up right from the end of King of Scars and ends on such a cliffhanger (OMG!!) and I cannot wait to pick up the next book (hurry up Leigh!)
This book did not disappoint, which I am glad about as I had read mixed reviews, but for me it fulfilled all my expectations and more (enter the Crows!!!!). I love the way Leigh writes the characters so flawlessly and I feel so invested in Nikolai and Zoya.
Thank you so much for this arc.
"I have a surplus of bad ideas," said Nikolai. "I have to spend them somewhere.”
The truth is that Leigh Bardugo writes art! I just loved this book since the first page. I think Nikolai is one of my favorite characters!
The end of one of the most original stories I've read in recent years, is a story in a vast world full of secrets and characters with great personalities that catch you at their first appearance.
It is a duology that I am very fond of and I hope more people give it a chance.
Impeccable character development!
Danger surrounds Zoya, Nikolai and 19yo Nina as they fight to make their own paths and live with what has been dealt to them. Zoya is trying to figure out her powers and her place next to Nikolai. Nikolai is determined to conquer his beast and help his kingdom with Zoya alongside him. Nina is working to free the pregnant, enslaved, and drugged young Grisha, stop the evil ruler of Fjerda and create a new life without Matthias. Will they be able to stop war between Fjerda and Ravka or will evil conquer all?
Likes/dislikes: I love the author’s writing. The character development is impeccable. I love the perseverance of the characters.
Language: R for 36 swears and no f-words.
Mature Content: PG-13 for passionate kissing.
Violence: PG-13 for bloody death.
Ethnicity: The ethnicity is mixed with the following: bronze skinned, tawny skinned, light brown skin, Zoya is Suli (similar to Indian) and Nikolai, Genya, and Nina are white.
This was another good addition to the Grishaverse. I won't say that it was my favourite, because Six of Crows is very much up there, but I appreciate that like Six of Crows this was one of two. I am not a fan of series that go beyond one or two books simply because I am getting old and tend to forget the plots and don't have enough energy to re-read something. A few exceptions, mainly because the characters are so prevalent that I can get to book 20 and still feel like they haven't changed.
This picks up where the first book left off, and I will say (something that I thought with book one) it's interesting to see these characters through a different lens and a bit further on in their lives. I appreciate how Bardugo's books interweave with one another. Surprising that I actually haven't read the first book series, although yes, I watched the series on TV.
All in all a satisfying end. Some surprises but not spoiling the plot for anyone.
Such a wonderful adventure, the type to curl up to in your library or the corner of your room. The author does a great job.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
I have really come to enjoy the way Leigh Bardugo writes.. Can we also please take moment and talking about the stunning hardcover?
Leigh Bardugo is a magnificent storyteller. I can not wait to see how Rule of Wolves ends. Will Nicolai beat the demon inside? Will Nina be able to come to terms with the death of Matthias? This story will take you in and not release you until it’s over as all of her series have done.
I tried to finish this. I read the first of this duology and was invested in wanting to know what happened with most of the characters. But this book took forever and I decided it was not worth it-and flipped to the end to discover who died.
A spellbinding teaser to the conclusion of the King of Scars duology! Just enough to get you hooked and wanting more! Follows Nikolai, Zoya and Nina as they face their greatest challenges yet! Cant wait to grab a hard copy to finish!!
Love love love this book!
There were so many moments that made this book. Seeing Nina cope with her grief over losing Matthias. Nikolai struggling with the monster within himself. Zoya discovering the true strength of her abilities. Nikolai and Zoya's feelings for each other. Plus so many characters we've come to love returned — Alina, Mal, Kaz, Jesper, Wylan and Inej. Not to mention the return of some characters we don't love.
Bardugo really knocked it out of the park with this one.
I love Leigh’s writing. I’m such a huge fan of her stories! Although sometimes the outcomes are not what I would’ve wanted I have to say her world building and magical systems are epic! I love Nikolai so much. And the supporting characters are definitely a huge plus! So happy with this title!
Loved the sample of this book, and can't wait for the rest! Thank you for the sneak peek to build my anticipation for the novel!
Loved this book so much. Read it in about a week and loved every page of it. Well, except for one part. That part made me cry and I AM NOT OKAY. But definitely a satisfying conclusion to this newest entry into the Grishaverse.
