This is a sneak peek so not much I can say but this has really made me want to read this one!! Leigh Bardugo is so good
This book may end up killing me and this sampler has me begging for more. Hurry up March 30! This sampler gives us a good glimpse of what we're going to get and I cannot wait.
5/5
Returning to the world of the Grishaverse in this sampler has me all the more exited to read the full story at the end of March. Not sure if I'll be able to survive the wait, but I am so looking forward to reading. Even from these first few chapters it's clear that the aftermath from the concluding events of book one have transformed into even higher stakes. There's marriage, diplomacy, and war all on the line for our three main characters. With only a month left before publication, it's safe to say I am eagerly anticipating the conclusion to the series along with the deciding of Ravka's fate.
After reading the Rule of Wolves sampler I found myself wanting more. The author’s style of storyteller is more of a slow-burn approach, so keep that in mind if you’re not a fan of such writing; similar to George R R Martin, but not as much sidetracking. I really enjoyed the characters in the story thus far and am eager to see how they progress and develop. I will definitely be picking up this title on March 30th and hope the rest of the book draws me in as the sampler did.
Leigh Bardugo's Rule of Wolves is certainly the most anticipated book of 2021 and it will probably turn out as the best book of the year!
I was sucked by the Rule of Wolves’ sampler. Since the ending of King of Scars, I could not stop thinking about this duology and its characters. Everyone who read the Shadow and Bone trilogy was probably in love with Nikolai Lantsov and this duology is made for us. All our dreams come true with King of Scars. Nikolai Lantsov, Zoya Nazyalensky, and Nina Zenik are back for Bardugo’s best book series. If King of Scars presented well-written character developments, intriguing plots and shocking twists, Rule of Wolves will present even more of that! There is no doubt that Rule of Wolves is already the best book of 2021 as well as King of Scars was the best book of 2019, and this sampler confirms it. I would die for the digital ARC! (Hello, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, how are you today?). If you haven’t preordered Rule of Wolves yet, you should do it right now. Our king of scars and our storm witch are waiting for us to rule Ravka and our hearts for good. Is it March already? I think I cannot sleep with the knowledge that Zoyalai is coming (and my dearest Nina is coming too, of course)! The end of the epic King of Scars duology is among us, folks, but Bardugo’s worlds have just begun. Grishaverse fans, rise!
I didn't like King of Scars and I'm not actually planning on ever reading Rule of Wolves, most certainly after I just read the sampler. It was just more of the same, the same dragging storyline, the same bland characters, the same lack of information about anything. But for those that loved King of Scars I'm sure you'll love this one again.
Can't wait for this!!!! The teaser was excellent and I absolutely want to know more about what's going to happen to all my favorite characters.
I was totally sucked in by this sampler, and I want to have the whole book in my hands ASAP! March 30th can't come soon enough.
I was already anticipating the release of Rule of Wolves but after reading the first three chapters, March 30 can't come fast enough. Leigh Bardugo also did a great job recapping what happened in King of Scars, so a reread might not be required before going into the next book. I just have to know what happens with Nikolai and Zoya and Nina, and I'm equal parts excited and terrified for the end of this series.
Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo is easily my most anticipated read of 2021, The first chapter did not disappoint; it made me want to binge read the rest of the book in a single sitting. I absolutely adore Leigh Bardugo and the growth of her writing leading up to this book. I like how in The Grisha Trilogy we were engulfed in Ravka, in SIx of Crows we were introduced to Ketterdam and Fjerda. In King of Scars, we got to see more of Fjerda and Ravka. Now it seems we are being introduced to Shu Han. I am counting down the days until March 30.
I've had the audiobook preordered from the moment it became available on audible, and this sampler just further convinced me that the proper response when publication day comes around is to drop everything I'm reading and immerse myself once more into the Grishaverse. I absolutely cannot wait. I was hooked on every word, every name and turn of phrase, and I desperately want more.
It was just a sampler, but I'm hooked immediately. It is a compelling story with compelling characters and I cannot wait to read the full book.
