The first book in this series had me hooked. I love a good fairy tale kind of book. You got some fairy godmothers and I’m there for the ride.

I believe in happy endings, I do. Even when things get dire, there’s the incurably optimistic part of me that trusts it’s all for the best. Call it wishful thinking, call it magical thinking, but I need to believe everything will be okay in the end. This might explain my love for romance novels: happy endings are almost always a guarantee, and what makes all the difference in the world is the journey to get there.

Since my mood did not really improve in the past week, I decided another romance novel was exactly what I needed to feel more hopeful. My choice was Men Are Frogs, by Saranna Dewyde, for which I got an ARC from NetGalley in exchange of my honest review.

Disgraced wedding planner Zuri Davis is so relieved to be offered a job with Fairy Godmothers, Inc., she’s willing to trade the high-rise excitement of Chicago for the small-town charm of Ever After. Falling for one of her grooms, even unintentionally, was enough destroy her career and also to prove that all men are indeed frogs. But when she meets gorgeous B&B owner Philip Charming, who definitely lives up to his name, even she is tempted to test that theory…
What attracted me about this novel? The title –I know, it’s so funny– and the cover. I mean, it is cute and girly! When I picked it up, I suspected I was going to have a nice time reading it. And I did. Ever After is a peculiar, magical place where a lot of characters from our most beloved fairytales live. It’s fun, pretty and so charming that I wish I could go there on vacation at least once in my life. Kudos to the author for creating such a beautiful setting.

The characters are adorable, as perfect and good as I’d expect them to be in a fairytale. The fairy godmothers and their obsession with sugar (hey, I can totally relate!) made me chuckle every time, and I love how misunderstood Ravenna is. The romance is also very cute. I could sense from the very beginning that Zuri and Philip Charming were meant to be. So much that I also knew they’d overcome whatever obstacle life would throw at them. This ruined my fun a bit, because I wasn’t able to immerse myself in the story despite the stakes being very high.

Why? I would have loved to believe Ravenna was a real threat. That Alec could make Zuri question everything at least for a little bit. That the curse could really ruin Philip forever. But Zury and Philip were just too perfect for each other, and everyone was so confident they would have their happy ending that I had to believe it too.

It is not a con per se. This book is a fun, sweet read and it works as it is and not everything needs to be packed with drama all the time, but I have to admit that I didn’t pine and root for the main characters as much as I would have liked. For this reason, my rating is 3.5/5 stars.

Interesting read that had me laughing from page one. Because I mean how many times have we thought that man are frogs.

What a delightful, humorous adult fairy tale. Love this series.
Zuri, a wedding planner, got caught up in a disastrous wedding and ruined her career. The only place willing to give her a chance with a job was in Ever After with the Fairy Godmothers Inc. Zuri was not prepared for the magic of the town, or for her encounter with Phillip Charming. But she soon discovers that magic is all around and if she just follows her heart, her happily ever after is waiting for her.
Love the characters, the godmothers as always make me laugh. Great, light series. Looking forward to the next adventure.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Zuri, a wedding planner, comes to work with the Fairy Godmothers following a disaster at a wedding she had organised. There she meets Philip Charming, who owns the castle which is used as a B&B.
I did enjoy this book by a new to me author, a lighthearted take on fairy tales. With many of the favourite characters from such stories, with an evil queen to counterbalance the fairy Godmothers, a Prince cursed to be a frog by day and a man turned into a beast. There are a few spicy moments in the book if that isn't your thing. A very pleasant way of spending a few hours hiding from the world and having a chuckle.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

"It’s kind of nice having fairy godmothers. Happy meddling!”

The last thing any wedding planner wants is to find out that she has been seeing the groom of the wedding she has been planning, this is exactly what happens to Zuri. With the last wedding she planned going up in literal flames Zuri finds herself pretty much shunned in the wedding community, which is exactly how she finds her self heading to the magical little down of Ever After for a job interview with Fairy Godmothers Inc. Fully down and out given up on love Zuri definitely did not expect to find her very own price Charming.

••

"Oh, but Phillip Charming was dangerous. He was handsome, and silly, and . . . And if she hadn’t just had her heart broken, she’d have taken him to bed. Right then, right there. She still wanted to."

Phillip Charming has spent the better part of 300 years sitting in a pond living out his punishment as a frog, after upsetting Petty. With true loves kiss being the only thing that can break his curse Phillip is fast running out of time but there is just something about the new comer that just calls to Phillip's heart, the question is will Zuri be able to break the curse before its to late?

"He found himself for the first time imagining a future. Not just all the things he would do once he no longer had to spend his days green, but he imagined this. With Zuri."

••

“Sugar is always the answer.” Petunia nodded.
“If it can’t be fixed with a brownie, try an ice cream soda. If that doesn’t work, well, we go to the sugarcane spirits.” Bon-Bon giggled .
“That’s what I’m going to call it from now on. We’re consulting the spirits.”

Oh my sweetness this was just perfection, I thought I loved Lucky and Ransom that is until I got into Zuri and Phillip's book. I loved getting to see the Godmothers again, these three little ladies were just amazing, I loved every bit of their sugar crazy meddling!

••

"No one was perfect but that I would meet someone perfect for me. That our angels and our demons would play well together. I wouldn’t have thought that. Our angels, maybe. But not our demons.”

Zuri was such a sweetheart, I loved getting to see her fall in love with love again. Even though she wasn't magical watching her plan weddings was magical in itself. As for our price Charming, my heart went out to him for his frogy time but I do think he definitely learnt his lesson.

••

"She was torn between wanting him to grab her, kiss her hard, and bang her like a screen door in a hurricane,"

The secondary characters in this book were top notch so much so they rivaled the mains, I absolutely can not wait to get Hunters book and hopefully Ravenna's as well! I loved that they all had bits to contribute. Also how cute was Zeva!

I love a good fairytale romance and DeWylde has created the perfect mix of swoony sweetness and steamy romance topped of with a sprinkle of fairy dust. This is definitely a series to read!

What an absolute riot! Loved the first book, "Fairy Godmothers, Inc", and giggled through it so was glad to get a preview of Men Are Frogs and it was just as wonderful as the first book! I love how DeWylde turns a classic fairytale and turns it on it's ear with hilarious outcomes. Zuri and Phillip are wonderful as are all the characters. Hope to read more in the future

I really can't decide if I love this one as much or more than book one. Saranna Dewylde is one of those rare gems that I could read all day every day. I love her characters, her wit, and her created worlds. I can not wait for more in this series.

Men are Frogs by Saranna DeWylde is the second novel in the Fairy Godmothers, Inc series. In this story, wedding planner Zuri Davis has come to the town of Ever After after her business went spectacularly up in flames, quite literally after she and the bride of the wedding she was planning discovered that the groom-to-be had been seeing Zuri on the side.

Hoping to escape the media circus and her nurse her broken heart, Zuri has decided to accept the job of in-house wedding planner at Ever After. Along the way she meets the owner of the castle where most weddings will take place, Philip Charming. The two hit it off almost immediately, but Philip has a secret of his own.

In a town where fairy tales are true, Philip is the real-life Prince Charming but by day he is also a frog and has been for the last 300 years. Desperate to rid himself of this curse and struggling against his growing feelings for Zuri, can these two bridge the issues of their past and claim a stake in a future together? All will be revealed in charming and sweet details.

I really enjoyed this story, almost more than the first book in the series. I loved how DeWylde has expanded on her town of Ever After, allowing us even more insights into the quirky residents of the town. I look forward to more in this series.

Note: I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I found this book fun and easy to read. Enjoyed myself and laughed in some parts. Loved how the fairytale retelling was executed. Recommend for sure.

This book was a cute easy read. I had trouble connecting to rhe charscters. It lacked the emotional connevtiin that i really love in a book.
It was okay but thats it.

What a wonderfully uplifting book! I just adored all the quirky characters, gentle humour and beautifully imagined fairy tale setting. It’s ideal to escape into after a bad day and I will definitely be re-reading it again in the future.

This book was so much fun! I found myself laughing out loud several times. The fairy godmothers were a riot and I really liked the main characters as well. Zuri was really sweet and relatable, and I liked that Phillip's backstory wasn't perfect because it made their relationship more believable. Their interactions were super sweet and I thought they made a good match. Overall, this was a sweet funny story, a quick read too, and I really recommend it.

Excellent read! Prince Charming falls in love with an ordinary girl. Can she accept that he is a frog part time? Will the idea of magic make her pack up and leave Ever After? Charming has been a frog so long he has almost given up hope. Then Zuri stops by the fountain and kisses him. Is she the one? Will he be a frog forever or will the curse be broken? I enjoyed the twists and turns of this take of the fairy tale.

I DNF’d this book early on. It’s partially my fault. I didn’t realize that the fairy godmother aspect of it was literal. I thought it was more of a figurative kind of concept. It was just a bit too over the top for me. If you’re into that kind of thing, you may like it.

In the scond book of Fairy Godmothers Inc. , disgraced wedding planner Zuri Davis has been offered a job with the Fairy Godmothers. Eager to get out of town and repair her ruined reputation, she is excited to head to Ever After for this new adventure. Little does she know that the first wedding she will be planning will have ties to the reason her career was destroyed in the first place. On top of that, Prince Charming, who was cursed by the Fairy Godmothers to become a frog by day for two-timing with two of the Fairy Godmothers and breaking their hearts, has just found out that the curse is about to become permanent. Despite everyone new kissing him when they visit Ever After, he has yet to experience true love's kiss. Oh, and did you know there is such a thing as Frog Pox?There is never a dull moment in Ever After.
I absolutely adore this series. It is a mash-up of comical, romantic, whimsical and just plain fun. I love the setting of Ever After. It features characters from all of the main fairy tales. The Fairy Godmothers are adorable, too. They run on sugar - I mean, who doesn't, and they have a penchant for peach cobbler flavored edible fairy dust. This is perfect for anyone who loves to laugh, enjoys a little bit of romance, or would love to feel the magic of beging a kid again.

Zuri is cursed. Her love life has been a recent disaster that has started to effect her career as a wedding planner. Zuri is leaving everything behind and moving to Ever After to join the Fairy Godmothers Inc wedding planning. Insert Prince Charming, who is also cursed. Will they cross paths and be able to break their curses or will the be doomed forever?

This was a great follow up to the first book in the series, which I recently read. I like how each book can be read as a stand alone book but also follows the series. This book was a little more steamy than the first and gave off a more mature vibe. I would recommend this series and can't wait for the next read!

4 stars

Not my normal read. It was cute and quirky. The ex boyfriend whose behaviour was poor got his comeupance. It's a bit like Beauty and the Beast with an enchanted castle that delivers everything you need. Three fairy Godmothers and one in training. A prince charming that spends have his times as a frog. An Evil queen who's actually quite friendly. The heros bestie that's actually a beastie and is probably owed his own book later on.

I thought it read more like screen play with lots of dialogue a little bit of descriptions and nothing too heavy.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An adorable retelling with the real life fairy tale counterparts living their lives in Ever After, Missouri.

Zuri is a wedding planner who committed the faux pas of falling for the groom in her last wedding, though to be fair, she didn't know it at the time. When she decides to apply for a job for Fairy Godmothers, Inc., she's happy to have a place where she can escape and regroup. What she didn't expect was to meet Philip Charming, a real prince of a guy with a secret. Yup, that one. And along the way, romance happens.

This is the type of story where I'm more intrigued by the setting than the characters, and I wished that the chemistry between Zuri and Philip was a little bit stronger. I enjoyed the town of Ever After and how all the characters interact, than in the romance itself. Overall, my problem is I don't get lost in the connection between the characters. But if fairy tales are your gig, you may enjoy it more than I did.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC.

Ok, firstly, fair warning; I fell in love with the town of Ever After and its characters in, ‘Fairy Godmothers, Inc so was predisposed to enjoy this title too, except, if possible, I think that I enjoyed it even more.

Philip Charming, B&B owner and part time Frog Prince (yes, he’s that Prince Charming) is desperately seeking a cure for his froggy curse; enter Zuri Davis who is desperately seeking to reestablish herself... Add in three and a half, mischievous, meddling, sugar addicted Fairy Godmothers and you get another rollicking romance.

The author has written a fantastic fairytale romance and I was left hanging out for the next title in the series.

*Please note: can be read as a standalone but some references would make more sense, and be more humorous, if you read the series in order. So do yourself a favour and buy/order them all.*
