Colorado cowboy by Diana Palmer
This is a sweet romance about a wealthy woman who witnesses a murder, yet finds her happily ever after with a war veteran.
I am not a great fan of novellas because: (a) I have difficulty relating to the characters; and (b) the story feels rushed. However, in Lone Wolf, Diana Palmer gave enough detailed information that I was able to connect with these characters. When I reached the end, the story felt complete (although I would have like more).

The Wolf on her Doorstep by Kate Pearce
This was a short book about Beth, a divorced mom parenting 2 teenage boys. Conner is a Navy SEAL learning to cope after an accident forces him to retire. Beth treats Conner for an infection after his encounter with barbed wire. After a night together, each realizes that something special could grow between them.
There is a second situation that challenges Beth's parenting and her relationship with her sons. However, the story really glosses over this volatile issue and the predictable HEA ending wraps it all up nice and neat. Disappointing.

Rescue Cowboy Style by Rebecca Zanetti
Can I just say I want my own Trent?!?
When Hallie shows up at a bar in the middle of a rainstorm with no purse and no car, Trent knows she is in trouble. When he makes it his business to find out what has Hallie running scared, this alpha protector will tackle her problems with all his skills, including his brother in arms.
This was a fast paced action-packed story that left me cheering. The writing was crisp, characters well-defined and a kick butt plot. Loved it!
5 stars.
Let's be real, I got this book solely for the story by Rebecca Zanetti inside it!!! She is phenomenal and it never ceases to surprise me how she can switch between different gebres of romance without breaking a sweat. This was another swoon worthy, hilarious romance only with a cowboy this time. Ye haw!
Each of the authors creates an entertaining story that delivers on drama, emotion, and a feeling of authenticity. I enjoyed that each book which resonated with realism. The various characters exude a mix of strength and fragility, dealing with personal issues and tribulations. Seeing each couple experience the path to love was charming.

COLORADO COWBOY DIANA PALMER
3*
Just a ok story. I liked the storyline and the characters but the story it’s self, was rather corny for me.
THE WOLF ON HER DOORSTEP KATE PEARCE
3.5*
I felt that I was missing some history is the story. Most likely this is a part of a series. Conner and Beth had good chemistry. Conner the wounded brooding hero and Beth with a wounded past. They take a chance at a temporary relationship that just might be their hea.
RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE REBECCA ZANETTI
4.5*
Trent and Hallie’s story is a great start to what will probably be another awesome series by Rebecca Zanetti. The world building and the characters are very interesting and intriguing. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
What a find!! This is 3 novels in 1 book!
And each novel is fantastic!
These are 3 of my favourite authors! To find them all in one book is a treat.
They have suspense ... drama ... a wolf ... and a HEA.
More please!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
"Lone Wolf" is a trio of novellas by Diana Palmer, Kate Pearce, and Rebecca Zanetti, three of the best authors of the genre. Each novella depicts a wolf that is as much a part of the story as the male and female lead. Rather than rate each story individually, I am doing it as a whole as all the stories in this collection is by authors that western romance readers have fallen in love with over the years. That being said, if you are a reader that has missed reading any of them, now is the time to pick up this collection to see what all the fuss is about. **I was gifted "Lone Wolf" via NetGalley, leaving my review based on my reading.** 5 Stars
Colorado Cowboy by Diana Palmer
The Wolf on Her Doorstep by Kate Pearce
Rescue: Cowboy Style by Rebecca Zanetti
I love to see authors coming together to write a book.
In this case it's multiple stories that have an underlying connection, and I find that an interesting concept and one that I've never encountered until now. The stories had some suspense and drama to them along with the element of romance present in all the stories.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the earc in return for an honest review.
What a great book by three amazing authors, I wish the stories were longer!! I’ve only read Rebecca Zanetti which is why I even wanted to read the book but Diana Palmer & Kate Pearce are authors I’ll definitely be reading again. Colorado Cowboy by Diana Palmer is Ester Marist & Butch Matthew’s story w/Two-Toes the wolf. The Wolf On Her Door by Kate Pearce is Beth Baker & Conner O’Neil’s story with Loki his dog/wolf. Rescue - Cowboy Style by Rebecca Zanetti is Trent Logan & Hallie Rose’s story with Harley the wolf. They are all well written, entertaining, emotional, funny, have wonderful characters you’ll love, support animal rescue & love of animals and had hot cowboy’s!! You will be rooting for these couples to get their HEA that they all deserve & will enjoy going on the journey with them!! I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.
I liked the Diana Palmer book inside this book, but was very excited to read the other books as well. I hadn't read either author and thought they were both someone I'd like to read more of. I also loved the wolf connection in all three books.
An ARC from netgalley/publisher for an honest review
The entire reason I wanted this book was to read Diana Palmer’s story. She is one of my favorite authors and there really isn’t anything I have read by her or feel she can't write. But the other two authors surprised me. Kate Pearce and Rebecca Zanetti their stories was able to pull and keep in. My first book by both of them.
Description from book:
Loyal as a wolf--and just as strong and untamed--three solitary heroes are about to meet their perfect partners, in this thrilling collection from a trio of New York Times bestselling authors...
COLORADO COWBOY by DIANA PALMER
Fleeing her mother's killer, Esther Marist ends up at a rugged stranger's cabin. A wildlife rehabilitator with a menagerie that includes an elderly wolf, Matthews isn't the type to turn any creature away. As Esther heals, she realizes how much danger she's brought to his door--and how far he'll go to protect her.
THE WOLF ON HER DOORSTEP by KATE PEARCE
Beth Baker senses her grumpy summer tenant must be in trouble when his pet wolf shows up at her door, demanding she follow. Conner O'Neil, solitary and stubborn, doesn't want Beth's help--but only he can show her how to trust again.
RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE by REBECCA ZANETTI
Trent Logan has his ranch, his friends, and his wolf, and that's more than enough--until a shivering city girl runs into the Cattle Club to escape a Wyoming storm. Her eyes hold a world of secrets, and he'll have to face the demons of his own past in order to save them both.
The stories in this anthology feature animal wolves, males who are wounded warriors, and women who just need a safe to place to heal. They are wonderful stories. I adore how the love that develops are a perfect contrast to the danger and fascinating men.
And as always Happy Reading!!!
This book contains three western novellas with the heroines all running from dangerous people from various backgrounds and a variety of reasons. They are smart and strong women, but know they need help to fight the criminals involved. They each meet their cowboys who have wolves associated with them, hence the title. The men also come from various backgrounds and support/assist the women as they conquer their problems. These are enjoyable stories that show the resilience and strength of people working together. I especially enjoyed Rebecca Zanetti's novella and hope she plans a series for the rest of the team.
Love love love! 3 great stories in 1 book by 3 of my favorite authors. Everyone loves cowboys, especially the strong and sometimes deadly ones. Match them to strong heroines and wow! Throw in some suspense and romance and you have book worth reading.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
Lone Wolf is an interesting collection of stories by Diana Palmer, Kate Pearce and Rebecca Zanetti. I couldn't connect with Esther character in Colorado Cowboy. They all had a HEA and what's not to like with Cowboys and wolves. Some stories I enjoyed more then others. Kate Pearce and Rebecca Zanetti are new authors too me. I recieved an ARC from Net Galley and Kensington for my honest opinion.

Lone Wolf is a set of three modern western romances. Colorado Cowboy is an age gap romance by Diana Palmer. The next story is The Wolf on Her Doorstep by Kate Pearce. The last story is Rescue: Cowboy Style by Rebecca Zanetti. I enjoyed all of them immensely. I have read and enjoyed books by Palmer and Pearce prior to this but not Zanetti. I was pleasantly surprised and would absolutely read another by Zanetti.
I received a complimentary arc in return for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sweet romance…
Colorado Cowboy by Diana Palmer
Esther was at a crossroads in her life, fleeing from violence and loss, she had few options. Landing on her feet, helping hands offered her a leg up to find her feet and figure things out. Matthew was used to rescuing wild animals but petite blondes should have been out of his wheelhouse. Surprisingly, they hit it off and soon were working together and falling in love. Esther may have been a bit naïve for this century even if it was explained yet I couldn’t help but like her and how she loved Matthew….
The Wolf on her Doorstep by Kate Pearce
A stand-offish recluse meets independent divorcee in a romance that had both questioning some of their choices. Beth couldn’t help but be gently pushy as she helped Conner recover from illness, despite his many protests. Turnabout was fair play as he couldn’t help but offer advice as she struggled with family issues. Theirs was a quick path to love but I couldn’t help but feel they were right for each other and were mature enough to know what their feelings were. Taking turns being salty, I loved this snack-sized discovery of love…
Rescue: Cowboy Style by Rebecca Zanetti
Trent and Hallie were an unlikely pair – an accountant and a cowboy. Or was he? I liked the chemistry, the banter and the instant attraction they had. There was mystery surrounding both of the main characters, hiding from each other and the reader. The uncovering of the whys and whats, as the duo worked through and embraced their growing relationship, was a cowboy-centric fun read. Their story read too quickly for my taste, I wanted more of the banter and the realization that they cared for each other. Trent had a lot of ‘family’ though and I would love to hear from all of them…
**
These stories were sweet stories packed in fast-paced novellas. Cowboys, along with their trusty wolves, were key as they fell in love with women who ended up being their perfect matches. A solid trio, with no unnecessary or crazy drama, they were satisfying, rainy day afternoon reads…
Lone Wolf is an anthology joining Diana Palmer, Rebecca Zanetti and Kate Pearce.
I chose to read it for the first two authors I know well. Diana Palmer is a renowned author of contemporary romance published since 1979. Rebecca Zanetti is more recent but I’m fan of her romances in general. Seeing those two authors in a single anthology pleasantly surprised me, especially as the novellas are unpublished.
Colorado cowboy by Diana Palmer
Diana Palmer has a long series (Long, Tall Texan) but I can’t say if this novella is part of it. In any case, the heroine has the same surname as the author’s two sisters and ex-heroines but there’s no link at first glance.
In Colorado cowboy, Esther Marist, our heroine, sees her mother’s murder and she flees at the latter’s request, and out of fear of reprisal from the murderer, her mother’s boyfriend. In her escape, she meets the hero, Butch Matthews, who understands she has some problems and decides to help her. The attraction is immediate between both characters, and very soon Esther confides in him, while hiding an important element of her life. That’s what will come between them at one point.
It had been a long time since I read a recent Diana Palmer’s story and I understand why I took a break from her. In Colorado cowboy, I (unfortunately) found the flaws too recurrent in her books: too much repetition, too many clichés, especially with a heroine young, virgin, naïve, pious… I don’t have any problem with that, but Diana Palmer tends to put them all in the same character (the heroine) and it becomes tiresome. What’s more, I had a big problem with the role taken by the heroine’s mother: she had some flaws, of course, but the more we progress in the book, the more the author gives her all the possible and conceivable flaws. And finally, I didn’t like at all the resolution of the conflict that separates the heroes for a short time.
In spite of that, I read the story to the end, so it can be read easily, but do not expect something modern, it’s Diana Palmer after all.
The wolf on her doorstep by Kate Pearce
Beth Baker is a divorced woman, mother of a child and guardian of another. She supervises the management of a ranch where there are cabins rented to people. Conner O’Neil, our hero, has recently rented one of them, but being a loner and grumpy in nature, he didn’t make a good impression with her.
However, an incident forces Beth to go to the cabin in order to check if everything is all right. When she arrives, she realizes he’s injured himself and she decides to help him. This novella had more emotion than the previous one. Between the relations the heroine has with her son, and her difficult past with her ex-husband, she doesn’t trust men and we can understand it. However as the story is short, the heroes quickly yield to their attraction. The problem will come from the feelings growing between the heroes and for which they’re not prepared, and also from the heroine’s son.
Kate Pearce is an author I hadn’t read before and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this story. I liked that the heroes don’t have doubts at first and I appreciated the way the story is solve all in all.
In any case, it’s a very likable and moving story, which raised the anthology’s level.
Rescue : cowboy style by Rebecca Zanetti
Trent Logan, a confirmed bachelor, meets our heroine, Hallie, when she’s facing a particularly violent storm. The heroine, guided by a lone wolf, arrives in the bar where he is. Trent is attracted to her as soon as he sees her and hopes to spend the night with her. But he soon realizes she’s in distress and he decides to help her. As they spend time together, he understands she’s in danger. She doesn’t want to talk about it, in order for him not be in danger, but he doesn’t want to give up, not only because he thinks about keeping her but also because he has skills allowing him to help her.
I liked this story a lot, but that didn’t really surprise me, coming from Rebecca Zanetti. The heroes are every likable, Trent is an alpha male who doesn’t give up on the heroine even if she turns him down, and the story evolves well in spite of the short size. By the way, it’s the longest novella in the anthology, probably because of the suspense. I also appreciated the help of the hero’s brothers in arm, who by the way have good potential to be future heroes.
To conclude, Lone Wolf is an anthology with which I had a good time globally. All the stories are unpublished and standalones and are not linked one to the other at all. The only link is the wolf, different in each novella, and it has an important role.
This book includes 3 novellas. They are not connected to each other.
COLORADO COWBOY by DIANA PALMER is the first and I gave it 3 stars. It was a good story but it seemed a little immature to me. Ester is a young woman running for her life and considering her past she seemed very naïve. I just didn't find it all that believable. This was my first book b this author.
THE WOLF ON HER DOORSTEP by KATE PEARCE was my favorite of the 3. I loved the grumpy summer tenant who doesn't want to need help. But Beth is not put off by him. I enjoyed the push and pull with them. I also like the family dynamic of this story. I hope to read more from this author. I wished this had been a full length novel. This was my first book by this author. 4 stars
RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE by REBECCA ZANETTI is about Trent and Hallie. Trent and his "bothers" are over the top alpha males. I was intrigued to find out what their story was. This book had a MC feel. Hallie found herself in need of help, but doesn't trust anyone and this group of men leave her with a lot of questions and wondering if she can trust Trent. I hope to see more books telling us about these men. 4 stars
I read this anthology for Kate Pearce and Rebecca Zanetti's stories. I was again not impressed with Diana Palmer's story. As I ARC read for Pearce I am very familiar with her Morgan Valley characters. Rebecca Zanetti's Rescue Cowboy Style is a prequel for a new upcoming series. It's really good and I can't wait for it to start.
Diana Palmer's Colorado Cowboy, is the story of Butch Matthews who has the old almost blind wolf two-toes. It was nice to visit and learn that Matthews finally finds love in this world she's visits in these anthologies. He finds Ester Marist on his doorstep passed out in a blizzard one night. She's been fleeing from her Mother's killer. Butch is a wildlife rehabilitator for the forest service. His friend Parker saved his life in the military and we've has his story last time. Crusty Butch quickly realizes Ester is in trouble and he and the town comes together to save her.
Kate Pearce's The Wolf on her Doorstep, is Beth Baker's story. We met her in the previous book The Rancher Meets His Match, as the physical therapist for Juan Garcia. Juan's off on vacation and she's watching over the ranch for him. He has cabins on the ranch and one of them houses Conner O'Neil a former SEAL friend of Jay Williams who needs a place to spend the summer. He's grumpy, stubborn, has PTSD and has a pet wolf he picked up in Alaska. Beth comes out to the ranch with Conner's supplies he hasn't picked up and met by Conner's wolf. She knows something's wrong. When she gets to his remote cabin and discovers Conner is burning up with fever, she nurses him back to health. He ends up helping her with her son who takes off to visit his Dad in prison.
Rebecca Zanetti's Rescue: Cowboy Style, is a wonderful story about Trent Logan and his fellow brothers who own a huge ranch as a co-op. He and his non-blood brothers have a bond forged from a past of torture. They have various ops skills from their time in the service as well as special training during their imprisonment. Hallie Rose shows up in the middle of a huge storm at their co-op's clubhouse. She's followed a wolf in the dark after her car crashes off the road in the storm. He finds himself drawn to and gives her dry clothes, food and a place to sleep. He later drags her story out of her about who she's running from and why. She accidentally overheard her boss & his sons talking about a murder and embezzlement operation at their accounting firm she works for. She's without funds and can't trust the local law enforcement as it's tied to her boss & his sons. Trent and his brothers use their skills to protect her. Trent realizes she's the one for him as they spend time together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Three amazing authors joined in an amazing bundle of books.
COLORADO COWBOY 4 stars
When reading about Butch in the previous book I got another expectation of his character so in the story, he is a completely different person so that confused me. The story is sweet and has a lot of sweet moments everything is almost perfect and all goes well until the end.
THE WOLF ON HER DOORSTEP 5 stars
This one is my favorite in the bundle. Sometimes the story doesn't need a lot of pages to make a good story. This one is perfect as it is. With two great characters who find each other and love. A story about family, finding to trust again, and to love.
RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE 5 stars
I think that Rebecca Zanetti cant write a bad book and this story is proof of that another book with interesting characters, their background, action suspense, and romance. As always humor is involved and makes this an enjoyable fantastic read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Three stories in one book, brilliant. The great thing is you can read in any order and not skip a beat, and sometimes, one story shines above the rest. It seems for me that the first two stories, “Colorado Cowboy” by Diana Palmer and “The Wolf on her Doorstep” by Kate Pearce segue into the last book that really shines among the three, “Rescue: Cowboy Style” by Rebecca Zanetti. The common factor running through all three, a lone wolf and an alpha type cowboy, which really make the journey frequently bumpy, fun, engaging on the trip to the HEA.
“Colorado Cowboy” is classic Diana Palmer, and sets the stage out in the ranges of Colorado, the main female character Esther, born to wealth and privilege, is on the run from her stepfather after witnessing the murder of her mother. She lands on the doorstep of wildlife rehabber Butch Matthews who keeps company with a lone three-legged blind wolf named Two-Toes. Butch has his demons from serving in Iraq but does not hesitate to take on the danger that Esther is running from in an effort to make her safe. As we watch Esther normalize into her new blue-collar existence it is obvious that Butch and Esther are destined to be together in this sugary sweet story.
“The Wolf on Her Doorstep” is by an author, Kate Pearce, who I have not previously read, but the story was well-done and of course involves a lone wolf, a strong woman, Beth Baker, on her own with her teenage sons, and Conner O’Neil who renting a remote cabin, and there is a wolf hanging with Conner – Beth is the property manager. Beth and Conner are fighting their own demons– but together they both find their way, and even the teenage boys come around. This was a fun trip in a remote cabin that was less tame than the preceding story, and not quite as sweet, but strong women connecting with alpha men is always interesting.
“Rescue: Cowboy Style” is from one of my favorite authors and to be honest the reason I gave this book a chance. Yet another great story with a great group of characters in the hills of Wyoming. Hallie shows up at “The Lodge” in a raging storm, soaked and chilled to the bone – the lone wolf found her and led her there. Here, Hallie meets Trent Logan, who finds that Hallie is different than the gals he normally meets. Yes, there is an instant attraction between Trent and Hallie, and she is fighting it the entire time – until she doesn’t, but she is also on the run from some seriously bad people and Trent Logan has decided that he and his ‘brothers’ are just the folks to make Hallie’s world a safer place. This story was excellent – another great romance world, Cowboy Style, from Rebecca Zanetti. Love me some cowboys 😊
This was a great way to experience new author’s and different writing styles. Knowing that Rebecca Zanetti was one of the authors was the deciding factor to read this book, and it was worth it!
