The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is one of my favorite books of all time, and this book club kit just added to my feelings of warm fuzzies towards the novel. The kit includes discussion questions and an interview with Matt Haig. It certainly would enhance any book club meeting.

THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY IS A FANTASTIC BOOK, AND THIS BOOK CLUB KIT WAS A FANTASTIC ADD-ON. I LOVE WHEN BOOKS HAVE PROVIDED DISCUSSION QUESTIONS AVAILABLE BECAUSE IT HELPS GUIDE DISCUSSIONS. THE INTERVIEW WITH MATT HAIG WAS A NICE INCLUSION.

My book club enjoyed using this Book Club Kit to enhance our discussion of The Midnight Library, The kid helped us stay on track with our discussion and gave us relevant questions to ponder instead of our usual, did you like the book question we usually ask.

This was such a popular book in 2021. I kept seeing reviews on it so I gave in. It's a great concept. I really liked all the characters, I just felt like it went on too long. I was ready to wrap it up long before the book was over. I enjoyed it, I just wouldn't tell everyone they have to read this book.

I would have liked to see more creativity with this Book Club Kit. Among the ones I have reviewed, I’ve seen bookmarks, paper dolls, recipes, alternate book suggestions, and considerate additives like a content warning and list of hotlines.

This kit lacks all of that and has only discussion questions and an author interview. Those are great, but it leaves the kit feeling kind of empty.

A cool addition could be a quiz section, like a choose your own adventure, to put yourself in the shoes of someone in the Midnight Library, looking in at the lives you may have lived.

I also would have liked to see more book suggestions, because after all, the book is about a library full of books. Suggestions are called for.

A helpful guide for novice book clubs. Perhaps not the most thorough aid available and does not instigate truly thought provoking conversation as this book allows. Speaking from the perspective of someone who has read this book as part of a book club and held a vivid discussion of the novel that elaborated much more than this aid encourages.

Overall, a pleasant and useful guide but a tad basic. The additional comments from the author added interest.

A great book for a book club! Would recommend to any book clubs who touch on deeper topics as there are heavy themes of depression and some drug use in this books

This kit is great for a bookclub. It is thought provoking and helps focus discussion and reflection. I'd recommend to anyone looking to delve into the intricacies of the book.

Great book club kit! I didn’t fully read that this was not the actual book, which is my own fault. I would use this 100% if I had the book in my possession!

This kit was interesting. Not the whole book but more bookclub based. A useful guide if you want to check out the book.

Page one:
" Between life and death there is a library," she said. "And within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides the chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would have been if you'd made other choices....Would you have done anything different, if you had a chance to undo your regrets?"
Nora Seed is an extremely intelligent young woman but she is very depressed. Life didn't turn out as she thought and she decides to end her life. She "wakes up" in a library at midnight and the librarian from her childhood school is there. The librarian was always kind to her and becomes her guide assisting with choices.

There is a book of regrets she has Nora read through and the more she reads, the more upset she becomes. Now she has a chance to drop in on a life she regrets losing. Perhaps that will be the perfect life for Nora. You don't go back in time but join the life you would have if you'd taken that path.

Nora wishes she'd married Dan and pursued his dream of opening a pub in the English countryside. She visits many lives she could have had because each choice we make in life would take us on a different path. She can become the olympic swimmer, a married woman with children, a successful musician, a dog walker and it goes on and on.

It's not the type of book I had thought it would be and yet I was loving every single chapter. This is a marvelous book and reminds you the grass isn't always greener. No life choice is perfect and you aren't guaranteed of smooth sailing with zero heart ache.

It turned out well, loved the ending chapters and I can recommend this book as a very enjoyable read. It's emotional and uplifting.

Sharing with Joy's Book Blog for British Isles Friday. as it's set in England. Author Matt Haig is an English novelist.

Note: Netgalley provided me with a bookclub kit for this book. Alas, I wasn't able to view the kit/verbage as it was "faded" - can't think of another way to describe it. Couldn't see it.

This wasn’t the book in its entirety. This is more bookclub based and a Q&A regarding the author’s mindset when writing the book. I am more interested in picking this book up now that I’ve seen this glimpse into the the book itself.

"Let's be kind to the people in our existence."

I love the "Five People You Meet in Heaven" vibe this book gave me throughout my read. This book will definitely open your eyes to different aspects of your life you may have not noticed before. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is wanting to be exposed to looking at life from many different points of view, and seeing all the many possibilities!

This was…. Different? I guess you would say fantasy meets contemporary literature with a setting in England. A bit all over the place, the plot is choppy. Perhaps I missed some analogies, but it wasn’t my cuppa.

I loved this book and the questions were very well laid out. It was easy to talk about and I would totally get more of these for my book club in the future
