I thought I was getting the actual book but all I was getting was the Book Club Kit. Therefore I couldn’t read the book itself. Sigh. But I hear it’s great.
As I read and contemplate using Haig’s book as a source for a sermon this is a very useful tool to help bring up themes, perspectives and questions for consideration. Very helpful.
Loved this book club kit. My friend and I found it to be super helpful in gauging our discussion for The MIdnight Library.
Tried this out with some people I read the book with. I didn't like that the questions weren't really specific to the book but were very general. They did pose good conversation topics, vehicles for social conversation and I guess ice breakers, but the questions themselves were a bit vague for my literary interests.
This was a great addition to my book club discussion. We really enjoyed the extras from this book club kit. I’m so glad I found it!
As a resource, this gem adds novel value to the experience of thinking about possibilities we don't often confront in life. Decisions are so important, and Haig does a good job bringing this perspective to life.
Excellent read, and although I misunderstood what a bookclub kit was, it looks as if it would be excellent! And it did spur me on to buy the book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Library Resources for providing me with a copy of this publication! I loved it! The questions were awesome!
Every now and then a book comes along that has mixed reviews. It either really appeals or doesn't. This book has impacted me in so many ways that it is almost difficult to put it into words. I have only just finished a self help book called The Four Agreements when I read this book. At some point in The Midnight Library, not too far in, as I was reading I was thinking of the Four Agreements. I was impacted greatly by the Four Agreements and together with my best friend, whose therapist had asked I read it with her, I saw how they would help the Nora. I could see myself and my friend in her, our low spots, very slow spots and how we had tried lifting ourselves and not until The Four Agreements did we learn how. Once Nora started to like and love herself, and like and love aspects of her life as it had been she could see a future for herself and could live the best life possible. We are not so lucky to have a Midnight Library to help us and we have to see these things for ourselves but to be able to see what was important, what mattered, who was important and who mattered was eye opening for Nora and she had the time to live into the best life possible without regrets of what might have. I found myself soul searching and reliving moments from my past and from my present and how I wanted to see the future to be. I was emotionally and mentally stimulated by this book and it is one that I will not part with and when I need reminding that things could be much worse, I shall pick it up and read parts again. I cannot say who I would recommend this book to because in my mind it is a book with nothing to dislike about it but, like I admitted we can't all like the same things. If you have questions about yourself and how your life could be better and have nothing but regrets maybe this book will give you a little of the insight that you need to reevaluate yourself and your life and hopefully see that things could be worse and that life is truly worth living.
This is the first book club kit I've gotten but I'm hoping to use it for our library book club we're starting up this fall when we can finally have in person programming again.
I'm looking forward to using the discussion questions and being able to tell our club members a little bit more about Matt Haig and his thoughts about the book.
Thank you Netgalley for this book club kit. I think it's going to be very helpful!
I love Matt Haig and I'm pretty much addicted to his work and everything that he says so, it doesn't surprise me that I enjoyed reading midnight library with this at my side. I didn't use it for a book club because I currently just moved and do not have any friends, but I can see it being a great discussion starter for a truly beautiful book. The questions are very thoughtful and not boring like a lot of questions tend to be for book club questions. At least in my opinion. Thank you #netgalley as well as #matthaig for allowing me to experience this book in a very introspective and beautiful way in the exchange for an honest review.
First and foremost, a big thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Library Resources for providing me with a copy of this publication, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.
The book club kit was incredibly insightful and interesting. The addition of the author's interview, as well as the discussions, questions, and answers, was very enlightening.
This book club kit was really helpfull for my reunion today. It guided us through the discussion in a very interesting way.

Love this for a book club on this phenomenal book. Definitely opens up more questions and answers and to see other people’s perspectives. Everything about this was on point
From the first paragraph, I knew this book would be a good one. I immersed myself into the book from the first chapter and I cannot say enough good things about this book! Honestly amazing! The writing is incredible and the plot is just one to die for. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. My favorite part would have to be the character development throughout the book. Character development is something I look forward to and this book did not disappoint.
I thought this was a really great idea for book clubs! It gives really good focusing points for discussions and even includes a nice interview with the author and it is always nice to see what is going on in the mind of the author especially when the book is very popular and well loved.
Enjoyable and useful for book club. I've found since lockdown we need more guidance to help discussion over zoom. Not sure I'd buy it myself but as a ARC it was good.
