This is an excellent tool for a book club reading The Midnight Library. I have found that sometimes book club discussions become stale or get off topic because people don't know where to start in discussing the different plot points. A book club kit like this would greatly assist in this area.

Book Club Kit: The Midnight Library

I misread this request when I turned it in. As a book club leader, this kit is helpful, but I really wanted to read the book. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for ARC.

These are great questions and comments that enhance the reading of The Midnight Library. Sometimes themes and concepts are missed on a first reading or other readers have different opinions about the story and how it relates to them. This added bonus leads to great discussions!

I read this book for not one but two book clubs! This was such a helpful guide. We enjoyed the discussion questions and felt, like the book, they really made you think. The book itself was fabulous!

The Midnight Library has to be my ultimate favorite book now. I loved everything about it especially the writing. Matt Haig gave us beautiful passages describing life and death. I loved our main character Nora and her journey to self discovery. Of course I had to purchase a physical copy for my personal library. I also purchased several copies for my classroom and friends. This book brought joy and especially tears in understanding grief, feelings of anxiety, and depression. The Midnight Library was absolutely beautiful and I would forever treasure all of the amazing passages. Thank you so much Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this amazing book.

The Midnight Library Book Club Kit was a great companion to the novel. Great questions for discussion with a book group or to reflect on independently.

I enjoyed the interview with the author as well.

The book is lovely and this took it to another level.

Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

The Midnight library left me in a state between reality and fiction, where my imagination can go on forever. The Midnight Library was such an interesting read! The idea of the Library was so unique and captivating. I think what made this story so intriguing is that everyone can relate to the main idea in the book. In life, we all want the satisfaction that we have made the right choices and are living out our best life. Seeing how Nora can choose which life she wants to see play out based on different decisions she has made in life, is quite interesting. As human beings we all live with regrets, but the Midnight Library highlights the idea that our "regrets" are mere figments of own perception. What we characterize as a regret can look very different to someone else or looking back at it with a different perception or mindset. After reading this book, I found myself looking at things in a different perspective. This work of fiction made me look at reality different and I think that is incredibly powerful. I give Matt Haig all the praise for this incredible book! The Midnight Library book club kit was very well put together and had some very stimulating questions. This discussion guide was a great way to reflect on ideas and themes woven throughout the story and gives us as readers a chance to reflect on our own life and decisions we have made. I think the discussions from these questions in a book club setting would make for some very interesting and empowering conversations in a variety of depths, from looking back at past decisions either small and relatively non consequential decisions to very deep emotional content. I think this book is a wonderful work of literature and would highly recommend both the novel and the book club kit to any book clubs or groups who want to dive into the depths of interpretation and conversations around these themes.

The questions that are in this Book Club Kit are extremely thought provoking fitting the book itself well. I had hoped that there would have been a bit more but the questions were extremely well done. I appreciated the additional information that was included with questions to the author of how he wrote the book.

I'm planning to include The Midnight Library in a future book club with my co-workers and friends, so I think this will be a very nice and handy booklet for our book club discussion. It seems like an insightful and helpful addition to have. I'm glad it's available for readers to download!

Nora Seed has finally reached her limit in life and can’t handle another thing. She feels all alone in the world and losing her cat and job in the same week puts her over the top. She decides she can’t handle anymore and decides that leaving this life would be the best thing for her. However, things are far from over for Nora and she wakes up in The Midnight Library.

She is met there by her childhood librarian, Mrs Elm, and gets the opportunity to see all the different lives she could have had. She gets to relive all the regrets she has had in
life to see where they would have taken her. She now has to choose if she still wants to leave the world or choose one of these different lives.

I absolutely loved this book! It really had me thinking about all the choices I’ve taken and where they have led me. The author did such a great job at making you feel as if you were part of the journey. It is very thought provoking and must read! I highly recommend! 5 💫’s.

I don’t know my fellow book club members very well. We convened through a mutual friend during lockdown in January this year and, with the exception of the mutual friend, the rest of us have never met each other in real life. So we talk about the books and our reading experience and we don’t get into personal info sharing at all. Perhaps in time we will, but not yet. Anyway, this kit was not the best for us; I think a book club who knew each other well and who would be perfectly happy sharing information about their personal lives and stuff that’s happened to them in the past would love these questions. For those of us who are kind of polite, awkward people who are there to talk about their impressions of the book, many of the questions in this felt a bit awkward.

Excellent book though, The Midnight Library..

This book club kit for The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is well-constructed and attractive. While I an unsure why the publisher chose to offer this as an ARC- and later, I presume, to be published as a separate purchase. However, I believe the questions are relevant and helpful. The author’s perspective in the interview section is interesting as well.

I absolutely LOVED The Midnight Library, so I was excited for the chance to review the Book Club Kit: The Midnight Library. The questions were thought provoking, and would keep discussion moving easily. I also appreciated the interview with the author, as it gave me insight into why and how he wrote the book.

This is really just a 5 page pamphlet with some graphics and questions for discussion, and an interview with the author. It is nice to have when holding a book club but I'm not sure it warranted its own download - it would be better as part of a website for the book.
