Great Book Club Material for the Midnight Library. one of our Book Club favorites!
here was my original review of midnight library:
I really enjoyed this book. It was a perfect blend of substance with total enjoyment. Sometimes I feel the enjoyable books are a bit light, and the deep books take some effort. This was both and it flew by. It had a bit of everything that i like. If i was to utterly simplify this it is like a self help book in novel form. This is because it touches on so many deep psychology and personal realization issues that it is as insightful as many a self help book. However it does this in the umbrella or quite a beautiful novel and some compelling yet deeply hurting and flawed characters. A beautiful realization that our life is what we make of it and how are choices affect our lives.

This was excellent materials and I am very excited to use them with everyone! This was very thought out and overall great quality and I am looking forward to implementing it with more groups.

The Midnight Library Book Club Kit was a really short / straightforward read and I enjoyed seeing the authors answers to the thought-provoking discussion questions. I actually haven't read The Midnight Library yet but hope to read it soon and am more excited after reading this kit. I'd recommend these kits to anyone who wants to spend more time thinking about the story and have a deeper discussion.
Thank you #NetGalley!

This is a good reading kit to accompany the book and complements the reading of the book.
has questions and answers to the author that seem like a very good idea.

I have The Midnight Library but haven't read it yet, so these thought-provoking discussion questions will be great to help me think more deeply about the story. I really love the interview at the end, as well!

I like these book club kits because they truly do make discussing a book easier - both on an individual and group level.
I found myself having mixed feelings with this book. I loved the concept but I wasn't so sure about the execution? This kit helped me find ways to discuss that further with my club!

I didn’t realize this was just a kit I thought the book was included, but with that being said It was a very helpful kit for book club! It helped lead discussions and I wish more books had this option!!

Nice book club kit for delving deeper into Matt Haig's book, The Midnight Library. Full of useful material.

This was a nice book club kit for The Midnight Library, which was an excellent read. The discussion questions were well-designed. I enjoyed hearing more about the author’s inspiration behind The Midnight Library! I would recommend this for any book club or anyone interested in learning more about the author and his creative process. Thank you to Matt Haig, Penguin Random House Library Resources, and Netgalley for a free book club kit in exchange for honest feedback.

This Book Club Kit was the perfect thought provoking way to really experience the story. It allowed me to really think about what I was reading and the how the story impacted my thoughts as well as the thoughts of the author.
Reading the conversations with Matt Haig, allowed me to understand what the story meant to him and how it came about.
Using this book club kit has inspired me to consider setting up the book club I was thinking about at work as I can see how useful these kits are and how they would make for really good discussion points.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this kit!

Yep, I've made the same mistake like many others. I thought this was the actual book. I sadly haven't read it yet and don't own it so this package is not very useful for me.

I thought this was going to be the actual book. Yes, I know it says that it isn't in the description, but apparently I can't read. Still a nice set of questions though, one that I plan on using and consulting once I actually read the book.

These are thoughtful questions to contemplate while reading this book. Great discussion questions for bookclub. Brings alot more depth to our talks. Thank you Netgalley for this advanced copy.

This guide will be awesome to have for a book club discussion! In addition to a reader's guide, it has a conversation with the author Matt Haig! This will be great to have if my book club decides to read The Midnight Library in the future, and I really hope we do!

This was available as a READ NOW on NetGalley. I downloaded it and just found it is the book club discussion questions and NOT the book itself. bummer as I have not read the book....but I did look through the questions and they are quite thorough. I think this would be extremely helpful to book clubs and those who want to discuss the book with others. I will be keeping the discussion questions and looking over them once again once I do in fact read the book.
I received a copy of this from Penguin and NetGalley. I look forward to reading the book and using this guide.

While as a primary teacher, I wouldn’t use this material. I, however, will and would use this material for the book clubs that I run. The questions fit perfectly with the premise, theme, and tone of the novel. The prompted is helpful for rich discussion. There is a lot of curiosity that stems from reading this book. These questions help facilitate that. My recommendation for book club’s is that there are prompting questions throughout the novel rather than at the end. As a good book club will meet throughout the story not just at the end.
Thanks

The book was fantastic and our book club was able to have great discussions based on some of the questions posed here, but I'm not sure why this is getting an official release for just some questions.

I really liked this book club kit. We read this as our February book club read. I loved hearing more about the author and his thought process behind writing this book. It helped me to understand and appreciate the book even more.

These discussion questions were very insightful, and very approachable for all types of readers. A great addition to this title. The conversation with Matt Haig was very interesting!

Pros: I think The Midnight Library would make for a fantastic book club discussion because of its focus on "what if I had made a different decision." I think this is a universal question, and as a book club leader, I'd be interested to hear what my book club friends thought for their own lives. That seemed like an obvious discussion question when I was reading the book, so I was interested to see what questions this kit recommended. I think the best part of this kit is the Q&A with the author. Suicide and suicide attempt are very sensitive and personal subjects, so I think it was important for the author to share his perspective and experiences.
Cons: This was one of the shorter book club kits I've read. Some of the others have had unique things like costume ideas or drink suggestions to add a bit to the kit. (I don't think either of those would be appropriate with this book!) Also, as this book features a suicide attempt, I think a trigger warning and information about where a person can seek help/support would be appropriate.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Library Resources for the opportunity to read this book club kit! I've read several of these kits and enjoy each one and how they uniquely reflect the book.
