This was a great reading guide. I liked learning more about Matt’s reasons as to why he wrote this book and how it’s therapeutic for him.
I loved The Midnight Library and this book club kit is such a nice bonus companion. I love hearing more from the author about what inspired him, and the discussion questions, perfect for book club!
Loved the book and loved the book club kit. Full of insightful questions and ideas to discuss! Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
Just reading The Midnight Library with my zoom book club. This is an amazing resource to prompt discussion in our currently boring world where nobody has anything to talk about. Thank you Matt Haig
I was not very familiar with these kits, but I really liked the organization of the questions and the layout is very well done aesthetically and for easy reference. Great resource for book clubs!
I read The Midnight Library last year and absolutely loved it! This book would be an amazing book club pick and the book club kit will be a great discussion-started with the 8 questions offered for members of various book clubs. The questions guide the reader on how to explore certain themes more in-depth, but also get to know other book club members a bit better by answering the "what-would-you-do" questions.
Since I didn't read this as part of a book club, I mostly enjoyed the author Q&A included in the kit that answered some of the author questions I had and helped me better understand why the author made certain choices for his characters and plot.
I haven't actually read The Midnight Library just yet but I have heard so much about it and I just wanted to see what kinds of themes/topics I should be be aware of when for when I do pick up the book and this kit was very helpful. Plus Q and A's with authors are really exciting insightful.
I didn't realize this was a book club kit - I haven't read the book yet and don't have a book club, so while it's interesting to me, it's not something that will come in super handy just yet.
I received this book from netgalley for an honest review
Omg wow! No wonder everyone keeps talking about it. The world building and characters are flawless.
This is a book club kit and is perfect as my book club is discussing this book this week! There are 8 questions that are designed to prompt discussion based on the book and then a short Q&A with the author to provide more insight as to his writing process and creation of this book.
I enjoyed the author Q&A (for example, he was going to make the main character male?!) and I think the questions provided are great (although I would have loved to seen the author's answers)!
The Midnight Library has been on everyone's to-read lists lately, and has been a pretty popular book club pick. This book club kit includes discussion questions and an interview with the author, Matt Haig.
I hoped that this kit would give me different insight into this book, which I found difficult to talk about. The discussion questions included here are mostly personal or philosophical in nature rather than about the novel itself. I could see this kit working well for a book club with people who are comfortable with each other, but wouldn't necessarily recommend it for groups that don't know each other well enough to be vulnerable.
@Thanks NetGalley for this guide to this great book. It was a wonderful experience.
I give 5 stars to this guide
This is just a comprehensive kit for book clubs. I was under the impression it was the actual book. I’m a little disappointed because I didn’t read the book so I can not use these kit.
When my book club decided to read this title, I had heard nothing specific about it, but everyone was telling me that it was a "must read." This book club kit was a great addition to the evening. The questions are thought provoking and in depth, and they touch on more than the superficial aspects of the book. I really enjoyed the information about the author, as well. I recommend this kit to anyone hosting a conversation about this book.
Great discussion questions to promote thoughtful discussion about the book. I like how there were questions and an author interview.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book club kit. I just reviewed a similar kit for Mexican Gothic, another very popular release. And actually, I just finished The Midnight Library last night, so it's fresh in my mind. I think that these kits are really neat! I particularly like the layouts and inclusions of extras with the questions.
The Book Club Kit is exactly that - a brief guide including great discussion questions and extremely interesting interview with the author. I'm looking forward to using this for our book club!
I mistakenly thought this was the actual book, The Midnight Library. But lucky for me, The Midnight Library is my book club pick for May. The kit contains eight questions, photo printables, and a Q and A for author Matt Haig. The questions will be great discussion topics for the cub.
I can't wait for May to come around so I can start The Midnight Library and put this kit to use!
This kit could also be used to discuss the book in a smaller group or among a few friends who have read the book.
Many thanks to Penguin Random House Library resources, Matt Haig, and Netgalley for an arc of this kit in exchange for an honest review!
I absolutely adored the novel “The Midnight Library”. Five Stars!! But this Book Club Kit is unfortunately lacking.
There are 8 questions in the Kit and a small Q&A with the author Matt Haig. The interview with Haig was good and actually brought up some ideas for good discussions at a book club. The questions for the book club were all too personal. “What do you think your?... Your life?... You feel?... Do we learn?... About our lives?” These are not questions I would ask at any of my book clubs. Maybe if I wanted to discuss this with a close friend?
There were no questions in this Kit that I see would bring about good discussion regarding the writing, the characters, the plot... you get the idea.
It doesn’t hurt to have this, but thinking up your own questions and looking around the internet are going to get you a lot further.
Thanks Penguin Random House Library Resources and NetGalley for an ARC copy of this kit in exchange for my honest review.

Short but engaging book club guide. Only one page of discussion questions (although they were good) and three pages of an author interview; I would have liked to have seen more discussion content. But it was interesting enough that it got me to buy the book, however, so I think it did its job!
