Such a great guide whether for personal or group reading to help process what you learned from Caste! I loved Caste and this helped me dive even further deeper into the text.

The book club kit for Caste by Isabel Wilderson includes 25 excellent discussion questions. A perfect guide to lead any book club into a deep discussion the book.

This was a fantastic guide to help facilitate a group discussion for a book chat group. I would be interested in using this for a future book club setting as well. Thank you for the thought provoking questions to dig into this material. I would be interested in more of these.

This kit only includes discussion questions, but there are many and some are very in depth. This might be a good starting point for book clubs, but would probably be a better guide for professors/teachers to use.

Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson was one of the two best nonfiction books I read in 2020. (The other being No My Name by Chanel Miller.) In fact, I gifted it to several people over the holidays.

This brief two-page Discussion Guide contains 25 questions. Many of them seem more suited to a university classroom setting than a book club, but that is apropos given the subject of the book. A book club wouldn't (and shouldn't!) select a title like this unless they're prepared to have tough conversations.

Sample questions:
#5 - Caste and race are not the same thing. What is the difference between the two? How do casteism and racism support each other?
#7 - Who does the caste system benefit? Who does it harm?
#22 - How does the caste system take people who would otherwise be allies and turn them against one another?
#25 - What are some of the steps that society, and each of us, can take toward dismantling the caste system?

Very thought provoking! All-in-all, these are very serious questions about a very serious book on a very serious topic.

Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the book club kit. Will have to read the book then follow up with the kit.
