Such A Fun Age is an important read for everyone. I appreciate that Kiley Reid doesn't shy away from topics that make people uncomfortable, & this book club guide can help groups navigate through taking about the systematic racism that permeates society.
Ocala Book Club has this book on it's list for a future read. As the owner/moderator of Ocala Book Club, I downloaded this book club kit to see if it would be an interesting addition to the book club meeting. Discussion questions and an interview with the author are in the kit. This will be a handy addition to the meeting.
Thanks NetGalley for an arc of this book club kit.
The book was fantastic and the book club kit offered wonderful guidance to walk our book club through all the topics!! It also helped us analyze those topics closer. Very helpful guide.
As someone who has tried and failed to create or be apart of MANY book clubs, I absolutely love this kit! This book is one of my top books on my TBR along with a few friends, after showing this to them we have decided to read and discuss together and use this kit to guide us! And all the extra goodies are so cool!
My favorite part is the Color the cover page!
Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid was one of my favorite reads of 2021, and this book club kit just gives me more love for the book. It includes discussion questions sure to enhance any book club discussion, two character-themed cocktails, an author interview, and even a cover to color in! I wish every book I purchased had such an add-on.
Another great book club guide! This book itself begged a lot of thought-provoking questions, but I liked how the guide took it a step deeper and also opened the floor for greater discussion in a group. Super fun additions with the coloring page and cocktails - it would be so much fun to have those made up to serve to the group! Really helpful guide, just docking one point because I originally downloaded on Kindle and it did NOT convert well - stick with a PDF.
I ended up reading this book shortly after getting approved for the book club kit for NetGalley. I did not use this during an actual book club but the discussion questions were interesting.
This is an amazing book and for me, felt like a coming of age unlike any other. I bought this book for friends I know will enjoy it as equally as I did!
I am grateful for this guide to lead discussion in my own book club as it is our February Black History Month pick this year! I have read Such a Fun Age previously and will be re-reading it with this guide in mind prior to our discussion. I am also a huge fan of annotating my books and this will be a great guide to keep in mind as well as I reread. I hope my members will appreciate a thorough guide to our meeting as well!
I thoroughly enjoyed Such A Fun Age when it came out. There's a lot of thought-provoking topics for discussion and the questions in the guide help get to a thoughtful discussion. I liked getting to know more about Kiley Reid and her path to becoming a writer. The character-themed cocktails and coloring page were very fun touches!
I requested this book, thinking the actual book would be included in the kit. It is not - it is purely a kit to discuss the contents of the book, with some extras in it.
The kit includes a conversation with the author, and in-depth discussion questions (which I think are great).
I love the 'character-themed cocktails' bit, such an original way to bring your love for a book to the next level!
I am obsessed with book club kits. It is such a fun and helpful way to host a book club meeting. The Design is very nice and the content is everything you need to host or to contribute to the book discussions.
This kit includes Character-Themed cocktails. Who doesn't like a good cocktail? While you are sipping on the cocktail you can utilize the provided discussion questions to drive the conversation about the book. If you are more interested in the Author you will also have a great opportunity to share the conversation with Kiley Reid. As if this is not enough you also have a page where you can color the cover. I am in love... go and grab it and have fun during your book club meeting! Hosting a book club meeting made easy and fun!
This was a great resource for my college bookclub that I help to run. It allowed us to have even more meaningful discussions examining privilege, white-supremacy, performative activism, cancel culture, and many other important topics that should be discussed at a. much more prevalent level. The novel was amazing on its own, but I found that this book club kit really developed the story and made the novel more accessible to those that hadn't read something like it before.
The author does a great job addressing a very relevant sensitive topic. Her writing style captures your attention from page one and keeps you hooked until the end. As a reader, you form an understanding of the main characters and their feelings throughout the story.
I must admit I thought this was a copy of Such a Fun Age but so that’s my fault for not reading the description. However, I thought it was a good kit for a book club and has great points of discussions. I especially loved the blank book cover you can use to color.
An author I admire said that SUCH A FUN AGE had a really great opening chapter, and I read got the book to read for that purpose. OMG! This book was an intense page-turner from the very first page. Holy moly! Highly recommend!
Such a fun age by Kiley Reid was an honest exploration of society, child rearing and women relationships. Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for the review copy. All opinions are my own.
This was my first book to read by this author but I hope to read more soon! The characters and the story stay with you long after you finish it. Good, fast read. Highly recommend!!
I was so happy to have a chance to read Such a Fun Age, it was a book that must be read to be understood. This book deals with racism, parental responsibility, performative activism, and finding a sustainable job and feeling lost in your mid-twenties. I really liked Reid's writing voice; it was easy to be absorbed. I loved the characters and their relationship dynamics, the big revelations and the story’s direction after everything is getting out of control. It was such an entertaining and enjoyable read. Though it started good, but I didn’t like how the things ended for the characters. I highly recommend it.
