What an interesting book! Father Figure examines the role of the father today as it is: nuanced, caring, and deserving of recognition when the intent is good. Shapiro presents a thoughtful examination of what it means to be a positive presence in the life of children as a father, and the negative impacts the patriarchy can have on dads' abilities to parent the way they want to. I thought this was timely and an interesting read.
