Don’t Trust Her by Elizabeth Boles is full of suspense and twists that keeps readers guessing from start to finish. The story centres around Court, a woman with a seemingly perfect life—devoted to her family and friends, but haunted by a secret from her past. When Court and her childhood friends Faith and Blanche are invited to a weekend getaway at a remote mountain cabin by their wealthy new friend Paige, the stage is set for tension and betrayal.

The trip quickly takes a sinister turn when Paige forces them to play a confession game, unearthing secrets none of them wanted to reveal. As an ice storm traps them at the cabin one of the friends is found dead. The novel switches between the past and present, skillfully showing the bond between Court and her friends as teenagers, and the shocking secret that ties them together.

Boles expertly weaves a tense atmosphere, making the isolation of the cabin feel claustrophobic as secrets unravel and paranoia sets in. The twists and turns kept me hooked, especially as Court tries to figure out who is blackmailing her, and whether her closest friends are truly who they seem. The story plays with the idea of how well we really know the people we trust, and the lengths people will go to protect their secrets.

The pacing is perfect, and the dual timelines add depth to the characters' motivations. Don’t Trust Her is packed with secrets, betrayal, and a chilling atmosphere that had me questioning who to trust.

Don't Trust Her is an amazing thriller with plenty of twists and turns. All the characters were incredibly well-written, and I liked that the story went back and forth between the past and the present. I had a hard time putting this one down because I really wanted to know everyone's secrets and find out how everything would turn out. The ending was great, and I didn't see it coming at all. Thanks to NetGalley and Ladybugbooks LLC for giving me the opportunity to read and review Don't Trust Her...I'm looking forward to reading more of Elizabeth Boles' work in the future. : )

Court and Tal live in Huntsville, Alabama along with their children Jonas and Haley Ray. Court’s twin sister, Brittany, died years ago in a car crash that also killed her father and injured her mother. Today, Court does all she can to care for her mother and sees that she has groceries and eats properly.

Court, Faith, and Blanche have been friends since they were small. Their new friend, Paige, has invited them to spend a weekend in her cabin for the weekend to celebrate Paige’s 35th birthday. Paige is quite wealthy and the cabin is magnificent, but remote.

Their first night after enjoying a lovely dinner, Paige insists that they play a game she has brought. It makes them uncomfortable because it’s like a confession game and each of them is being secretly blackmailed. When an ice storm hits, they find themselves stranded, but Paige assures them that the generator will provide the electricity they need. The next morning, one of them is dead. Was it accidental or murder?

The story switches back and forth from the time Court, Brittany, Faith, and Blanche were all in high school together to the present day. They soon learn that some actions have consequences.

There are a lot of twists and turns in this story and makes one think how you really define a friend. It had me turning pages and looking over my shoulder. Enjoy, readers!

After Court gives in to her blackmailer's demand of money in exchange for keeping her secret, she begins to filter through the people in her life who could possibly know. Getting ready for a trip with her best friends has Court on edge, especially since she suspects it is one of them. But when an unexpected snowstorm leaves them stranded and secrets are revealed, Court realizes that she doesn't really know her friends at all. And what happens when her big secret is finally revealed?

I thought this was a great read and it was hard to put down. Told between past and present, the story shows the friendship between the girls as teens, and the secret that ties them all together. This book has a lot of twists and surprises and it shows you how far people will go to keep their secret hidden.

Thank you Netgalley and Ladybug Books LLC for the opportunity to read this book.

Deadly Secrets

Court has a good life, a healthy little boy Jonah and a loving husband Tah. Life is good for Court.

Paige one of Court's friends has invited Court, Faith and Blanche for a weekend girls' getaway at her mountain cabin. Sounds like a fun time for all. That is before an ice storm hits and they are stranded with no phone and no internet.

Secrets start coming out and it becomes very tense in the cabin. When one of them turns up dead it looks suspicious. The other three try to leave but just end up wrecking the car. They are stuck with each other until the ice melts, however one of them may be a murderer.

Was the death really a murder? Will the other three make it out alive, and if they do will one confess to the murder?

This was a thriller filled with secrets and action. It was a good read and I would recommend it.

Thanks to Elizabeth Boles, Ladybugbooks L.L.C., and Netgalley for allowing me to read a copy of the book for my honest review.

Synopsis: Court Lane has worked so hard to create the life she has now and just when it seems safe, the blackmail letter shows up reading “I know what you’ve done.” The instructions are clear “pay up or I’ll expose you for who you really are.” While she’s still haunted by the letter, a girl’s trip offers her the perfect distraction. She and her three closest friends head up to the mountains to celebrate a birthday party for one of her friends. The fun doesn’t last long; with no cell service, the power being cut by a snowstorm, and then one friend never waking up, secrets start coming out and the girls are lying and confessing like crazy. But what you really need to find out is who’s telling the truth and who’s lying? After all, best friends can be killer.

My thoughts: Okay so to be honest; I absolutely LOVED this book. It was filled with twists and turns that will leave you guessing until the very end. While I did figure a couple of small things out, it almost didn’t even count because the big shock at the end of the book was (dare I say it?), KILLER.

Don't trust her is a mystery that actually began when twins Court and Brittany friends Blanche and Faith were in high school have kept a secret. Now to the present Paige is having a girl's weekend for her birthday and invites the friends. But what the remaining friends don't know is there will be a lot of secrets being exposed, as well as threats and accusations. There will also be several huge twists before the truths are finally revealed.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters were believable. This was a story that held my interest until the very end.

Another one of those "I can't put it down till I finish it books", although I must say i had this figured out from the beginning for the most part.
Lots of twists and turns that I didn't see coming.
The lesson here is you never know what someone is capable of. Definitely a worthwhile read!!!

A fair to middling tale of the aftermath of teenage revenge gone wrong. Solid three.

This belongs on lifetime. Such a predicable story. Like I called the big twist at 14% that’s how predictable it is. Easy read, nothing shocking. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

Court Lane, a wife and mother of two, goes on a girls weekend trip with her friends to a cabin in the mountains. This weekend is filled with secrets, lies and blame.

I liked this book cause all the secrets had me turning the pages til the very end. This book is full of twists and turns. It has short chapters and was easy to read. The characters were very likable. I like Ms. Boyles style of writing, I hope she writes more books like this.

I enjoyed this book fully and I think anyone who reads this will too. 5stars, i highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense.

Court is a woman living the 'mom-life' dream in Alabama. Her life is a series of drop offs and pick ups, spin classes, and errands. But one day, after taking her mom to a gravesite visit on the anniversary of the family's tragic car accident, Court receives a letter beginning with "I know what you've done..."
Perhaps a girls weekend is just what she needs to get away from the secrets and stress. But at the mountain cabin nothing goes as planned and after a freak ice storm the 4 best friends are trapped. Can anyone be trusted?
A face paced thriller speckled with wry observations of the lengths women will go to hide ugly truths , this book reminds us that no matter how polished the surface, even lifelong friendships have deep cracks. It is perfect to curl up with in front of the fireplace on a cold night.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
