Very weird and complex story. You think it's straight forward but it's not. Plenty of surprises and twists.

5 star read- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- This follows Couple Sarah and Steve, whom are 3 year old Ollie's Parents... Steve has recently split and he has moved in with his new girlfriend Laura. Sarah is not comfortable with Laura she feels uneasy. She knew something wasn't right from the very very start. She told steve but he just told her that she is jealous and he brushed it off as nothing. She was only doing this due to her mother instincts and only want what is best for her child and for the safety of their child! But no one is listening to her. Lots of secrets from the past! truths to be told!

Such a gripping, thrilling, enthralling ride of emotions! so good recommend highly!

WOW! What a cracker! I thought I had it figured out but nope. Far from it.

Laura, who is Sarah's ex's new live-in girlfriend came with enough baggage to sink a battleship. She starts out 'normal' but as time goes on, she starts to get 'weird'. But that's not all...

I love Sheryl Browne's psychological thrillers and this one is even better than the others I've read. Twists and turns and all the things that make for an excellent, gripping read.

Can't wait for her next one!

Sarah and Steve have split up they have a son Ollie whose three years old.
They are both in new relationships.
Sarah is unsure about Steve’s new partner there is something not right with her.
But nobody else can see it he problem.
Is it just Sarah being over protective or is she right to be worried.
Good read.
Thanks NetGalley

This is a slow burning domestic thriller exploring the feelings, anxieties and jealousies of parents when the family unit breaks down and co parenting begins with new family dynamics. It has an easy reading writing style.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. Another great domestic thriller from Sheryl Browne. Ollie's mum Sarah is concerned that his stepmum Laura is trying to replace her in his life. She replicates his bedroom in her house with his one at home....she tells Ollie secrets he mustn't tell his mum. Is Sarah paranoid or is Laura determined to replace her in Ollie's life?...the feeling of something sinister brewing throughout the book was palpable and the twists along the way are part of Sheryl Brownes writing style that her fans love. #sherylbrowne #myhusbandsgirlfriend #tea_sipping_bookworm #amazonkindle #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #bookouture#bookqueen #bookstagram #thriller

Rating - 3/5

'Appearances can be deceptive.' And this is exactly what My Husband's girlfriend by Sheryl Browne is a all about. A standalone psychological thriller with a catch line in the book cover' She thought her child was in safe hands but she was wrong' and guess what - the deception starts from there itself !! This is one book that is definitely worth a short. To start with, I am absolutely glad that the book title was changed from whisper to My husband's girlfriend as the latter seems all the more relatable to the story in hand.

Divorced couple Sarah and Steve co - parent their 3 year old son Ollie. Both Sarah and Steve have moved on with their relationship. Things are manageable as Sarah spends time with Joe her ex and an officer who too is divorcee, however things start to complicate when Sarah has to take her son to spend time with Steve and his girlfriend Laura. All motherly instincts flare up in Sarah upon meeting Laura for the first time; which only increased further, the more she came to know about her and her family. To the world, Laura appears the perfect stepmother looking to build a beautiful relationship with Ollie but with Sarah that is so not the case. Things escalate to a point when Ollie goes missing and how Sarah attempts to find her child back in a race against time.

The story was a complete roller coaster which practically builds up momentum till the end of the book. It was impossible to even gauge the gender of the culprit till the very end of the story. However there are a few points that need to be mentioned here. Chapter one just kept you hooked to the book but after that it was a slow drag of daily mundane events that was just building up the momentum which at times made me loose interest in the story. There were a couple of incidents that got you hooked but the fire simply dies soon enough. There were points in the story which actually made me wonder what is the mystery or thriller event in the story - an indicator of how slow paced it was. Secondly the narrative was from multi perspective angle which was going back and forth that at times you do get lost a bit. There were certain loopholes or rather questions that were left unsolved in the story even after the end. The story generates a chaotic perspective with so many details that wasn't so essential. For all these reasons I have rated the book as 3 stars.

Rest apart, it was truly a psychological thriller indeed that really made you wonder how things can spiral out of control for people at the wink of an eye. And that you never know who walks among us with a mask while harboring psychotic and cruel tendencies in mind. Profane language usage is moderate while there are descriptive instances of sex and romance in the story. The language is quite simple to read and understand which is why this book is perfect for all readers aged 15+.

Rest assured the book is a fabulous read.

My Husband’s Girlfriend by Sheryl Browne started off a little slow for me. When I read psychological thrillers, I expect them to be fast. But once I was 1/3 of the way in, I was hooked. There’s the perfect amount of mystery & family drama with characters that I found fascinating. I can’t wait to read more books by this author!

My Husband's Girlfriend
by Sheryl Browne
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Description :
She told my little boy a secret and now he’s gone…Tucking her little boy Ollie into bed one night, Sarah notices his beloved teddy bear, which she bought him when he was born, is missing and in its place is a new toy given to him by her ex-husband’s new girlfriend, Laura. When she asks Ollie about it, he begins to shift uncomfortably, before whispering ‘Laura told me a big secret and she said I can never tell you’ .Sarah’s heart sinks. But when she raises her concerns, nobody wants to listen. To everyone else, Laura is the perfect stepmother and Sarah is just the jealous ex-wife. But Sarah knew the moment she met Laura she couldn’t trust her, from her overly perfect stepmother act to the way she evaded questions about her own history. Soon Ollie is asking to spend more time with his dad and Laura, and shrinking away from Sarah. Then, when she calls to him in the garden one day, Ollie doesn’t answer back. The garden is silent. Ollie’s sandpit is empty. Ollie has disappeared.

📌 MY REVIEW 📌
This is a story full of suspense and twists. It moved at a slower pace than i usually like and i almost gave up. However i am so glad i didn't. Told from several points of view
My Husband's Girlfriend was both gripping and engrossing . Packed with many unexpected twists you will find yourself quickly turning the pages. All of the characters were well-developed .This author really knows how to bring her characters to life & draw her readers completely into the story with her
masterful writing, intriguing situations and captivating characters. I was back and forth with Laura
from the very start. At times Sarah with her double standards got on my nerves. Many parts of this book caught me by surprise and trust me that does not happen very often.
The ending was totally mind blowing and left me in total shock ! I would recommend this book to all mystery and thriller lovers.

This was a head flinging read. So many twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. A really good read which deserves the genre psychological thriller.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. I literally couldn’t put this book down and finished in one reading. What would you do if you found out your husbands girlfriend had a horrible secret. Would you trust her to watch your child? Would anyone believe you? I literally couldn’t put this down until I found out the truth. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sarah and Steve have split up, and while in new relationships, they share the care of their 3-year-old son Ollie.
When the time comes for Ollie to meet Laura, his dad's new girlfriend, Sarah understandably is concerned. At first, Laura seems trustworthy, but the more Sarah finds out about her, the less she trusts her.
Are Sarah's suspicions unfounded or is Laura not the perfect stepmother she wants everyone to believe she is?

This was a good, gripping, and fast-paced read that had me guessing all through till the end.
I found, however, that some issues were left unresolved, and the story was at times a little far-fetched.
I think I would have preferred if the story followed Sarah and Laura only, as it did at the beginning. As it was, I found that there were too many points of view, and that made the story a bit chaotic.
Overall though, it was an enjoyable read that will keep you entertained, so go ahead and check it out.

Sarah and Steve are devoted paretns to three year old Ollie but sadly their own relationship has broken down and both of them have found love again. Steve moves in with his girlfriend Laura and she is keen to begin weekend visits with Ollie. But Sarah isn't convinced that Laura can be trusted: is she right to be suspicious even though everyone tells her she is paranoid?
My Husband's Girlfriend had alarm bells ringing from the very first page. There was a realism to the careful negotiations between a couple who are no longer together but must get on with their own new lives, yet are still connected by a child. Both parents want the best for their son but also want acceptance for their new partners: tricky situation that many people will empathise with!
As a mum, I can completely understand how difficult it is to leave your child with others. Laura's actions seem suspicious because she is trying so hard and always has a ready explanation for the incidents that concern Sarah. Added to this is Laura's relationship with her overbearing mother, sleepwalking and stammer which make her appear vulnerable to Steve but Sarah sees them as worrisome.
My feelings towards Sarah are very mixed. I understand her natural protectiveness towards her son but she has double standards. She insists on meeting Laura before allowing Steve to introduce her to Ollie, but fails to offer Steve the same courtesy of meeting her new lover Joe.
The book is written from various perspectives but not in the first person. The pace is reasonably slow to begin with as various incidents ramp up the animosity between Sarah and Laura/Steve. There is a big twist which links to the title and I did guess but it did not spoil my enjoyment of the book. There were extra plot twists as all is revealed at the end and I didn't see those coming :)
My Husband's Girlfriend was hugely melodramatic and fabulously entertaining.

My Husband's Girlfriend (formerly The Whisper) is a tense psychological thriller that approximates real life choices we have to make when our instinct kicks in. I love how the author has the main character, Sarah, flipping between trusting her husband's girlfriend, then feeling sorry for her. Is Laura just a good actor, or just so traumatized by her past that nothing she says is the whole truth? Likewise, Sarah's boyfriend Joe, and ex, Steve distrust Laura's feelings putting them down to jealousy, but then believing her as evidence against Laura mounts. I love how we can vibrantly we see the wide-eyed innocence of Ollie, the little boy at the center of all the drama, making me nostalgic for when my boys were little. I wish the story would have moved a little quicker, because I felt like I was always on edge. But after all, that's the goal of a suspense novel, so well done Sheryl Browne!

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance reader's copy for review.

We have all been in the position where you have a bad feeling about someone but no one else seems to see it. Sarah has this exact feeling towards her husband's new girlfriend, Laura. Laura begins to love Sarah's son, Ollie, a little too much, too quickly. Sarah follows her motherly instinct and knows that Laura has something to hide, but in her persistence, makes herself out to be paranoid and overbearing. Which one is it? This book had me changing my mind frequently and guessing right until the end. I found that character of Sarah easy to relate to, which helped to draw me into the plot further and want to continue reading.

Oh my goodness, this is a total rollercoaster ride of a book! I absolutely could not put it down, I just had to know how it was going to end.

I liked Sarah, and her relationship with Steve, her ex, seems to be pretty good, so when her instincts tell her that Laura is not quite as she seems, I believed her. There’s certainly quite a few red flags where Laura’s behaviour is concerned, and it didn’t seem that Sarah was being jealous or over-protective.

Laura is a difficult one to get to know, and I didn’t know whether she could be trusted. The story is told from several points of view, which makes it all the more intriguing, but still won’t give away the ending.

This book is so cleverly plotted, with so many twists and turns. It will keep you guessing right until the end. When I read books like these, I always have a few hypothesis in my mind as to what will happen, who is responsible etc., but trust me, you will not second guess this book, there are so many strands to the plot and it all comes to a head near the end.

Be aware that you will need to cancel everything to finish this book. Once I got into the last few chapters I was totally riveted and the house could have fallen down around me and I still would have been trying desperately to read the last few pages!

Each time I read one of Sheryl Browne’s books I think that this is the best one yet, but she continues to astound me with her brilliance with each new book. This really is the best one yet, until the next one!

Totally gripping and engrossing, a superb read. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’ve loved Sheryl's books in the past and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. There are so many twists from the beginning that I had no idea how it would work out. And what an ending. Very well done and another hit for author Sheryl Browne!
