The Chase by Lisa Harris is an intense, clean romantic suspense book. The protagonists, Madison and Jonas, are with the U. S. Marshals. They are well paired, very real and believable as they work together to solve crime. This story is extremely well written and well balanced. Lisa Harris has blended together suspense, romance, hope and faith perfectly. There are some unexpected twists that will keep the reader wanting to continue reading. The Chase is fast paced and hard to put down. I highly recommend this book.

Madison is ready to return to work and Jonas has a new case for them. After serving a warrant and not finding much information, they are called to a bank robbery in progress. After some time there, they start a chase after the robbers, losing them in the process. The story takes us through their search and leads in the case as well as Madison and Jonas still dealing with hurts and self blame from the past (which we learned in the first book). Page turning story set solely in Washington State. We see Danielle, Mr Michaels and Madison’s Dad again, as well as some new secondary characters.

A wonderful second installment in the US Marshals series! While the story in this novel could definitely stand alone, I would still recommend reading book 1 prior to reading this one in order to get the character depth and relationships, as those are better defined throughout the series. However, if you read just this one, I don't believe you'll be too lost. This book picks up where book 1 left off. Madison James is returning to work, re-joining with her partner Jonas Quinn. They're investigating a series of robberies and the fugitives seem to be prepared for anything and continue to stay 1 step ahead of the Marshals and other law enforcement. When lives are lost and things get personal, even more is at stake. Will they be able to catch up with the robbers before it's too late? This one was filled with intense action and suspense. The relationship between Madison and Jonas is complicated and that carries on from book 1. There is also the unsolved mystery of who killed Madison's husband five years ago, and why. We get some more answers on that as well (and now I'm really anxious for book 3!). There was a subtle faith thread that got stronger towards the end of the book, but was still a very clean read throughout. I enjoyed the character and relational development, the mystery and suspenseful story-line and how the author wove in things from both Madison's and Jonas's pasts to help them to gain closure. All in all, this is a romantic suspense novel (and series) that I would strongly recommend!

Special thanks to the author and publisher for an advance copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

The title of this book is a hint to the non-stop chase that takes place to apprehend four thrill seeking bank robbers. Deputy U.S. Marshal Madison James is returning to work following her three-month recovery from a gunshot wound. On their way to work, she and her partner Deputy U. S. Marshal Jonas Quinn are called to the scene of bank robbery in progress. The robbers have been lucky and successful so far, but this time a security guard has been shot. When the robbers escape, Jonas and Madison conduct a methodical search as they slowly track them down. Madison continues her investigation into the murder of her husband who was killed five years ago. Will a possible lead have her questioning whether she was the target and not her husband? How will she deal with the personal feelings that Jonas has expressed for her…can she open her heart to love again? A very well-crafted mystery with strong and well-rounded characters. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

This is the second book in the US Marshal’s Series by Lisa Harris. First let me advise you to start this series from the beginning, with the first book The Escape. Otherwise you will not know about so many of the things that have happened to the partners Jonas Quinn and Madison James.
This book is full of action and suspense that will literally keep you on the edge of your seat and turning pages from the very first. There is also a thread of romance that could happen between the two if they can ever get over what has happened in their past. As they chase the criminals that always seem to be one step ahead of them they have to work hard to have one another’s backs to stay alive. Lisa Harris has done a masterful job of depicting the US Marshal’s Service and it’s role in catching fugitives while writing a novel that will make your heart beat a little faster. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing by way of Net Galley without any expectation for a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Lisa Harris has written a faith-based novel that follows two US Marshals who are trying to track down four bank robbers that have “hit a least a dozen banks” in the Seattle area. though a motive is difficult to track down, the robberies are well-planned and with solid escape plans in place.

Whereas the first book in this series, The Escape, covered a half dozen states as the duo tracked down escaped criminals; this book focuses on Seattle and the surrounding area. The setting is gorgeous, giving this reader more reasons for vacationing in the area - maybe without the crime.

The book focuses on two themes as the Marshals do their work - loss (with its accompanying grief) and the need many feel to fix the people around them. These are important issues. Much of the book takes place as conversation (too much conversation?) between the two main characters as they evaluate how they have personally dealt with these issues. Though I would not expect a fictional book to provide answers to these kinds of problems, it would have been helpful to suggest places (as an epilog?) where those struggling with these issues could reach out for support. I give the book 3-½ to 4 stars.

This is a fast-paced, non-stop thrill ride from beginning to end! The second book in the U.S. Marshals series, this book was a compelling read that I absolutely raced through because I just had to know what was going to happen. U.S. Marshals Jonas Quinn and Madison James are dealing with their own demons from the past, each blaming themselves for the harm done to those close to them. Madison is struggling to lay to rest the ghost of her dead husband Luke while still determined to find out who killed him. Jonas has a good friend in Felicia but can’t help feeling guilty about the wound that left her with a prosthetic. Even while facing their pasts, these two are called in on a new case to find the bank robbers who seem to have everything planned out, including an escape plan. I could not have thought of a better title for this book! The Marshals are chasing the fugitives and an elusive peace in their own lives and the fugitives are chasing the thrill of robbing banks. The setting was absolutely “stunning” (to use Jonas’s word) and described in such intricate detail that I could place myself there, on an island or on a hill overlooking Seattle. The characters are realistic, with human weaknesses portrayed alongside of their strengths that make them seem vulnerable, just as all of us are. The overwhelming grief that Jonas and Madison confront was heart-wrenching and so well depicted. There was no love lost between me and the fugitives because I just wanted them captured before they shot someone else. With a plot that raced down the tracks like a runaway train, this book was hands-down one of the best romantic suspense books that I have ever read. It has everything to captivate and enthrall: heroes, villains, family relationships, danger at every turn and a promise of hope. I loved reading it and I’m already wanting more of the story of these two U.S. Marshals! It can definitely be read as a standalone, but I don’t know why anyone would want to miss out on any part of the tale of Jonas and Madison, edgy fiction with a clock ticking and a race against time.

The Chase explosively begins a few months after The Escape with Madison James and Jonas Quinn and a brand new, twisted case. That would be normal procedure, except for their past baggage intruding into the entire situation for them both. Readers will be invested and immersed in the storyline while Lisa Harris expertly weaves grief and loss, fear and faith with hope into the suspenseful and dangerous chase of four serial, armed bank robbers. The plot is tangled and leaves lives unraveled while Madison and Jonas attempt to quell personal issues of their own. Stay tuned for the set-up at the end for the trilogy finale. It will also be a must-read.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

This is another fantastic suspense book from Lisa Harris. The first thing I will say is that it is part of a series, and cannot be read as a standalone. I will also let you know that although there is romance in this book, it is not the focus, so if you are wanting a book focussing on the romance this isn’t it. Despite all of that, I still really enjoyed this book. The motivation the bad guys had was such a unique motivation, I haven’t seen before. There were so many great and realistic twists and turns.

I also really enjoy the continuing storyline that runs through both The Escape and The Chase. I am defintely looking forward to hearing how the story ends. At the end of the ARC copy I have, there is a preview to another book, but there were no details on the name or anything else. Hopefully, it isn’t too long until it releases.

"The Chase" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. This is the second book in a series and continues the story of US Marshals Madison and Jonas, but it can be read as a standalone. You can understand what's going on without reading the first book (though a little more recap about Jonas and his ex-girlfriend might've been helpful), and this book didn't spoil the events in the first book.

The problems that I had with the first book in this series were not present in this one. The main characters reacted realistically to events. Madison dealt with the uncertainty of who shot her and the feeling of insecurity that created. Jonas dealt with grief over suddenly losing someone he cared about. Both stayed focused and professional in pursuing the fugitives, but these issues kept weighing on them. They steadily followed up on the clues to identify and capture the four fugitives. The suspense came from the need to capture the fugitives before they completely escaped the country and from the danger to themselves and others.

Madison and Jonas worked well together and trusted the other's skills and instincts. They built each other up and supported each other. Jonas finally acknowledged his love for Madison but she struggled with starting a new relationship while her husband's cold case murder was still unsolved. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I recommend this exciting suspense novel.

The Chase is a modern-day crime thriller written by Lisa Harris. It is book two in the U.S. Marshal series. You could skip book one, but I would recommend reading the first one before the second.

Summary: U.S. Marshal Madison James is finally back to work after a near-fatal shooting, and she’s ready to prove she still has what it takes to do her job-and do it well.

Soon she and her partner Jonas Quinn are in hot pursuit of a band of bank robbers. As the heists become more and more dangerous, will the marshals be able to stop these criminals before someone ends up dead?

My Thoughts: I liked this book. It is a non-stop action-packed novel that keeps going until the very end. I really like the characters in this series, and have been enjoying not only the plot lines in these books, but the underlining mystery of who is really out to get Madison.

This is a fun and exciting book, and would be great for anyone who enjoys action/suspense novels. I definitely recommend it.

I would like to thank Revell for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

It was okay. I had to go back and find the first book to really understand what was really going on. Apparently this is a three part series. They can be read as standalones but it helps to read them in order. I never really connected with the characters but there's a lot of action. If you haven't read the first book, start there.

A good continuation of the first book but a other cliffhanger of sorts.

The aisle part of this book is solid. The cases are interesting and "The Chase" is quite a trip all over the place. However, I'm not sure this book really classifies as a romance. Maybe the series as a whole will have a happily ever after, but the first two books have just had cliffhangers.

After 2 books I still haven't really fallen in love with any of the characters. The procedural parts are good and keep you turning the pages though.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This book is currently my favorite from author Lisa Harris. The interaction between US Marshals Madison and Jonas is just right, and the setting—beautiful Washington state—was just perfect. Five stars. Highly recommended.

This was a gripping story and Lisa Harris is an incredible writer! I love books written from s Christian perspective that is not only not preachy, but realistic. I held my breath through a lot of this book while waiting to see if Jonas and Madison could identify and find the fugitives from a bank robbery gone very wrong, while also trying to figure out who was trying to kill Madison and why. I can’t wait to read her next book!!

The Chase picks up after book one, as Madison returns to work after the shooting. Her and her partner, Jonas, find themselves tracking down a group of deadly fugitives. Lots of action and suspense as the leads take them to old relationships and resurrect unresolved struggles from the past.

I enjoyed the suspense of the story and the character development of both Madison and Jonas, leaving me eager for book three, but the entrance of a past relationship happened really unnaturally, which dropped my rating down to a three.

I loved this second installment in the U.S. Marshalls series. It was full of action and suspense. There was a great pace to the book. It slowed down a little at the end, but it set up the next book nicely.

I enjoy it when the two main characters carry over from book to book in a series. You get to know them a lot better. Madison and Jonas are both wonderful, caring people. Madison has a few issues as she seeks to find out who murdered her husband and Jonas is a great partner as she does that.

I thought the villains were intriguing. Even though they're robbing banks, money doesn't seem the focus for them. They like the challenge and want to see if their well laid plans will indeed cover all the possibilities. It was interesting.

Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I'd highly recommend it. All opinions are my own.

The Chase by Lisa Harris is a great read! This is the second in her US Marshalls series. The first book introduces US Marshall Jonas Quinn and US Marshall Madison James as partners. That book ended with a cliffhanger that picks up in this book. Although it is the second in a series, this book easily stands alone.

In The Chase, Quinn and James are sent to serve a warrant which ends up being connected to a series of robberies they are involved in investigating. And the chase begins!

This is a fast-paced, intense book full of lots of twists and turns and surprises. Harris keeps you on the edge of your seat as Quinn and James chase their suspects all over Seattle. This one really is hard to put down!

I’m a big mystery fan and this one fills the bill. A good mystery with a little bit of romance thrown in - a great combination. Once again, Harris has left us with a cliffhanger at the end. I’m looking forward do the next one in the series.

I received a ARC copy of The Chase from Net Galley in exchange for my opinion,
