This book is well researched and an interesting read to anyone that has an interest in WWI. This book is a historical collection of German occupied Belgium. It covers from August 1914 to May 1917. It tells a lot about those that went the extra mile to help others. The author did a great job with his research and compiling his information.

I ended up purchasing this after the fact because I really wanted to read it. Such a fascinating and inspiring accounting of WW1 crusaders and their efforts to help so many people suffering from starvation. Gripping and moving book it truly brings to life those dark times and the heroes who changed so many lives by sacrifices beyond measure to help those in need.
