Thank you Netgalley and William Morrow for access to this arc.
I was actually hoping that this book would be more practical DIY projects. Some of the book is just that but only 1/3 of it. The rest is geared more towards teens, young adults, and new adults just getting out on their own who haven’t had someone in their life to give them hints, tips, and life coach advice. For someone in that situation, this is a nice and helpful guide that could stand in for a counselor or parental type, sitting down with them, arm around their back who will listen and gently steer them in the right direction based on hard lessons learned. Kenney is religious and mentions Bible verses at times that have helped him get through his tough teen years. It’s not really for me but might be a nice gift for a person who is new to adulting. C
Not what I thought this book would be like. Disappointed but I am certain there are people that will enjoy this book. I take the blame on requesting the ARC without reading the description.
Not exactly what I was expecting but not bad. The this book gives 'very' brief information on the practical topics in the table of contents--brief to the point of being an overview-- plus some personal 'do this too' advice. Though very light on real instructions, it contains enough information to at least get started. As an adult approaching the end point of her working life, I'd say the book is suited to more to young teens, especially those without relatives to give them guidance than anyone over the age of 18-20. Nice concept but quite light on really useful information.
