I adore this series. I love the budding romance between the main characters, I love the tea shop with all the unique teas and menu items. The food in this series always sounds amazing. I really enjoyed the mystery in this one. It had some really good plot points, such as with the murder weapon, that really kept my interest. I thought the author was clever with this one. I also loved getting to hang out with some of my favorite characters. All of the characters in this series are incredibly well developed and thought out and I really appreciate it. I also enjoyed the addition of a rival tea shop and Everly's attempt to spy on them. It was a great book overall and I look forward to the next one in the series. Although you could read this as a stand alone it will have a better feel if you start with book one.

There were so many things I loved about this book - the setting, the surfing aspect (rarely covered in cozies), the rival tea shops, and mostly the wonderful community that Everly lives in. BUT... Everly really annoyed me in this one. She was constantly told (as in other books) to leave this one alone by everybody, especially her new boyfriend/detective, yet she wouldn't stop. I know this is common in cozies but for some reason, it really bothered me this time probably because there were so many threats to her and she still would not stop. I will still read the series but hope that this part of her personality will change (doubt it). And if anyone wants to throw me a birthday party like the one described in the book, I would love it!

I am horrible when it comes to reading and I know a series is ending. I will drag a book out forever. It too me almost two weeks to read this and it wasn't because it wasn't good. I don't want to leave Everly's world. I love her tea shop, her aunts, her best friend Amelia and her bookshop, and of course Grady. Oh, how can you not love Grady?

In Partners in Lime, Everly tries to clear her friend Matt of a horrific murder of a previous competitor. At the same time she is helping Amelia's boyfriend plan a surprise birthday party. Neither is going as planned.

I'll go ahead and warn you to get a box of tissues for the last ten percent of the book. I found myself bawling in the middle of the night while my hubby slept beside me.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

This is the 6th installment in the Seaside Café mystery series. I have not read all the others in this series but I do have them in my TBR pile. I was able to follow and enjoy this book and mystery but itching to get to those books now since I enjoyed this story so much. Everly Swan lives on the island of Charm in North Carolina and runs the Sun, Sand and Tea shop and café on the beach. Everly is providing refreshments for the upcoming play the Lost Colony when she sees her friend Matt Darning is seen arguing with one of the surfers who is promoting a new event in Charm next month. Matt is punched by this guy who is Kai Larsen who is later found dead with an arrow in his back that appears to be from Matt’s longbow from the play. Detective Grady Hays (Everly’s boyfriend) is on the case and is not happy about Everly’s involvement with the case and Matt. Everly is positive someone is trying to frame Matt and of course the killer is giving her warnings with arrows and almost running her over. I love Everly how she is imperfect and loyal and is so open with her feelings. This was truly and interesting and engaging mystery and I love the ladies from the retirement community as well and hope they are in more books in the future. Could not put this book down. Will have caught up on the prior books before the next installment. Recommend.

PARTNERS IN LIME is the sixth book in the Seaside Café Mystery series by Bree Baker. Set on the island of Charm, North Carolina, this charming book features protagonist Everly Swan and her delightful tea shop Sun, Sand, and Tea. Ms. Baker has developed a strong cast of characters alongside Everly. I especially love her elderly aunts, one who just happens to be the mayor of the town and the other who runs their shop, the Blessed Bee, which sells all sorts of bee products from their hives. Everly is also dating Detective Grady Hays and their relationship is moving forward and provides a subplot thread throughout the story. The author’s strong descriptive voice captures all that island life has to offer. There are beaches and tourists, plus surfers coming into town for a competition. Alongside that is the backdrop of the upcoming historical production, The Lost Colony with its more than one hundred participants. Ms. Baker intertwines the events and people together in a convincing fashion, setting the stage for murder and lots of suspects!

When the reigning surf champion is found murdered, Everly’s one-time fling, Matt, is the prime suspect. Here the storyline fell off for me as Everly ignores all the evidence piling up against Matt. Despite her detective boyfriend’s advice and warnings, she repeatedly meets up with Matt, even in unsafe locations. At times it felt like the author wanted to introduce a love triangle but wasn’t sure if that was the direction she wanted to go. Fortunately, it’s resolved by the end. That said, the author weaves a tightly plotted mystery with plenty of clues and suspects to keep the reader guessing and writes an edge-of-your-seat reveal. With a heartwarming and hopeful ending, Partners In Lime will appeal to fans of this series and will have us coming back for more.

While running the Sun, Sand, and Tea shop, Everly serves up all sorts of tempting treats and drinks. Thankfully, Ms. Baker includes several recipes at the back of the book to entice a hungry reader.

Partners in Lime is the sixth in the A Seaside Cafe Mysteries series by Bree Baker. I have read the entire series and have never been disappointed.
This is a well written Cozy with everything needed in a story. I love the characters are so down to earth and relatable. Ms. Baker will have you feeling as if you are on the beach in Charm, NC. You also get plenty of humor and romance with Everly and Grady. The amount of suspects and plot twists are perfect and you are guessing to the very end.
I would love to able to have an iced tea with Everly.
I was given an ARC by Poison Pen Press via NetGalley for an honest review.

When I read this one, I didn't realize that it was the sixth in the series. I think that is why I had a hard time understanding all of the relationships of the characters.

The mystery was well-written and I enjoyed reading as it was solved.

I enjoyed the setting of the book in a beach town with a laid-back Tea Shop. I would have loved more recipes as so many of the treats sounded wonderful! The earlier books in this series are going to be added on to my To-Be-Read list.

Partners in Lime is the 6th book in the Seaside Café Mysteries written by Bree Baker. I've been a fan of this series since its inception because the author easily sweeps you away with a beautiful setting, sharp characters, and fun plot. In this latest installment, a surf competition comes to Charm, North Carolina, and a surfers washes out permanently. Too bad it looks like Matt, Everly's good friend, appears to be guilty. We know he can't be, right?

Everly and her business continue to grow by leaps and bounds, but there's a new competitor in town. The scene where she visits the shop is quite amusing. It leads to some help investigating the recent murder, and when Everly's caught on the town blog, everything heats up. I enjoyed this mystery; there were good suspects and a nice bit of backstory about a few characters we didn't know all that well. By now, I'm used to the killer intentionally taunting Everly in all the books, so that's just part of their theme. I can dig that!

Everly and Grady's relationship takes a few turns. They have a good thing going but it's hard when they are both involved in the investigation, and Everly is always in danger. The ending was quite a shock. The series continues to shine, all the books are either 4 or 5 star reads. I am excited to read the next one in early 2022.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

We return to Charm and things are really happening. Aunt Fran is in the mayor’s seat and she is trying to bring more tourists to Charm. There is a surfer competition coming to town and a local drama group is rehearsing a play that will be opening soon. It is after one of these rehearsals that tragedy occurs. A surf pro is found murdered on the beach near the outdoor theatre. It appears the murder weapon is a prop that is used by Everly’s friend and hunky EMT Matt in the play. Everly soon learns the two men have a bit of a past and Everly has a hard time after another secret connection is revealed. Evidence aside Everly trusts Matt and knows he had no part in the man’s death. This puts her at odds with her new boyfriend Detective Grady Hays who is just following the evidence. Everly receives a few blatant warnings to back off but she is determined to prove Matt’s innocence. Having the town’s gossip blog weighing in with rumors and innuendo doesn’t help. The new fancy teashop down the beach is also a huge distraction for Everly. Can she stay two steps ahead of the killer? Or is she about to make a charming exit from the Sun, the Sand, and the Tea?

You know the characters are strong when you look forward impatiently for the next book in the series and worry about them when you read the new synopsis. That is how I feel about Everly, Clara, Fran, Grady, Denver, Denise, Matt, and even Lou and Maggie. The author has created well-developed characters that continue to surprise me. I am thrilled Grady and Everly are dating, but what about that blasted curse? It is great that Fran is the Mayor but Clara seems a little lonely after the two of them being attached at the hip for years. Matt being wrapped up in a murder when he truly is the sweetest guy. These characters are grown over the course of this series and are some of my cozy favorites. I know from page one that I am going to enjoy whatever adventure they take me on.

The adventure this time was very enticing this time because I wanted answers just as much as Everly. I was concerned by some of the risks she took but that is just who she is. She continually puts the needs of others in front of her own. There were some incredible twists and a surprising secret revealed. I was on the wrong track for most of the book but when we got to the showdown/reveal I swear my heart stopped for a good few beats. To say what happened is shocking is an understatement and I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll stop there. Okay, one more thing, there is a cliffhanger, Oh Bree Baker, you are testing me!!

So my virtual vacay to Charm was one heck of a roller coaster ride and I loved every minute of it, yes, even the cliffhanger. The beach was delightful, the tea was tasty and as always the residents of Charm, North Carolina made me feel right at home. Oh! and the gift Fran gave Everly was so cool!!

Note- I have heard the next book in this series is scheduled to be the last. I hope the powers that be change their minds because this series is absolutely divine. I recommend reading every book in order to really get to know the people of Charm. The mysteries are awesome too!

3.5*

This is the 6th book in the cozy mystery series Seaside Cafe Mysteries. This is the first book I’ve read by Bree Baker. This book lured me in by the cute title, gorgeous cover and of course the storyline.

In this book, Partners in Lime, the main character Everly Swan, owns a tea cafe in Charm, NC., Sun, Sand and Tea. She is busy with the cafe and her new boyfriend, Detective Grady Hays. Her family history is important to the sorry, as there is legend of the love curse for any men that the Swan women love getting hurt or dying. She’s scared that Grady is in danger by dating her, but he’s not intimidated by that. Her great aunts as there to be a support to her. Everly also had a knack of being involved in murders and mysteries that happen in town, to her boyfriend’s dismay. Life is good…until surfing pro, Kai is found dead, murdered by a theatre prop from the town play. He’s found dead with an arrow in his back. Her former flame, Matt, who plays the longbow in the play, is the main suspect. And of course Everly has to investigate.

I quite enjoyed the storyline. It was an interesting mystery filled with red herrings and multiple possible suspects which keep you guessing until the end!

The one problem in this book is the dialogue on and on about Everly interfering in Grady’s investigation. He’s mad at her over and over and it just gets a bit too much throughout the book.

All in all I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading all the books in the series. You can read this book as a standalone. Her upcoming book #7 is cutely named ‘Pleading the Fish'..

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is another title published by my favorite Poisoned Pen Press. It is a cozy mystery with all of the requisite tropes. Our protagonist has a small business (iced tea shop), dates a detective and becomes involved in a murder investigation. Amateur detective Bree will try to solve the case and help a former boyfriend. How do you imagine Detective Grady Hays feels about this?

The characters and setting enliven this title. The mystery itself was intriguing enough to keep me turning the pages.

I adore cozy mysteries for when I want to escape my real world problems. I enjoyed the time I spent in North Carolina and look forward to the next entry in this series.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

It's a reading pleasure to spend time on Charm Island, North Carolina. Everly Swan owns a tea shop that also serves up yummy bakery treats. Business is going very well.....until a competitor sets up shop and her shop The Sun, Sand and Tea shop is in a sticky spot. Add to that her friend and former fling, Matt becomes the prime suspect when a champion surfer is found dead on the beach, a case of murder that Everly is certain that Matt had nothing to do with. That leads to tension because she wants to do her own investigating but her current love interest, Det. Grady Hayes is firm that she stay out of it.
The mystery was solid and had me guessing. The setting of the island made me want to pack my bags for a vacation ASAP. To spend some time with Everly and her delightful, quirky aunts - one is the Mayor and they own a shop that sells bee products from their own bees. It's a very comforting setting even with the occasional homicide.
I have set aside a spot for the next in the series, Pleading the Fish to be published March 29, 2022.
My thanks to the publisher Poisoned Pen Press and to NetGalley for giving me an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is the 6th in series and can be read as a stand alone. I have read some of the series and had no problem following along with the story. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own. This is a charming seaside based series I always enjoy returning to.

This was a fun summertime read set in a coastal area of North Carolina at the height of summer season.
Everly has a successful iced tea shop and is dating a local detective Grady. Just when they are enjoying summer fun activities a murder occurs of a local beach shop owner. Grandy is on the case and Everly feels compelled to assist with her experience in murder cases. When her friend is accused Everly knows he is innocent and soon she is receiving messages written in sand and may be in danger herself.

This was a delightful addition to this fun series. If you love beachside cozies you will enjoy this fun series. The sleuth kept me guessing throughout and the supporting charcters are all likable.

Partners in Lime by Bree Baker is the 6th book in A Seaside Cafe Mystery Series, and another great addition. I love this series, it is quickly becoming one of my favorite. It's a busy summer and Everly Swan is very busy running her beach-side ice tea shop in Charm, North Carolina. When Everly finds another body she is determined to solve this murder, plus she's worrying about the new tea shop in town. I really enjoy this series, it is always fun to visit the sea side, and find out what's going on and having some great tea on the beach. This is a quick and fun read. It’s a great series and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I truly enjoyed it and would highly recommend this book and series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Everly Swan has finally broke the family curse, maybe! Things with her hot detective, Grady, seem to be going very well. Until there's a murder on the island. Again. Everly works to help clear a friend's name when he is suspected of the murder. Grady doesn't appreciate the help, as usual, but that never stopped Everly before. Everly is also contending with a new tea shop in town, but we know our girl will come out on top!

I'm sad that this is the second to last book in the series. I've fallen in love with Charm and the crazy cast of characters that live there. I'm excited to see if Grady and Everly get their happily ever after. They deserve it!

I have dipped in and out of this series and kicked things off in book 2 with 'No Good Tea Goes Unpunished', followed by book three 'Tide and Punishment'. I have yet to read book one, 'Live and Let Chai' and book four, 'A Call For Kelp'.

In this one, Partners in Lime, the sixth instalment in Bree Baker's Seaside Café Mystery series, protagonist Everly Swan is enjoying her busy life and is seeing more of her bloke, Detective Grady Hays. Her seaside café and iced tea shop, Sun, Sand and Tea is doing well, the cash register merrily ringing as the island of Charm, on the Outer Banks, North Carolina is home to various summer events including a historical outdoor drama 'The Lost Colony' by The Roanoke Historical Society. But things turn sour when a surfing pro, Kai is found dead, murdered by a theatre prop and, of course, Bree must investigate.

What a highly entertaining mix of mystery and mayhem! This wonderful cozy mystery, set on the small island of Charm was both compelling and enjoyable. It made perfect reading for me between other more intense novels. It was funny, witty and quirky with a fantastic plot. The characters are very well drawn by Bree Baker and I especially like Everly’s great-aunts, peace-maker Clara and determined Fran for their spirit-lifting moments.

This book was a great package of fun and excitement and it was a perfect book to enjoy with a mug of tea and a treat or two. The clever writing from Bree Baker continued to impress me which held me in its enthral until the end. The conclusion was a surprise and the author did a wonderful job wrapping up the story. With its great mystery and wonderful characters, I would recommend Partners in Lime, to all cozy mystery lovers out there who are wanting an easy weekend read. I hope it won't be very long before I'm back visiting Charm and Sun, Sand and Tea, in book #7, 'Pleading the Fish'.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Poisoned Pen Press via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

When Everly's EMT friend Matt was accused of murder, she got a little protective of him to the point that Grady may have been a touch jealous. But no worries, Grady, that girl is crazy about you! Everly had to deal with not only a murder, but the stress that having what she saw as a competitor recently open up in the form of a fancy tea room. I think she must've gotten more death threats this time than usual too! I think that'd tend to stress even the calmest of people!

I loved the gift that Everly got from Aunt Fran who sometimes came off as trying to be all tough, but she loved her niece just as much as softie Clara did. Ryan was planning something epic for Amelia, but Everly was a little busy chasing a killer to give him as much help as she'd have liked. I had a feeling at one point who the killer was. The showdown was kind of a nail biter, then something really crazy happened. I'm thinking in the next book that things are gonna get extra sweet for Grady and Everly...and I can 't wait!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.

The Seaside Cafe Mystery series is absolutely one of my very favorite cozy mystery series. This "charming" series is set in Charm, NC in the Outer Banks area. Everly Swan runs Sun, Sand, and Tea which features dozens and dozens of iced tea varieties and, of course, yummy food and desserts! Everly's great-aunts, Fran and Clara, are her only relatives. They live on the island and dote on Everly as if she were there own child. They, along with other "regulars" and newbies, make this series a delight to read.

The latest book in the series is Partners in Lime. A surfer ends up dead, and, of course, Everly can't stop herself from getting involved in solving the murder. Everly's involvement in the murders is a thorn in Detective Grady Hays's side. What was at first an annoyance is now much more since Grady cares deeply for Everly. Since Everly cares about Grady too, she tries and tries to not get involved, but somehow, someone she cares about gets accused of murder or is in danger! Can you blame her? Can you blame him? Nope! This time her friend Matt is accused of murder, so Everly just has to look for more suspects!

I love this book. Everly's living my dream life (I can do without the murders though.). She lives by the ocean in a small, quaint town and runs a tea shop! And her BFF runs a bookshop with her dad. Ocean, tea, books, family. Yep. I can handle it. As always, the murder leads Everly to many different conclusions about whodunit. Solving the mystery along with her is so exciting! Of course, danger follows Everly when she's on the scent of the murderer.

I will deeply miss these wonderfully written characters, whom I've grown to love, when this wonderful series draws to a conclusion in the next and final book. Though you can always read these books as stand-alone books, they're so much better when you start at the very beginning...a very good place to start. I highly recommend Partners in Lime!
