This was a fun engaging book about a little girl who loves books and wanted to build a library. Her design was very imaginative and brought in characters from books she has read to build the library. Children will enjoy the bright colors and wonderful illustrations. I highly recommend this book..
This is an adorable story that encourages kids to think way outside the box about designing and creating a dream library! This book could serve as a great springboard for a STEM/STEAM project.
"So You Want To Build a Library" is one of the most adorable children's books, and it's a total gem! Lindsay Leslie invites young readers to become architects of their own dream library in this imaginative picture book that celebrates the magic of libraries and the sheer joy of reading.
The synopsis had me hooked with its promise of a library a million stories high, complete with bathtubs and a full-service sundae bar. Trust me, it's as delightful as it sounds! Leslie's storytelling is heartwarming, encouraging kids to let their imagination soar and create a world where anything is possible – just like in books.
The characters are utterly charming, and Leslie's words come to life through the whimsical illustrations by Aviel Basil. The art style is sweet and endearing, capturing the essence of the story in the most delightful way. It's the kind of book that makes you want to dive into its pages and join the characters on their enchanting journey.
I'll happily give "So You Want To Build a Library" a warm four stars. It's the kind of book that not only fosters a love for reading but also inspires creativity and imagination. I really enjoyed it and I can't recommend it enough to parents and caregivers.

I absolutely loved the illustrations in this book. Any book that talks about libraries, i can almost guarantee to love. Libraries are so important - and i appreciate any author that makes a point to grind light to the love and importance of books and libraries.
This is a cute story with lots of adorable illustrations. I can see that readers would enjoy this book. Librarians love books promoting libraries so I can predict this one will fill library shelves. I would recommend to any library with younger readers.
I'm definitely bias as a librarian, but this picture book was simply delightful! The story is imaginative and the artwork throughout is bright, eye catching and playful - completely fitting for the story. I can see this being a fun story time tale, which is exactly where the reader is lead after building such a library!
This is a great book about building a library of your dreams and using your imagination. As a librarian, I think this is a great book because it really brings to light the fact that libraries aren't just books and quiet places anymore. They have so much more to offer.
So You Want To Build a Library is a delightful book that celebrates libraries in a fun and interesting way. A great book for younger children.
I may be biased, but I love any children's book in a library. In this story a child lists some of the items and features they would love to see in a library if they were in charge. I have to say - I would also like to add dragons to a library! It's a fun read with colorful and engaging illustrations that will draw children in. This would be a great book to spark discussions with children about what they would like to see at their library. It's also a great book to get children excited about going to the library.
'So you want to be a library' is a girls imaginative journey of building a library. In my opinion, her ideas are fantastic and so much fun. This is a fun adventure story for children that will encourage their creativity to flow. I love how it comes full circle in the end.
Lindsay Leslie provides readers with a cute story in So You Want to Build a Library. As a librarian, I wish it gad more to do about what happens in the library. The book would have been great for teaching library expectations. However, this book may be helpful for a STEM lesson where students work to build their own library.
Well, this was absolutely adorable. I loved it so much! I loved the imagination and the fun aspects. The library was definitely a dream library!
This was a cute little story about libraries, and as a librarian I remain biased. Thank you for another cute book.
My Review: It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to pick up a children's book but this one caught my eye immediately. I love the concept and idea, you never know what kids can come up with and it makes for a great conversation starter. It is full of fun and silly ideas of what could be put in a library and it will get those creative minds running. I loved the illustrations, they were bold and bright and will be great at capturing the attention of even the youngest readers. It is short and easy to read, perfect for those never ending bedtime story times. All in all a fun book to add to your collection.
A fun way of looking at libraries and our relationship with story. Flights of fancy and wildly imaginative images.
As a Little Free Library steward, I absolutely adored this book! How cute and creative! The illustrations and concepts in the book were great and I think it would make a great addition to any LFL to inspire future stewards.
This is a children's book that I read to my twin boys. The picture of this book was so cute, and I have to say my boys laughed so much while I was reading this book. I loved the idea about a kids wanting to built a library. I just hate water and ice cream near books, but that is just the book lover in me coming out. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Capstone Editions) or author (Lindsay Leslie) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
Step by step, "you" are guided through building the most magically magnificent library you can imagine. Want to add dragons or fairies? Sure!
The delightful illustrations--especially of the little girl and dragon--made me smile all by themselves. But the story is all about throwing your arms wide, opening your heart, and building a library filled to the rafters (in every corner) with books and things to make reading a cozy, adventurous, amazing, experience. A place you don't want to escape from; it is so wonderful, it becomes part of the book, and characters you have befriended from other stories might gather to enjoy the book with you!
I look forward to the publication of this book, so I can add it to my own library. Though humble right now, I am considering the addition of a few dragons, cowpokes, and more than a few space-people. I'm going to need more room!
If you are still "on the fence" about building a library, I suggest that you read the book immediately. Who knows how many knights, giants, dragons, or sloths, there are or when they will run out?
5/5 Stars Best of its kind!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the preview of this wonderful (e)book!
Oh wow!
This was a fun and beautiful book!
I got this after seeing many bookstagrammers post about it, and it is so damn good, and the illustrations are so immaculate and perfect!
A perfect read for little kids (and grown ups)!
I don't read a lot of children's books but this one looked too cute to pass up! So You Want To Build a Library is an adorably cute, short, simple, picture book that is relatable and inclusive! I would definitely recommend this book to people of all ages!
