I thought this book was cute and I really liked the artwork, however, the integratting of electrical engineering in this Christmas book felt very awkward. It would have made more sense to cut the story off before it jumped back to Christmas as it was a bit confusing to go back to the opening page after so many pages about something completely different. It just felt too forced. I liked it up to that point though, and my kids enjoyed it before we all got confused by the last few pages.
I received an ARC copy of Baby Loves Electrical Engineering at Christmas courtesy of #Netgalley, Ruth Spiro and Charlespridge Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
I read this non-fiction children's book with my son. The language was easy enough for him to read himseld and provided new information to challenge him. I like that it introduced a lot of factual concepts around electricity in a way that a child could understand.
I felt the book was a book of two parts. There is talk about electrical supply then talk about Christmas but not really together as the title would suggest, therefore only 4/5 stars.
The title and cover of this book made me think that it would be for toddlers. Once reading it, I realized it was actually for older kids. The title and content do not match. I was disappointed that the science of the book was as advanced as it was.
This was a really cute read about electricity and Christmas. The illustrations were adorable, especially the dog, but the physics talk didn’t flow with the story of Christmas. It was still a cute read that would be sure to captivate young readers during the holidays.
This was an informative book for young children. It helps to teach them the science behind everyday items and will hopefully help them learn. This looks like a good series for all kids to have.
