Honestly, I am not sure how to review this audiobook. I have watched 16 and pregnant and Teen Mom 2. I have also been a fan of Leah's. However, I can't seem to get into this audiobook. Maybe it's because I know a lot about her story already or maybe I would have liked it more as a hard copy book. Either way, this particular version was just not for me.
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC copy for the honest review.
I have watched Teen mom from the start. I was pregnant when the shows came out and my kids sre similar ages. I am so glad Leah told her truth. I too came from a teen mom who was controlling and was best I let her go (she was also an opiate addict) this book is so relatable. I had no idea Leah struggled with so much that wasnt even filmed.
Leah reading her own book was perfect!!
I’m a fan of the Teen Mom/16 & Pregnant franchises, and have watched Leah grow up and face all that life throws at her as a young mother. But to hear her tell all the trauma and disfunction in her childhood that framed who she grew to be, a lot of her decisions made a little more sense. It gives the listener/reader new insight to the way she was raised, which caused her to crave love from anyone and everyone she could.
It was a super short story (I mean she is only in her 20s lol) but I think it would make people judge her less and help others realize they can overcome their backgrounds as well.
Thanks to Netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for my review.
Reading Between the Wines book review #21/115 for 2021:
Rating: 3.5 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book 🎧: Hope, Grace & Faith

Sipping Synopsis: Leah Messer is best known as a cast member of the 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2. On the show, viewers saw her go through 2 pregnancies, one which resulted in a child with a disability, and 2 divorces. This book tells her recall of what happened prior to her reveal to America and the real behind the scenes-nitty, gritty, and raw.
Final sipping thoughts: I’ve never watched any of the teen pregnancy shows on MTV, but I have watched commercials and seen the drama. I knew nothing of Leah Messer and really invested in her story and where it would end. She reads the audio version and while at times it sounded a little novicey, I still enjoyed the story and found myself rooting for her and her failed relationships. It was a very quick read of 176 pages and under 6 audio hours which I was unaware of before I chose the book. I think Messer has gone through more than adults 2-3 times her age; however, I do think it could be a little premature to write a story about her 28 years of living because she has so much life to live and many more trials and tribulations to endure. Even with that said I still enjoyed the book.
Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @TantorAudio for an advanced copy of @HopeGraceFaith

Hope, Grace, and Faith is the story of Leah Messer of 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 fame. This memoir is Leah's chance to tell her story without unapproved edits and cuts. The audiobook is read by the author.
The scandal and peering into this young woman's life is wildly entertaining, even if the writing is not the most elevated. At times, the story is repetitive and lacking detail of the years recorded in the show. . It may be difficult for non-fans of the show to fill in gaps in the narrative.
Messer recounts the work of trying to repair her mistakes and generational hurt while being watched by the lens of cameras. The book is steeped with the language of someone who has been through extensive amounts of therapy. Her growth and learning is evident through her writing.

Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC. I only requested this audio book because I had already read the paperback. I watch this show and I saw the struggles Leah went through. This was an amazing book and in NO WAY did it change how I felt about her as a mother. I think she is a great mother who had some struggles. Everyone should read this book even if they dont watch the show!
This is my first audiobook that I've listened to all the way through.
Hope, Grace, Faith is the memoir of "16 & Pregant" and "Teen Mom 2" star Leah Messer. Chronicling her traumatic childhood, and her struggles with addiction and single motherhood.
Memoirs are not my usually my preferred reading material, but since I am family with the subject matter I figured I would give it a chance. I used to watch 16 & Pregnant as a teenager, I've seen a few episodes of Teen Mom, but it was never something I followed closely.
I really enjoyed the book, like I said, this is the first audiobook I've listened to all the way through. It's well written and engaging.
I'm not sure how I feel about the choice to have Leah narrate it, it wasn't bad, I just feel like her voice is so distinct that it's a little distracting.

This is a Non-Fiction Biography Memoir. Leah Messer was on Sixteen and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2. I watch her on Sixteen and Pregnant, and I also watched some of Teen Mom 2. I have not watched Teen Mom 2 in years, but Leah Messer was one of my favorite. I listen to the audiobook of this book, and the audiobook was narrator by Leah Messer which made the audiobook even better. The audiobook is short just over 3 hours long, and the fact I listen to my audiobooks at a faster speed it was super quick listen. I am really happy to get her side of what happen. I am so glad she as decided to live of herself. I think if you watch her on TV you will enjoy this audiobook or book, but I do not know if you will get anything out of it if you never watched her on TV. I was kindly provided an e-audiobook of this book by the publisher (Post Hill Press) or author (Leah Messer) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
I’ve been a fan of Leah’s since 16 and Pregnant and was really looking forward to her biography. I have to say that some of her stories were interesting but so much of it was excuses for poor behavior especially on behalf of her parents. It’s so sad that she has to make the excuses and even worse that she validates their reasoning. Some of the stories were heartbreaking.
This book is about Leah Messer from the t.v show Teen mom on MTV. It talks about her dramatic childhood leading up to when she had her 3rd daughter. It's her side of the story without MTV having a say of what gets filmed or not.
This book was really good. A page-turner. Didn't talk me long to read it. I had a hard time putting it down. It gives a very good look into Leah's side/life without MTV fishing for ratings.
I would recommend this book to people that are Teen mom fans. And that want to hear the other side.
Warning tho this book has lots of abuse of all kinds. She really hasn't had an easy life.
I would like to say thank you to Tantor Audio for giving me the chance to listen and review this book.
