This story felt like I just flew through it. So much happening in the Faerie lands. While I still love Elle and Alec, I really liked Jacoby and Agatha. I'm glad I waited for this book to be out before reading book 5 - I'm not a cliffhanger fan.

The author has added some imagings of the characters and places that was cool to look at.

Fire and Cinder starts with Elle, a girl on track for a "Cinderella" storyline, that is until her boyfriend gets taken by her mother's fairy godmother. Now she's on a quest to save him, but will changing storylines be enough to save him? Agatha is one of the evil stepsisters, only she's just found out that she's the last of her kind of elf.

I'll be honest, this wasn't exactly what I was expecting out of this book.

I didn't like Elle. She was giving off major generic "quirky", I'm so unique vibes. You could pluck her out and stick her in some teen drama Wattpad novel and she wouldn't be out of place.

This book was also a major info-dump - instead of letting the character (and the reader) discover things at a decent pace, all of the info is just given to us. There's no mystery, no having to work for info. Which is odd, because I simultaneously felt like I had no idea what was going on. That is probably because I haven't read the first six books in the series though.

Not the book for me,

Fire and Cinder is book #7 in the Fairy Tales of the Magicorum series. I was worried that because I didn't read the first 6 books in the series I might get confused. The author gave enough of a backstory on the main characters that I did understand what was going on, and she also didn't give away any of the plots of the other books, I feel like this is great for teens who just pick up books based on the photo on the cover. It will definitely intrigue them and make them long for the other books!

Agatha, is a teen who's life is entangled in the fairy tale of Cinderella. She longs to be separated from this and live the life she wants to live. In previous books she was shown something to make her believe this is possible. The adventure comes when Nal'del tries to force Agatha to do her bidding. I think this is a great book about friendship and the binding ties of family. Oh yes, and Love.

I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series. I also intend on recommending this to the students I work with, they will love it!

Also, did I mention, the art is AMAZING!
