Oh dear.

A marriage where things may not be as they seem, an affair, and to top it all off, murder!

Wow! What a great and exciting read!

I have my set psychological thriller authors that I love and I’m sometimes skeptical of ones I’ve never heard of but Gledé Browne Kabongo is now officially on my list! What a great, suspenseful story. From reading the description, I thought it would be a tale I’ve read many times but it kept me on my toes and kept my interest from start to finish. Great characters, great writing style, great book!! Will be looking out for the authors next one!

Couldn't put it down! Fantastic thriller. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Deceit, murder, you name it. I'd recommend this for any thriller fan.

Our Wicked Lies
by Gledé Browne Kabongo
This book starts off super strong but quickly falls into a cliched mess. I just do not understand why a wife is so desperate to stay with her cheating husband. It makes no sense to me and makes me annoyed with the woman. I did like Marston, Jack and Lily. The rest of the characters are your typical gossipy neighbor, busy mom conflicted about her work/family balance.
The author is exceedingly talented and writes a good but long-winded book. I know many will like this book, for me it is forgettable.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.

Fantastic! I didn't want to put it down. Highly recommend. Exactly what you want in a phycological thriller.

We get to know three married couples, one of the husbands has betrayed his wife infinitely often. And one wife is about to betray her husband soon. As the deceits come to the surface a lot of the oh-so-shiny perfect surfaces of those marriages start to lose its glint.

I couldn‘t put this novel down, because there were too many twists and turns I just didn‘t see coming.
It kept me guessing till the nerve-wracking end.
I never heard of Glede Browne Kabongo the author of this book before, but I will certainly look forward to read her upcoming releases.

I went into this book with no expectations, the blurb didn't give much away at all and it took a few chapters for me to get into it. Once I was in , I was hooked. A great novel full of twists and turns, I really didn't know where it was going at all and that is the thing I loved about it. It was very similar to a Liane Moriarty novel and was the perfect amount of friendship drama, husband issues, mystery, murder and a meek woman finding her strength. I think it was very well written, and flicked between the minor storylines easily and clearly. It really was a wild ride.

I am excited to read more by this author.

Alicia Gray lives a seemingly enviable life. She’s married to a handsome, successful husband who treats her like a queen, lives in a beautiful home in one of America’s richest zip codes, and has two beautiful daughters… then one day she discovers that not all that glitters is gold.

One day, she discovers dozens of emails between her husband and an unknown woman named Faith, hidden in his draft folder, and he’s been receiving mysterious calls from someone that he says works at his law firm. Alicia goes on a desperate quest to find out who Faith is, and is thrown when a death hits close to home.

Alicia soon discovers that her town is not what it seems, all while struggling to keep her own secrets buried deep.

My review:

Initially, I wasn’t sure what to think about this book. It started off quite slow, and I thought maybe I wouldn’t enjoy it. However, I stuck with it, and after about half a dozen chapters, it picked up, and I could not put it down. It has mystery, murder, intrigue, deception, and was SO THRILLING. I read half of it on my lunch break and was actually late going back to work because I got so lost in it. I would highly recommend it. Thank you to netgalley and Glede Browne Kabongo for the opportunity to review this ARC. This review and all opinions are my own.

Thanks NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and Glede Browne Kabongo for an ARC to review.
Alicia has the perfect life any woman would kill for. A loving, handsome successful husband, two perfect daughters and a nice home in a prestigious neighborhood. Or is it?
A gripping twisty thriller that will engage you instantly with characters who have their flaws and insecurities not 2 dimensional fictional personas.
I would love to read more for the writer.

“Our Wicked Lies” by Glede Browne Kabongo is a twisty thriller that delves below the surface of a seemingly perfect family and uncovers a web of lies and deceit that is so compelling to read. A wife who believes she has it all, and on the surface, it appears she does - until things start to come to light and she discovers her perfect life isn’t so perfect. A touch formulaic with its ending but an engaging and enjoyable read nonetheless. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I would recommend this book to readers who love thrillers - especially about messed up families - and I will be checking out this author’s other work in the future. My sincere thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I Liked Our Wicked Secrets. I just do not do well with too many descriptions to prolong the book. I liked the story once I hit the mid mark of the lies. I read it and enjoyed the mystery.

This book could definitely have been more gripping and thrilling- it left me a bit disappointed and felt flat overall. There are a lot more better books out there with similar stories so I didn’t feel that interested.

This book was a good easy read and I finished the book quite quickly. Although the book is described as a ‘thriller’ I wouldn’t really call it such. It was more like a drama with some mystery. Some of it was predictable but there were a few surprises as well. However, that being said it still left me wanting to find out what was going to happen and I loved that Alicia managed to stand on her own two feet at the end.

Alicia has the perfect life: perfect daughters, perfect home, perfect husband. Along with her friends Kat and Rina, she enjoys life in the suburbs. But then she discovers an email that changes everything....
A thrilling page-turner with many twists and turns
A recommended read for fans of Liane Moriarty or Shari Lapena

This book was okay - just okay. There wasn't much thrill to the thriller, to be honest. To me, there was too much going on before the murder, and not enough after it. And then everything got tied up in a neat little bow at the end. Even the twist was sort of eh. So... yeah. It was okay.

I was pulled in immediately and had no desire to put it down. I skipped a snack and lost sleep. Worth it.

The book held my attention from the first page. This book is for the psychological thriller lover and the twists and turns are mind boggling. It takes place in Boston and your are transported into the lives of Eliot and Alicia Gray, Richard and Katalina DeLuca and David and Rina Stark. One of these three husbands has betrayed his wife for the last fifteen years and one of the wives has betrayed her husband in a way I never saw coming. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the book turned in the in a new unexpected direction.
